Bayern have offered less because his contract is running out, not because he is down in anyone's estimations. The fact that they're pursuing him for consecutive windows shows how high up in their estimations he is. Chelsea is the best deal. Unless of course you know better.

July 2, 20197 yr http://sportwitness.co.uk/germany-bayern-munich-snatched-chelsea-gem-away-club/ Apparently one of our brightest u16's has been poached by Bayern, and the player is represented by none other than Bradley Hudson-Odoi. I really cant imagine what sort of relationship the club have with CHO's agent/brother, that move is bound to really piss the club off. Im sure we would like to push players away from agents like that, but when we want CHO to stay, it puts us in a difficult position, if his brother is signing up our best players to his agency, then actively looking to move them elsewhere before they even sign a professional contract! Im still very doubtful CHO will sign a new deal, i think his brother will be pushing for a big pay day in 6 months time, he will be able to demand massive fees, since there will be no transfer fee. Hopefully over the next couple seasons, we can lampard can give us a reputation for giving these youngsters a chance, in the meantime, il keep my fingers crossed for CHO, and hope his brother stops invading pur academy to line his pockets.

I believe Musiela is German, or has some familial ties to Germany, so maybe he wanted to go back? But I agree with you: The optics of CHO's brother taking a bright Chelsea youth prospect to Bayern is pretty bad. What I worry about is the obvious relationship that seems to exist between Bayern and Bradley Hudson-Odoi. You have to wonder what the motivations are here.

If he takes his time to return to full fitness at Bayern or of the ilk he will be dropped if not replaced fairly quickly, here he will be given a lot of time and patience by the manager and especially the fans. Furthermore even if long term he sees himself elsewhere, he will be 23 when his new contract expires, if he's that desperate for a new challenge in the long run he can be gone by age 22 at the latest with more certainty in terms of his fitness and maturity aswell as a decade of top level football still Infront of him. It's not a Hazard situation where a new deal would tie him to the club until he's too old to try a (big) new challenge. Signing the contract is definitely the best move for his career at present.

Agreed. I think Bayern was the best option in January if nothing had changed. Now Chelsea is best for him.
July 2, 20197 yr Allegedly he could be back by September. Hopefully he will have signed that new 5 year contract by then too!

It happens to all clubs with great academies, city lost Sancho, Barca lost Pique, Fabregas, Utd lost Pogba etc.. I dont blame us in the entire CHO episode either.. none of the "youngsters" that have left us (i am excluding KDB and Salah) really have set the world on fire.

For me it’s either have the deal signed by the end of this month on move him on. If he’s back playing for us next season without a new contract I think he’s most definitely on his way for a free next season.

Its not the fact we are losing players that concerns me. Like you said, it happens to everyone. Its the dynamic between Hudson odoi's brother, Chelsea and Bayern, that i find worrying. Bradley hudson odoi is in a perfect position to sign chelsea academy players to his agency, if his interests are to funnel the best players to bayern to establish a good relationship with them, and ultimately better terms and more sway for his brother, that then puts the club in a difficult position. There are agents that the club strongly discourage if not ban players from signing onto in the terms of their contracts, im sure Bradley would be pushing to get on that list, especially if anymore of his clients end up at bayern this summer. Obviously thats something we cant do with him being CHO's agent and brother while we are trying to persuade him to stay. Hopefully this is just an isolated case, as @Boston Blue stated the kid is german born, and he couldve wanted to move to germany for various reasons. I guess we will have to wait and see whether CHO follows rubens lead and signs a new contract, theres various sources saying a deal is close, but Bayern made another bid recently, they are still obviously in regular contact with CHO's brother, so there must be some encouragement still from CHO's camp, whether thats a negotiation ploy, or something more sinister, time will tell.

The only motivation for football agents is to make lots of money. Slimey parasites who'd sell thier granny to make a few quid.

I really dont know enough about CHO's brother but i guess in most cases when family are agents it seems club relation suffers..
July 4, 20197 yr With all given the same opportunities, i imagine CHO would get more goals and assists than Pedro, Willian and Pulisic.

July 5, 20197 yr I'm quite surprised at how fast it seems CHO's achilles is recovering. Hopefully they don't rush him back to quickly, which I'm sure they won't. It's really awesome to see those videos of CHO and RLC getting back into it. The best part of the beginning of the season is the amount of optimism that is abundant.

My guess is that it wasn't a full tear, so not as serious as it could have been and easier to heal. Young people tend to heal much quicker too, so that is likely player a part in his quick recovery.
July 6, 20197 yr If he hasn’t signed in the next week I would sell him, his brother is connected to Bayern and could easily agree with Calum and Bayern to leave on a free next year, same way we held off on Barkley to get him less who was also injured. Either way he is in a position to hold us hostage and it has been well manufactured to be like that, these family agents are usually problematic, if he isn’t going to sign then he must have real motivation to go there as he is guaranteed time here and good pay in a better league and in the country he grew up in. It seems like a ploy and the club should push back enough to find his real intention, set him an ultimatum and see what his response is. I do hope he stays but all this fannying about, he is at a top club in the best league in the world, being offered big money and a key role, take the offer or move on.
