They aren't attacking full backs. Alonslow doesn't have pace, and Azpi has gotten too used to being an overly defensive fullback. This is Azpi's first season as a RB in 4 seasons.

Giroud has been terrible. Somebody should tell him that not every touch needs to be a flick on. Just hold it and let others get involved.

Alonslow should be overlapping Hazard there. Instead Giroud is doing it, taking him away from central position. 

Credit to Hodgson, he can drill a defence.

We play a raking 40 yard cross field pass to be outside their area to then pass the ball backwards 40 yards to our central defenders.

Have we really got 4 defenders on the bench? It’s going to be a very long day

I’ll get stick for this but I don’t find our style of play this season that enjoyable to watch. It’s like tika-tala without the danger/end product. 

I just think it’s actually quite boring to watch the ball going from one touch line to the other.

 

I appreciate it’s only our first 6 months in a totally new way of playing so hopefully it comes good.

To be fair, gotta also give credit to Palace. They have defended and kept their shape well. 

So frustrating ! We seem to always want to walk into the 18 yard box. We have to be more direct and quick

Five, if you count the keeper. Arguably six if you count Kova as a non-shooting midfielder. Six non-forwards, in any case.

It’s like watching the same slow, turgid game on repeat.

So boring to watch.

Rubbish first half. Yet again, there is no creativitiy. Every time it's played into Giroud, he gives it away. Willian, Alonso and Azpilicueta aren't crossing the ball, and when they do, Giroud is nowhere to be seen and no midfielders are anywhere near the box to react. It's just the usual slow passing sideways with the move always breaking down.

Take giroud off and bring on morata I would say
