November 11, 20178 yr By far the most interesting with lots of unfancied and untested players at this level. RLC did well should have had a couple of assists, I also liked the look of Maguire later, coming forward to open up the Germans. I thought Dier did well and thought Tammy showed strength and was unfortunate he could not convert his chance. Don't' see him yet as a first team player more one for the future if he keeps improving. Always difficult to assess if friendlies give a good indication of potential yet you can only beat the opposition in front of you.
November 11, 20178 yr Torn over the result tonight, kept Denmark relatively quiet, but we created f**k all as well. Danish fans certainly weren't happy however, plenty of jeering during the match and at full time. A bit more adventurous on Tuesday, and I think we'll sneak it

Would have liked a blanket of an away goal however

Season ticket has really paid off this year, saw tickets going online for 300+ quid. Hopefully the atmosphere is rocking and we can get the result

That's a bit harsh considering we got to see RLC and Tammy Abraham and also came close to winning against Germany. I see this as Southgate using the opportunity with injuries to check on other potential England players. We don't have a huge pool of talent so checking out those untested players on the margins at friendlies seems to make sense to me.
November 13, 20178 yr People on this board wanted Candreva on Chelsea - dude has really stunk it up in the Playoff match vs Sweden at the San Siro - glad that people on this messageboard are not on the club's board
November 13, 20178 yr I heard years ago Buffon planned to retire on the 2018 world cup, would be awkward if he doesn't get that chance.
November 13, 20178 yr flip sake, a world cup without Italy and Northern Ireland - I mean, what's the point? Might as well go on holiday...
November 13, 20178 yr Italy since 2006 in the WC: knocked off the group stages in 2010 and 2014; can't qualify for the 2018 WC.... Crisis anyone? Congrats to Sweden. Edited November 13, 20178 yr by Londonisblue
November 13, 20178 yr Well, gonna be strange not seeing Italy play in a world cup. Gigi buffon announced after the game that it was his final game for his country. I feel like if this was England everyone would be laughing their arses off!
November 14, 20178 yr So, when was the last time Italy were not in the WC? 50 years ago? How long until we see another rumors how Comte was devastated watching Italy get knocked out, that he can't wait to go back to manage the NT?
November 14, 20178 yr Author It will be refreshing to not see Italy in a WC for once. I am sick of the pomp and media masturbation over them every time they play. Conte worked miracles with them, they won't be challenging for a trophy for a very long time now.

As you say, the rumours will start that Conte wants to go back to Italy which would be typical of the media.
November 14, 20178 yr Last 6 World Cup playoff games.... Honduras 0-0 Australia New Zealand 0-0 Peru Denmark 0-0 Ireland Switzerland 0-0 N Ireland Greece 0-0 Croatia Italy 0-0 Sweden Now 569 mins (9.5 hours) since last goal when Sweden scored on Friday. Edited November 14, 20178 yr by Van Butsen
November 14, 20178 yr Italy is a shock, but look at the teamsheet it's ridiculous. Darmian was the LWB for crying out loud! Belotti, Insigne, Electric Shaaraway and Bernadeschi on the bench when they need goals. Italy will be missing Conte more and more.
November 14, 20178 yr Haha, just when many punters were saying England were poor. Don't worry Italy you will still have your pasta, your opera, the Colliseum and more Sun than us.
