If he hasn’t signed in the next week I would sell him, his brother is connected to Bayern and could easily agree with Calum and Bayern to leave on a free next year, same way we held off on Barkley to get him less who was also injured.

Either way he is in a position to hold us hostage and it has been well manufactured to be like that, these family agents are usually problematic, if he isn’t going to sign then he must have real motivation to go there as he is guaranteed time here and good pay in a better league and in the country he grew up in.

It seems like a ploy and the club should push back enough to find his real intention, set him an ultimatum and see what his response is.

I do hope he stays but all this fannying about, he is at a top club in the best league in the world, being offered big money and a key role, take the offer or move on.

Rather lose him for free, we will be short of wingers if he went this window, and i doubt Bayern will coming back with big money, when he is injured and free in 12 months time. €25m isnt worth selling for imo.

More reports last night that a new deal is close, so we will wait and see. It seems to have been close for 2 months though.

I’d really like to keep him makes no sense for him to go I think and hope it’s just ganes from his brother to get more money

I hope this player will be important in the future for the club. He's still a young-player, so I hope he get the time to develop. Sometimes there is too much pressure on a talent.

CHO “liked” the tweet of the story put up on the official site of Lampard saying he’ll make him central to his plans.

CFC PR machine in full swing to link CHO’s new contract to Lampard when in truth it’s been as good as done for weeks now.

Still, anything that builds good will for the club and the gaffer I’m all for it.

I might well be the only one who thinks this, but i have to be honest and say i'm not one of his biggest fans and  question his attitude (demanding playing time, shirt number rollox) and ability.  He really hasn't done anywhere near enough to deserve to be "central"  to the team. Indeed, in his Premiership appearences he's looked apprehensive and some way off being ready to be in the starting 11. Yes, have him very much part of future plans, but let him earn anything more than that, just like RLC has done.

If he's still not signing a new contract and considering his options even though he's very young and still hasn't proven himself in the league...imagine how arrogant and posh he'll end up being in a few years time, once he signs a contract.

He has this amazing aura about him because of all the media speculation that can end up hurting him, not now not next year but in a few years time when he has a poor performance and doesn't look interested, fans will sense that and think of him like he has been a brat all along and that he doesn't actually care about the club, fans and so on, and then he will ask for an even bigger contract in order to stay.

RLC has been an amazing persona at the club and has shown to everyone how much he cares and wants to be a part of the club, a far better behaviour from him compared to CHO.

Yep, you are in the 1%.  The kid was 17 when the season started, how much does he need to show?  He played well enough to earn more playing time, so I don’t have a problem with him “demanding” more time on the pitch.

If anything, he’s been poorly advised by those around him.  Not his fault.

He/no player should be demanding anything at that age! Not least because it disrespectful towards senior pros. I want to see "our boys"  make it at Chelsea as much as anyone, but i want them to go about it the right way. RLC has done that and is a great role model for our young players.

Don't draw conclusion of him 'dragging' a contract to what he is like. Sarri said he is a strong person and I believe him. Maybe his father or his representation have taken a too big role here or it just takes a couple of days. No reason for Callum to leave now. Absolutely zero. He is destined to take Eden's position on the left and what better opportunity to show his skills and value than at his parent club. We also have Champions League.

I really don't know what he is like but with all the drama caused by Bayern and the media, his public image is already looking like he isn't loyal to his parent club unless Marina gives him a super deal, otherwise he could have made it clear by joining in the same day as Ruben did, 2 academy members at once at the press and with a pen in their hands would have been great for the image of the club, but he's not the type of person to make that move, or his representation that he allows to represent him.

He probably knows that he has no reason to leave Chelsea, but that doesn't stop him from making a statement, this one where he still isn't signing a new contract. I just hope he doesn't become a diva, at least not so soon in his career.

Or, because the club cannot make any signings during the transfer window they're staggering announcements of things like new contracts to help detract from the lack of signings.

Regardless, CHO wouldn't dictate when and how his new contract extension is announced.

No, it’s not disrespectful at all for him to believe he should be playing ahead of Willian and Pedro, based on their performances.

If he’s good enough he’s old enough, so your argument bringing his age into really has no merit.  I’d rather him demand playing time versus sitting back and being ok sitting on the bench, especially when our team lacked a killer’s mindset.

Maybe I’m in the minority on this thought, but since he’s always shown love and appreciation for the fans, seems liked in the dressing room, and such promise on the pitch - well I really don’t give a f**k if he demands (or more likely, met with the manager and asked for) more playing time.  Well done to him.

The transfer request, that in my opinion is just a case of a young player being poorly advised by those close to him.  I don’t hold it against him.

It's a bigger statement to have both CHO and RLC signing new contracts at the same time in comparison to how it actually is right now, with CHO still not signing a new contract, huge difference where even during a transfer ban the club would be saying:"It's fine look we have some of the finest young talents here with us, double reassurance for the future...".

Lets not make a spinoff here, CHO can sign a new contract easy, if he wants, or to be more specific, he could have signed a new contract a few months back even before his injury. Lampard was clear enough that the club wants him to be a key member of the team, but did it really need to come to that point where the club is almost begging? Like I said, I hope he doesn't become a diva with a big ego, I don't mind the club paying him 100k per week and the number 10 shirt but his love for the club should be genuine, it shouldn't be this hard/take this long for him to commit.

From everything I have seen and read over the last 4-6 weeks the new contract is as good as done and it's only a matter of time before it is announced.

I don't see anything to be getting upset about personally.

If the contract is signed today, tomorrow or in the new year, doesn't really change anything.

I expect it was agreed a while ago but the club are using Lampard as manager and CHO signing as good pr, works for everyone really.

From CHO's point though it must be nicer to have a manager say they want to make you a key part of their squad, and nurture him to be world class. Contrast that with Sarri who said he wasn't old enough to be playing for a top side.

While I'm unhappy about there being no announcement of him signing the club need to play it smart here. It seems to me his advisers, his brother and father, are controlling his contract talks. Its all speculation but why wouldn't he have signed by now? Money? Really. Are Bayern going to offer him more? I don't think so. Are they going to offer him more playing time than Frank. He's injured at the moment so that's a bit academic but Frank has already announced he is central to his plans. Why hasn't he signed? Playing time and money are better at Chelsea so there's something else going on.

I'm beginning to think there's a battle between the club and his family. Callum has grown up in this country and is a Londoner. His father was born in Ghana and played International football for his country. Apparently at the peak of his career he was earning £7 a week. This type of treatment as a player would tarnish any views on your sons contract talks. He will obviously want the very best for his son but if he isn't au fait with how negotiations play out he could be making it very difficult for the club and Callum. I suspect Callum is caught between his own instincts, which would be to continue his career at a club he has been at since the age of 12, and trying to please his father who was treated badly as a player. The club need to keep their heads and treat all concerned with as much patience as possible and bend over backwards if they have to.

He is a special talent and I really don't want him to become the next De Bruyne or Salah.

I don't mind him  thinking he should be in the first team. Like you, i prefer that to him just accepting its good  enough to sit on the bench and be part of the squad. Making his demands public is what I have an issue with. It's early signs he could be another Pogba.

That's all well and good, except he never made anything public.  In fact, nobody has actually confirmed anything the player specifically wants.  It has all been through a mouthpiece of the media or his family.

Well, there were the looks he shot Sarri from the bench...…….

Look, both Sarri and Jose had a distrust of young players.  Age counted against them in their eyes.  In my mind, if a player is good enough, he's good enough.  It's all well and good to let a young player train with the first team and give hi a taste by putting him on the bench, but he isn't going to develop that way.

Like it ort not, our reputation for constantly loaning youth players is now working against us.  Young players don't want to keep h-going to foreign countries to play - if they sign for Chelsea, they want to play for Chelsea.  Also, the constant loans do not give a player an opportunity to develop[p or foster a passion for Chelsea.  They never make a connection, and don't feel like they belong.  And if other clubs are coming in for these players making promises of play time as a way to seduce them, then you have to be aware of your players being tempted.

Frank's comments on him were encouraging.  And so are the various reports of his contract extension being close (or even done already).  But I think we should be cautious of Hudson-Odoi's brother's relationship with Bayern, and BBC Sport report this morning that negotiations over an extension at Chelsea haven't even begun.

As with all things Chelsea, nothing should be believed until the club announce it.
