Alonso has a lot to his game that you don't see in other wing backs, his crossing is good, defensive skills decent and good ball contol, but thats normal for a wing back, but he also knows how to play a defence splitting pass, is great with his head, has an awesome shot, and to top it off his free kicks are immence, how many other wingbacks possess these skills?
Ditching him because he is a bit slower than ideal would be madness considering what else he brings to the table. Bring in a player to rotate with him, but not somwone to relegate him to the bench. 

Bringing a top player in to rotate with him will be good. But who knows if a player like Sandro will be OK with rotation and not being the outright first choice in his position except when he is injured?

Shevchenko was well past it before he came. 

Torres is the closest I can think of, before his injuries he was up there.

Love the optimism but dont see, the board knows best, gotta pinch the pennies! lol Sandro has said he likes Juve so the player does not have the desire. Its another OX job, best to look forward to the January window for other options.
