Little Fekir

Doesn't sound like this is happening, which is a shame. We are really going to need goals from AM. I'm not sure Willian, Hazard and Pedro can make up for Morata's dismal finishing.

That said it would perhaps mean more chances for CHO.

lets be honest if you had said to me on Sunday we'd sign Kovacic and Kepa i would have laughed at you.

Never?? say never with our club.  Especially at the end of a window.  Yes admittedly i thought we were finished for business, but this Fekir stuff wont go? away??

True, with two players over the line, that does leave us tomorrow to bring another one in potentially...could happen I guess.

Pedulla has just said that we are working relentlessly to close this Deal tomorrow, we are offering 60, Lyon are asking for 80, we plan to offer a player to close the gap in valuations, probably Zouma.

I am Very optimistic about this

I know he has a tick next to his handle but is he actually reliable?

“Chelsea pushing very hard for Fékir. They want to end the market with a statement in attack. Chelsea offer €55-60m, Lyon want €80m. Chelsea ready to offer a player to power the price. (Zouma, most likely.)”

Maybe...just maybe.

Michy Batshuayi’s entourage have confirmed that the player’s move to Valencia is just hours away from being finalised. [El Desmarque]

That for me is the biggest sign that we will be signing an attacking player. Sounds as if Fekir or Martial is most likely. No way wouldn’t we let Bats go without a replacement.

More reliable for Serie A than Ligue 1.

I don't really expect this to go through because apparently Fekir is not enthused about playing in the EL and there has apparently not been any negotiations with Chelsea as a result.

Still, if this went through that would be fantastic provided that he stays fit.

I am literally praying we aren't goign with Morata, Giroud and Abraham.

Hypothetical; but if Morata got injured or giroud, Abraham is our plan b off the bench.  And he wasn't rated by the Swansea fans, and has been proper poor in pre season IMO.   I was curious why Batshuayi got no run out Tuesday though

Don't be silly, more like Morata and Giroud.

Whichever, its poor and not enough goals.  Without sounding spoilt and ungrateful, we need an attacker tomorrow.

Only one sort of linked is martial. Don't think fekir would be an option as a striker. So actually if batman goes against  then your options are morata, giroud and hazard obviously lol.

Zouma and Willian out, martial and fekir in. Boom great window.

Martial/Willian was the deal i would have put my mortgage on prior to window opening.  Think he stays now unless some blockbuster moves  happen tomorrow

Fekir strikes me as a Mata-type player; skilful, decent goalscorer but lacks the pace to be a top top threat. I think he would still fit in really well and would be a major statement of intent, but there will be better players available next season.

Bloody hell Chelsea, where were you all summer? It’s like we came alive last few days.

It really is true when people say there’s nothing quite like a deadline that makes you click.

If we get Fekir, and we probably won’t, I would see us as top 3 material. Hopes sty’s alive for another 24 hours. The underlying truth is we also have quite a bit of selling/loans to get done. Abraham staying was a bad sign.

He was, my girlfriend is a swans season ticket holder and every one I have spoken to or sat with loved him and hated the fact that Andre Ayew was being picked ahead of him.

A lot of people cite it as the reason they got relegated

That wasn’t my impression. He was very poor for them most of the time.

His horrific showing against Lyon the other day reminded me of lots of his Swansea games. Terrible first touch, not imposing himself on the game and failing to be any kind of a threat.

It sounds harsh and supporters tend to overrate our own youngsters but don’t tell me anyone here would want Abraham in the team if he came from like being second choice for Burnley.

No I agree with you in that he could do with at least another season of development before he is considered as a proper first team option and in my pre season post you can see I don't think he is ready. However, given we are in the Europa League and with the rest of the cups I don't see why that extra development season can't be here and I think a season under Sarri would do him wonders.

I also don't agree that his first touch is is terrible, at Swansea it certainly wasn't and I don't think it was on Tuesday although that might have been less noticeable live.

At Swansea he definitely look the business at the start of the season, but then he picked up a knock and Swansea started to nosedive in performances (Jordan Ayew and Mawson at this point were the only players putting in respectable performances). At this point even when he did play Swansea looked a better side (or at least that was the general consensus), This was owing to his touch and link up play being very good (relative to the other options) and him being a presence up top which neither Ayews provided. But they still had the issue that there was a chasm between midfield and attack and given Swansea were not progressing the ball forwards quickly, meaning there wasn't ever any space to exploit and chances were limited.

The amount of times I heard 'eughh we are starting Andre again, he has been pants, why aren't we starting Abraham' was ridiculous.

Absolutely fantastic window if that was the face. Personally cant see all 4 of those happening, bu even if 2 were to happen, it would be a great window.

No hope of Fekir now, Lyon tweeted that they are presenting him and the World Cup to their fans this weekend.

Looks like our business is done for the summer.

Onward to Huddersfield.
