Disgusts me to say it but think Liverpool will do it this year. We'll make top 4 after a slow start and Utd will have an absolute melt down under Mourinho.

Spurs haven't freshened their squad, Mourinho is in the midst of another meltdown with United, Arsenal's defence is still awful and I'm not sure on Emery as a manager however their midfield and attack is reasonably impressive, think they could surprise a few. Liverpool and City are favourites for the League this season, I think we will finish either 3rd or 4th.

Squad improvement will decide on wether we have what it takes to get a top four finish. We are handicapped with the Europa League, playing a new style and our main players won't be properly available due to little or no pre season till mid Sept( for once the international break will be welcome). As it stands we may get a fourth place but a fifth is more likely and I wouldn't be surprised if we chose to give the Europa League a proper tilt after Christmas. The next 10 days though could change all that.

Really unsure and not expecting anything special from this season. Don’t think I’ve felt like this since early 90s under Porterfield. Will be interesting to see the gate figures after a few games if the start is not good.

I think 4th is fair.  We would have to be at our absolute best all season to break into that top 2.  3rd is reachable, but I think with a new manager and the teething problems that comes with it, 4th would be a great result for us.

If I’m honest I think we will miss out on top 4. I feel it will take time to adjust and the board so far haven’t really backed the manager. Nothing new there tho.

1st City

2nd Liverpool

3rd United

4th Spurs

5th Us

6th Arsenal

I don't know why you feel it's that bad ?

We just had a poor season in the league and yet still finished 5th, 7pts above le arse.

91-93 finished 14th and 11th. Behind Arse spuds.

I hope there is a lot of player activity going on in the background.

With players from last season not working out and other important players futures in the balance. I think the squad needs strengthening.

Also a change in formation with a lot of players not back from the World Cup is also not helpful.

I'm in the optimistic camp and apart from Liverpool and City I don't see any teams stronger than ours.

That said City like us have always struggled to defend a title and given they haven't really added any new players to increase the players determination for another season like last I expect their performances to drop from last season.

Liverpool have a lot of players that need to settle but they have done their business early and are one of the luckier teams with regard to the World Cup, I do have question marks over Klopp and the teams bottle so I reckon they will fall short.

Arsenal will have a New Manager bounce and I can see them finishing above Spurs and United especially as their squad was so bad last season almost none of their players got to the later stages of the WC, expected an upset in the opening game against city for that reason.

Spurs have not signed anyone and are going to really struggle in the first month due to the World Cup, also given their reliance on a few players all of which seemed to pick up niggles or have a prolonged world cup I think fatigue or injuries will hit them over the course of the season. They also have to adapt to a new incomplete stadium which can cause issues. I reckon they have a real chance of dropping out of the top 6 all together.

Man U are entering full Jose implosion mode they have a strong and deep squad so I can't see them being as bad as we were under pissed off Jose but if his mood were to continue it will effect the players. 1 reason why we really shouldn't give United Willian.

Think we might see a rogue team pop into the top 6, given I like Marco Silva as a manager I'm going with Everton.

Don't think the gate figures will be affected as there will always be a foreigner who will snap up the tickets. Away support will always sell out, as most people realize that it is the only real proper football experience these days.

Like you though Richard, not expecting that much. Even though we have had years of success, I still know Chelsea of yester  year. Feel better now that Conte gone, he just caused an awful smell around club last season. Roll on Sunday at Wembley and the return of my football match day fix

Pretty much how I see it, although y*ds might make 6th, we are the un predictable ones here though, but we are Chelsea and in the last 15 years don't do two bad seasons in a row

I'm expecting a slow start, but I still fancy us for 2nd. Assuming no last minute departures before the window closes, we still have the 2nd best team in the league after City, and although the dippers will be pushing again this year I reckon we can finish ahead of them. United look totally demoralized and their team frankly looks quite sh*t, Spurs are due an off year and the Arse have brought in loads of ok-ish new players and the new manager and I'd be amazed if they immediately became a serious threat. Seriously, have a look at their first team squad (https://www.arsenal.com/first-team/players), is there anything scary about that bunch? I've never even heard of half of them.

I think we will end up in fourth or fifth place. In my opinion we lack that third quality player in central midfield, left back and  attacker who scores goals.

If we miss out on top 4 this year, it will be down to our attack.

Willian and Pedro are very hit and miss on the right.

Barkley and RLC have so much to prove in that attacking midfield role, i dont think either have a good enough final ball.

last but not least, morata takes about 10 chances to score, Giroud is too slow, and Batshuayi scores goals, but needs serious work on overall game.

It's going to take some serious work on the training ground for sarri to fix these issues, and his success will determine whether or not we finish in the top 4 in my opinion.

City and Liverpool look streets ahead of the rest, so I'll be amazed if they're not the top two. No doubt Jose will grind and bore his way to get Utd another top four place. We might scrape top four but the lack of goals pre season is a bit concerning. If we don't get top four, unless the season is a complete disaster, I hope we give Sarri another season to try and get us where we want to be. At long last we have a manager who puts a premium on not just winning, but trying to win playing great football.

Grow up

Is that why you used * in the middle of the word? Do y*u do th*t a lot to ra*dom inoffe*sive wo*ds?

And the fact that Spurs fans have for various reasons embraced an anti-semitic description of them - totally makes it OK...

I'm not sure what is worse: the anti-semitism or the not owning your anti-semitism - this pathetic, school boy, "you mis-heard me Miss I didn't say that" bollocks.

It is immediately filtered out, just as sh*t is, so I’m afraid your very wrong there pal.

So sorry to have offended your PC sensibilities......

Oh and for the record there’s Jewish blood in me.

Ha-ha-ha. And some of my best friends are black...

And also black people in Tarantino movies and rap music use the N word. And also it was in Huckleberry Finn.

So it's totally OK to say it, I mean it affectionately.

PC gone mad, I tell you. Can't even call a spade a spade any more...
