May 1, 20179 yr We really can't take anything for granted, as easy as it may look on paper, we are going to face 3 home games where the opposition will be playing for pride if nothing else. If we are going to win this league we will have to do it by beating sides that have nothing to lose. Watford are safe, Boro are pretty much gone but not without a fight, and those arseholes from Sunderland always seem to save their best performances for playing against us. It's not done and dusted just yet, although it's pretty close. On a side note, Fantastic second half performance today, really was the stuff of champions. Edited May 1, 20179 yr by Fansince65
May 1, 20179 yr An absolutely fantastic result. This was the one game where everyone thought that we would either draw or lose, especially given Everton's rock-solid home form. Instead, we come out with a big win. I have to tip my hat to Pedro - he's scored some absolutely crucial worldies this season. That may yet be the difference between 1st and 2nd at this rate. On another note - f**k you Arsenal. At least this win might have deflated Spurs. We should be aiming for 4 in 4 to wrap up the season. We're definitely good enough to do it.
May 1, 20179 yr Everton had won eight home games in a row before yesterday. So us winning 3-0 was a great result.

I reckon the main reason for this was the fact that Saturday's results clinched a Europa League spot for Everton next season; their season essentially ended there and then. May 1, 20179 yr 20 minutes ago, Beerqueen said: Yeah usually to mute us! You could barely hear our fans all game, so it must have been something to do with the Mics. I even noticed, during one of our goal celebrations, that they actually seemed to turn the volume down as Azpi was in mid-roar at the crowd. There is a video on Youtube of the Kop doing their pre-match Karaoke before one of those miserable 'sh*t on a stick' CL semis up at Anfield when FSW was in charge. Our fans were drowning out the home fans with a very loud 'Chelsea Chelsea' chant, and Sky just turned the sound right down. It was unreal. Edited May 1, 20179 yr by Backbiter
May 1, 20179 yr Spurs have most of their remains games away from home where their record is less strong.

Playing away may seem a disadvantage for Spurs on paper but I think it might help them, playing away 4pts behind there's less pressure on them whereas we're expected to win our home games. May 1, 20179 yr Put Cesc in the starting line up for the next three home games and he will get the job done for us.
May 1, 20179 yr I really believe the players know how to win now even in tight games they know how to focus and be paitent. I expect wins in all 4 remaining games as I expect Spurs to win all theirs

May 1, 20179 yr shoutout to @BelgradeCFC who posted this on the Don Antonio thread - I wanted to post this video here in the match thread 9 hours ago, Beerqueen said: Yeah usually to mute us! May 2, 20179 yr We getting a MOTM thread? My memory struggles enough as it is what with all the whiskey I've been drinking, I'm going to forget who played well shortly. Edited May 2, 20179 yr by Van Butsen

May 3, 20179 yr MotM for me was Azipilicueta, he was calm under the early pressure and didn't put a foot wrong all game, as usual. He was also there to mop up when both Gaz and Luiz looked nervy dealing with Lukaku.
