Isco

Doesn't mean we should be attempting to sign their squad players though.

I’m with you on that but sometimes a good player doesn’t fit the system or is out of favour with the manager that place is a talent pool so on occasion you can get a top player that would suit our needs but not theirs. For years a prime bale wasn’t played, if his wages were so ridiculous a PL club would surely have bought him and he improves any team

Dont think Isco would be a good signing for what we do. I don't think he's reliable enough defensively to play in the middle, pressing high. Offensively, the guy is incredibly talented but don't think it works out well for both sides, personally.

Might have worked alongside Kovacic/Kante. if we had a proper DM, instead of a deep lying playmaker like Jorginho. I rather we save  our money though, for Sancho, Werner and a quality left back in the summer.

He is a 10 though and he is an upgrade on Mount. I doubt Madrid will be asking for anything over £50m which is a snip for a player of his talent.

I won’t be surprised if he ends up at City next season as a replacement for Silva which will be a nightmare pairing alongside De Bruyne.

Not directed at you personally but there is a weird fetish with a 10 who presses hard rather than creates.

side note: Had a look at De Bruyne’s stats and they are the most ridiculous ones I have ever seen for a footballer. 70+ goals & 117 assists in 267 appearances; bet he was/would have been hounded out for not pressing enough.

But he presses for City, they all do, its a big part of Pep`s footballing Ethos.

He`s one of the most inconsistent players around, he makes Willian look solid. It would be a huge mistake signing him.

Not sure where these silly rumours have come from but this isn't The Chelsea 2000 - 2010 model where we would possibly sign burnt out or injury prone big name players (shevchenko, Veron etc) this is the new Chelsea buying young and  hungry with loads of  potential players. Isco for heaven's sake what a bullsh*t signing that would be.

Sorry didn't mean to suggest that we needed him. I think RLC could easily get to his level assuming the injury heals. I like Mason too. Very different players but good at different things.

For me I'd go for someone deeper in midfield, ideally with a left foot. I think for us to reach our potential playing how Frank has us playing Jorginho will probably need to be moved on. He has a lot of strengths but the lack of pace to cover in behind the high press is just a killer.

I have said in the past that Jorginho is a player to build a team around, if his role is to be less than that then he must be sold. So I have no problem with Jorginho being sold, the problem was always that in a short time period he wasn't actually used like in the previous season as he was coming from the bench and his impact and game influence was very minimal when he had that role and that's a basically wasting a player away and not using him correctly which results in the long term in the club being in a bad state, that is paying good wages for a bench player that isn't contributing enough and it's also bad for the player that will have his reputation lowered down, which in turn leads to other trouble when the club eventually is forced to sell the player.

It's an idea to change the type of players that the squad needs as the e.g. DM instead of a deep-laying playmaker, another idea can be in fact to add Isco that would offer more options in attack which we have been lacking this season specially when it comes to breaking down defenses.

Didn't We Get Kovacic From Real, Who Was Basically Just A Squad Player Too

Can't believe this rumour has got 3 pages on here. Thankfully this deal has to hopes Bob hope and no hope. Imagine if we blew £100m on isco and Zaha what a waste.

Zaha is a waste, Isco would immediately make us better. We have a side with not enough technique and creativity, Isco adds that. Abraham would immediately get better entry, and we lack a threat in the tight space when teams sit back on us.

Those calling him a squad player... he is 27, and started 2 out of the last 3 champion's league finals9(obviously RM didn't make it last year). As well he played every minute for Spain in the last world cup. He's class, and a player that would help us more than any we're rumored with make top 4 (even Sancho - though admittedly, Sancho is probably the better long term buy). Our squad player buys from RM over the years haven't been bad; Makele, Kovacic, and even Morata, at least we got value for him. It's the Drinkwater's, Barkley's, Zappacosta's, Bakayoko's that we'd be better off avoiding which is what any link not named Werner, Sancho, or Isco is.

We got a boon from the youth, no need to add filler, add a player.

So Isco would send Mount to the bench, if I understand his qualities?

I say that as I have not seen him in physical challenges or running back to defend.

Frank puts a little too much emphasis on that IMHO, Willian more grit than creativity, needs space to work well, same with Mount, same with CHO (but he's a touch better in tight space). I would have guessed before the game we'd have trouble scoring, we don't have creators out there. Mount doesn't win near enough balls to play a man down in the attacking third.

I don't know how much truth is there about the Isco, but he will be better than Mount and Barkley right now. With all the respect and love to Mount, when did he become the undropable? He hasn't be good for weeks or month now, and again there's no disrespect on a guy in his first season with the first team. He needs competition and better players around him, upsetting him by signing a better player is the last of the concern for the manager and the club.

To those of you that don't want Isco, he would, at the very least, create more chances than what we are now.  Who ever is in our midfield trio right now (Kovacic, Jorginho, Mount, Barkley etc) are just not doing anything in the final third.  We are struggling to break down teams, and no disrespect to them, who we should be putting 2, 3 or 4 goals past.  Isco would improve us, I have no doubts about that.

Agree we need something different not sure on Isco, took a look at this and he dribbles well, good penalty taker yet over hits some of his longer passes and no clips of him scoring from shooting in play.

He is undoubtedly talented yet think we have those skills already though perhaps not in one player, undoubtedly would link up well with Jorginho, Kovacic and Barkley.

The concern for me just now is scoring and perhaps his angled crosses and passes might help achieve that, just not sure.

Classy player reminds me of Mata, far better than what we have at the moment in terms of creativity and would most likely be available this month at a reasonable price, Think we should be looking at players producing better numbers in terms of goals & assists though.

Ziyech or Olmo can both play as a 10 or as wingers.
