I bet they don’t want to buy a new keeper and this is their way out. IF he had a concussion, from personal experience I can't imagine he didn't feel the adverse effect. He should have asked to be taken off, for his own health and for the good of the team. I can't recall the incident, was he hit that hard btw?
June 5, 20188 yr Arsenal have signed Stephan Lichtsteiner. A good stop gap for a year or two. Could have been useful for us and allowed Azpi to stay at CB.
June 5, 20188 yr For some reason I don't feel people would have been overly enthused at news of signing a 34 year old CB lol.

Transfers aren't made to make people feel enthused, they're made to improve the squad. Would have been a useful RB to have for a year and better than Zappacosta. For free we could have made a tidy bit of money on Zappa to invest elsewhere. Similar to what PSG did with Alves.
June 5, 20188 yr Lichsteiner is well past it though. He won't cope with the pace of the Prem, or he'll just sit back, thus offering no width - something required from the modern FB.

June 5, 20188 yr https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/snubbing-sol-campbell-frank-lampard-12646561 Ahhh another summer, another Sol Campbell victim lapse. Campbell couldn't land a Premier League job and he blames it on racism, now it's the same way again in the Championship. Who the f**k would want to hire an egotistical maniac who constantly says "but I am Sol Campbell" then claims he has the greatest mind ever in football. The bloke sounds like Donald Trump, I feel sorry for the next poor sods who actually hire him as a manager, although I think that'll be unlikely. But if he is as good as he says, then surely he wouldn't mind proving that in the lower leagues. I mean a guy who disappears for 8 years after retirement and does 0 punditry and wants to play without wingbacks in a 3 at the back formation. It's insane how he's not headhunted by Real Madrid and Barcelona. Edited June 5, 20188 yr by Slojo

Cram all flavour of the month names onto a teamsheet and there you go instant Sol Campbell team

June 7, 20188 yr https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44394226 Besiktas have been fined 34,000 euros (£29,880) by Uefa after a cat wandered on to the pitch during their Champions League last-16 defeat by Bayern Munich in March. English referee Michael Oliver stopped play in the second half at Vodafone Park until the cat left the pitch. The Turkish club have been charged with "insufficient organisation", and have also been penalised for fans throwing objects and blocking stairways. Bayern won the tie 3-1 on the night. It finished 8-1 on aggregate as they progressed to the quarter-finals, with fans of the German club voting the cat as their man of the match. How does the fine compare? From 4-7 June, Uefa's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body issued 13 disciplinary decisions, including those against Besiktas. On Monday, three fines were issued to Liverpool, amounting to a total of 29,000 euros (£25,486) after fans set off fireworks in games against Manchester City and Roma, as well as "the throwing of objects, acts of damage and crowd disturbances". Bayern Munich must pay 25,000 euros (£21,970) for a pitch invasion and the display of an "illicit banner" during their home Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid, while Atletico Madrid were fined 18,000 euros (£15,819) after stairways were blocked during their Europa League last four match with Arsenal. The Russian Football Union was fined £22,000 for racist chants by fans in a friendly against France in March.

You need three separate subscriptions, Sky, BT Sports and Amazon Prime. It's little wonder more and more people have been turning to online streams. I would love for the clubs to offer an in house subscription service, an online season ticket type thing. Chelsea say pay £xxx at the start of the season and you can stream all of our matches through a log in on our website.
