March 7, 20179 yr Man City will cut the gap to 8 points tomorrow but can't see them beating both Arsenal and Liverpool before coming to Stamford Bridge, so the gap should be bigger before we play them
March 7, 20179 yr City still have pool arsenal united to play I don't see them winning all of those games
March 7, 20179 yr We are nearly there once again. Touching distance now and all talk about anything else then the title is weak at this point.
March 7, 20179 yr ATM we look on track to win comfortably. I think Tottenham are a bit too far behind and Man City's fixture list will IMO take its toll. Also I don't think Tottenham have quite the consistency required to win the league, especially in attack. They can look brilliant sometimes but look toothless at other times. Things can change though - we must keep playing professionally.
March 7, 20179 yr If I were from the outside looking in I'd say 100% we would be champions. However when you are a fan you always have that feeling it's all about to implode and another team like City or Spuds will go on an unbeaten run. The sooner it's done the better for my nerves. Every game feels like a cup final now.
March 7, 20179 yr Must not think anything is won yet. It is in our hands to win the league. I think if we can get at least 14 points from our next 6 games ( assuming we play watford) after these 6 scheduled games. We will be in very very good contention. but every game has to be treated like a cup final.
March 7, 20179 yr Always have a safety valve that's what I do. Although I am delighted with where we are and how we are playing, at the moment citeh and spertz can catch us and are playing well also. I would say they are favorites as they don't have the pressure of expectation. 9 point leads have been overturned from here before. I am still happy with a CL spot leaving at that for now. It is the only way I can cope.

Would be massively disappointed if we couldn't go on and clinch the title from here. In my opinion would effect the players and board 10 times more than last seasons blip. Simply not an option. Already looking forward to getting boozey for the open top parade!
March 7, 20179 yr I thought this was pretty dope, makes things a bit clearer to look at. Obviously blue is good, red is bad City's run of Pool, Arsenal and us is probably the toughest 3 game stretch any team has left. I'm looking forward to the race for 4th. United look like they are going to have a tough go of it playing 4 of the top 4 with 3 of them away, I doubt Jose will take the Europa League lightly when he sees the fixtures they have coming up, they are going to have to nearly win out to get in. Conversely Liverpool look to have a simple path to 4th or even 3rd, only 1 tough match left and they should have some easy points but they will cock up somewhere there. Chelsea- 93 Spurs- 84 City- 81 Liverpool- 81 Arsenal- 80 United- 75 Edited March 7, 20179 yr by TheChelseaBlues
March 7, 20179 yr No way do City come through their next 4 games with maximum points, I would think they'll drop points in at least two of them. They have to beat us if they have any hopes of catching us, we'll have to avoid losing and we'll be well placed I think. Spurs have arguably the easiest run for the remaining fixtures, don't see them dropping too many points personally but i'd be looking to Southampton to do us a favour in their next game. Of all the teams I think they're the ones who can run us closest, especially if Kane continues in the scoring form he is in. As for United, Loserpool and Arsenal I think they're too far behind to worry about.

March 7, 20179 yr This was Giles Smith in 2015: Doubt? I’ll show you doubt. I had played out the whole grim scenario: a defeat to those renowned spoilers Crystal Palace, a rare slip-up against a suddenly and unprecedentedly coherent Liverpool, a monumental cock-up at West Brom and then a 1-0 lead on the last day of the season, taken all the way into the fourth minute of time-added-on when Sunderland get a corner and everyone comes up for it, including their manager… " Yep, every time, this is how I view the season-end: Chelsea 13 points clear in April 2005? Not relaxing til it's certain! Needing to beat Wigan at home to win in 2010? Wow, that's not easy! I started to relax a little at 4-0 against 10 men. 10 points clear now? Nerve-racking. I mean it's only losing a few isn't it? And City have a game in hand so that reduces it already........

We also have to lose at least 3 and draw one, just for spurs to be level which is probably not going to happen either. Dont tell the players that, though

Dont tell the players that, though You two crack on :-) not disagreeing with you, it is just my own personal safety valve that's all....... A nice lead into the citeh game I will be a bit more positive however we can easily have a couple of bad days away from from home say at Stoke and Bournemouth, then the citeh games becomes very jittery.... no complacency from me
March 7, 20179 yr If and when we lose 2 in a row I will maybe start sweating! Every win we chalk up from here is a hay maker to the jaw for our enemies...

It is rare for a team to get 2.5 points in the run in. If City get 2.5 points per game in the run in then they will end at 85 points. Meaning we need 1.72 points per game. It happens (look at City and Tottenhams run in last year) but there are usually mitigating circumstances (tottenham gave up when they lost the league, city stopped playing when they knew guardiola was coming in). If we cant get 1.7 points per game we don't deserve to win the league anyway.
March 7, 20179 yr It's a completely different season with different teams, managers, positions. However Fabio Borini will still bury us
