Agreed. Conte needs our support more than ever now. He may not having the backing of the board (allegedly), but I for one appreciate what he has done for the club.

It isn’t that simple, Conte has clearly lost the players and looks disinterested. He shouldn’t get a let off because he won the title last season. For me I think it’s for the best that he goes, it’s clear he doesn’t want this anymore.

Having some time to think it over a bit, during Baka's time when he was on the pitch, he gave the ball away three times in horrible positions, and should have resulted in probably two goals for Watford.  It was criminal the things he was doing out there.  For Conte to play him without seeing what is obvious to everyone, even someone like me who has virtually no football nous, is just hard to believe.    If I did not know better, Conte is basically asking to get fired and to get a payout.  

Think we have issues all over, starting with the head of the snake in Roman. How he's let Marina or whoever is in charge of transfers go about the last few windows is clearly not working.

That leads onto the board themselves who continue to undermine conte's efforts, not supporting him after last season is a joke!

Then there's conte himself and his stubbornnes with tactics and starting 11. Without getting to in depth I'll say one name Bakayoko!! How he starts still is beyond belief.

Lastly...the players themselves need to take a long hard look in the mirror and stop spitting there dummies, not many look worthy of wearing the shirt right now.

There's so much mess in the club I'm not sure where to go, I like conte but a change in manager might save top 4 but the club needs sorting from top to bottom if we're ever to defend a title and maintain our status as a top European club.

Cahill is a good defender if you set him up right, play him today next to a prime JT and he will do the job. He is only as good as the whole defense is performing.

This season he can be solid for 3-4 games and have one where he was exploited and everyone jumps on him, where was the praise when he was doing well?

Bakayoko had put in a couple of improved performances recently though. I don't think anybody could have seen the trainwreck of his performance tonight coming.

This is the problem. Even if Conte did get the sack, who can come in and fix the issues when we have so many average players in our team? This isn't like previous times, there really isn't much in this squad.

There are currently only 3 players who i think are consistently good enough to keep us challenging at the very top (Azpilicueta, Kante and Hazard. A lot of people will say Courtois too, but i don't think he's a good enough shot stopper, i also think his decision making when charging out is poor) The rest have either lost their legs, got found out or were never good enough to begin with. There are too many mid table players in this squad, it reminds me of Liverpool's squads over the two decades. A few world class players, but the rest of the squad is full of mediocrity. I don't think it's enough to secure a Champions League spot these days, there are too many teams fighting for it. Tottenham and Liverpool have way too much momentum now and United are stable enough to secure that top 4.

Rudiger is much better than Cahill.

Has there been a worse signing than Bakayoko in the PL by a top club....I cannot think of one.

he had one half decent season yet someone thought he was good enough to spend 38 million pounds on, he plays every game , this can’t be Conte choice I don’t believe that. The players know he’s poor, Watford certainly knew it, every Chelsea fan knows it.

I am one of the very few who will defend Cahill but he is miles past his best and should be nowhere near our starting XI. Similarly Luiz. He shouldn't even be called a defender because he isn't now and never has been. Both of them were garbage tonight as Rooney and Carragher rightly pointed out in the post match analysis. Both of them need to be out in the summer as a priority.

Rudiger I'd disagree on. Not the finished article for sure, and no garuantee he ever will be but he has shown potential IMO and deserves to be playing.

I have wondered if Conte sometimes plays players like Baka to say to the board, ok if you give me this then im going to play them no matter what and you see the results you get.

Way back in March last year when we was getting linked with Bakayoko, i was saying i didn't see what the fuss was about and thought he was the weakest out of Monaco's players. I didn't want us to sign him because i thought his weaknesses were so clear to see. Every weakness i seen, Watford exploited tonight. He's lazy, his touch is poor, he crumbles when closed down, he plays blind passes back to the defense, and he fouls players WAY too often. The evidence was there to be seen last season, but we went ahead and signed him anyway. All of our midfield choices would have been a better choice this season, including the players we sold / loaned (Matic, Chalobah, RLC) and even including Ampadu (a 17 year old) and David Luiz (a CB)

Nobody else wanted Bakayoko, we got him uncontested as far as i knew. I'm sure Monaco were very happy to get £40m out of us.

Cahill relied heavily on JT he has never been a leader and has been accident prone both for Chelsea and England, he has had a good run but it’s over and time to move on, he is no longer Chelsea standard, perhaps he could join up with JT at Villa be a good move for him.

From his interview tonight it’s obvious Conte does not rate Barkley either,

You just have to look at the results since Christmas. This has been coming for weeks. There's something badly wrong. I think the Board has some responsibility for the situation but we need change. Soon.

It's been all season that we have not looked the same team. Just look back to October when we played Marco Silva's Watford at SB. They played us off the park and we fortunately won 4-2

The worst back to back results (0-3,4-1) since 1995.

and there was me thinking the Bournemouth result represented a new low in recent performances. God help us over two legs against Barca with their movement and fire power.

Quite honestly  i been thinking for while this team wont even make top 4 this season,  do you think Blues will hold on  for top 4?  what went wrong so fast since title run.

I have to agree. How does a man who has moped around since the start of the season motivate a team through a bad patch.

I don't blame Conte one bit for this shambles that he is currently being forced to endure! He's been let down by the players and the board. Do you honestly believe players like Bakayoko, Drinkwater and Barkley are his choice? ??  he has been handed a sow's ear by the board and told to make them a silk purse out of it! It makes me so bloody angry.  Man City and others look at the situation in their house and decide it needs updating, so they pop into Harrods or Fortnum & Masons to do their shopping, what do we do? - we have a look in Homebase or Argos during the January sales!!!  He earmarked 5 signings he wanted in the summer, including, Bellotti, Danio and Alex Sandro and what do we get?.... players that can't get a starting place in their own club because they're cheaper by a couple of million quid.

Don't believe for one minute that he has that much control over who leaves and who comes in, that's all decided upstairs and then he's told about it, and that includes players going out on loan, it's been like that for a long time now, (I happen to know that as a fact from a former board member of about 8 years ago) Conte has consistently criticised the clubs transfer policy, claiming we don't have enough quality in depth for a long season in which we are expected to be challenging for honors, well now he's been proved right. He can only play the players he has at his disposal, and at the moment he has very little to choose from. So if you want to be pissed off at someone, get pissed off at the board and not the manager
