There's probably a name for this kind of psychological condition. I'm sure Arsenal fans have it. Where you are presented with a bad situation and eventually grow to actually think its good and acceptable.

ha ha true...lets call it gunner syndrome...

No, currently at Phoenix Rising, though I believe he has a place in the hierarchy.

 Bring back Pato!!!

Was at Villa park when he scored
Will always remember the chants of
"WE WERE HERE! WE WERE HERE! WE WERE HERE WHEN PATO SCORED!"

Surely not?

I understand that the guy is something of a Plan B in that he can hold up the ball much more effectively than Morata when needed, but his injury record counts against him for mine.

United: Lukaku - Ibra

City: Aguero - Jesus

Liverpool: Firmino - Sturridge

Arsenal: Auba? - Lacazette

Chelsea: Morata - Carroll?

Oh god.

I wonder if he'd pass the medical, he currently has an ankle injury :face_palm:

It doesn't seem to matter given our recent signings does it ?  Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Barkley, Zappacosta, Rudiger were all signed whilst injured, I think there were more but I can't be bothered to go through the list to be honest.

Chelsea have approached West Ham about signing 29-year-old striker Andy Carroll on a permanent deal. (Telegraph)

The Hammers are willing to listen to offers of £20m for Carroll. (Sky Sports)

:face_palm:

Moyes insisted after the 1-0 win over Shrewsbury on Tuesday that Carroll wouldn't be going anywhere.

He said: "I want to add players to my squad, not lose players.

"There have been a lot of rumours about a loan but as far as I know none of its come from Chelsea.

"At the moment Andy has an ankle injury and he had an injection 10 days ago and we’re hoping he will be be training soon."

However, it is thought that stance could change if Batshuayi is included as part of the switch for Carroll.

Oh dear....lets just hope Carroll remains injured for the duration of the transfer window...............but there again we will still probably buy him :face_palm:

I think I am well in the majority on here when I say this is a real head scratcher. I was actually on board with pursuing Llorente in the summer. Thought his style would be interchangeable with Morata. We passed on him because he was 32. Well, Llorente at 32 much better than Carroll at 29, but neither moves the needle much I am afraid.

Gosh, why not sign Fernando Torres again? What's the difference? Where is Samuel E'to these days? How about Falcao? Loic Remy? Demba Ba?

Or better yet, perhaps we should have retained Lukaku, Salah and DeBruyne instead of rushing them all out the door?

I can live we selling the likes of Salah, etc but when compounded by some of low level signings, it makes it hard to take.

Andy Carroll? Really?

Come on you Chels, you can do better!!

I am so still so at a loss on this one, I am following my own post with another.

If we do sign him, surely it is just so we keep for the rest of this year, right? Is it a move to give us depth and rotation with Morata with all of the competitions so we can keep Morata healthy and not wear him out? He is quite fragile. Perhaps they feel we can get an extra win or two and that could be the difference in finishing top 4. By the way, once everyone determined they cannot allow crosses into the box for Morata, they have shut him out pretty much. Costa all feet and no headers. Morata all headers and no feet.

Agree on your thoughts regarding Carroll, but Falcao would actually be useful.  Absolutely on a tear at Monaco, hard to judge his time in England as I don’t think he ever got settled.

I do not disagree. The 2015-16 season was a complete disaster from day one. Actually thought Falcao showed some good effort and some pace scoring a goal or two early in the year in losses. Then the ship started sinking fast and he was quickly forgotten as we started seeing the likes of Traore, Pato, Remy, etc. We are better than that bunch today certainly.

I was never saying I’d start him up front but if we are lacking goals he’s a proven goal scorer and I was questioning why we wouldn’t go after him. It’s really just a comparison of the two.  If we bought Carrol do you think we’d play it to his feet? We’d create chances, or try to, that suit our players needs/skills.

If he plays, it will be Dave crossing into him, a tactic that has worked a few times, but proper teams have now sussed

Ha ha, yes me and one of my son's went, when we got home saw my other son who couldn't go and started up that chant.

When was Emenalo bad?

We've had a long list of striker misses when Emenalo was here so love this angel in hindsight thing. Etoo? Remy? Ba? Pato? Falcao?
