Will the let him serve his ban while he is injured? Or will they wait until he is fit again?

If it's the latter, they might have a very long wait and eventually forget about it.

They would probably have to invent a new rule for Reece James if they ever wanted to punish him for something like that "Only suspended when fit". In that case they could only suspend him for about 2 games a season.

Technically they have no insight into his availability for first team activity. That is up to our fitness team. I imagine any ban would be presented with immediate effect. Based on recent updates I doubt he would feature until towards the end of October anyway so hopefully any ban will be served before then. Still, even considering the dreadful decisions from the ref,  it was ill advised behavior with the new rules in place.

Let's get the punishment sorted out, last thing we want is he's fit to play, and get a 3 matches ban. I know emotions were running high, but for a non-participating player to get into trouble in the tunnel is just bizarre. Is the PL going to release the video since he's accused of a serious offence?

Not sure about your FA rules but for us in Australia, he serves his ban when injured. The rule is that a ban is served when you available for selection. If he is medically fit but being rested or eased back in, he can serve the ban during that time period.

If he gets more than one game we should tell the FA to go f**k themselves considering how the likes of Klopp has gotten away with the abuse he has fired at officials lately.

It'll be one game if anything. Think Van Dijk got an extra game added to his red card for his reaction.

As you said, anything more and we should be having words.

And turn a one game ban into a 2-3 gam ban?

Okay...so we have Reece out till 21.10. Chilly is out until end of October. Gusto is out next 3 games on suspension.

And now Reece might face a ban. So lets say he gets 3 games... he would be back 12 of November against Man City.

No matter how bad a referee is you keep your mouth shut and go on about things some other way or form.

Hasn't Gusto already served the first game of his ban after missing Brighton?

The red card covers all domestic matches.

f**k that, its not worked for the last god knows how many years of inconsistencies. I like that players/clubs are holding them accountable.

Refs are costing teams every week now with their inconsistent decisions, even with the help of VAR. They give out a little statement saying they got it wrong and then move on like nothing happens. As much as i hate Liverpool and i wouldn't have wanted Chelsea to look so bitter i'm glad they've called PGMOL out in their statement last night and i hope serious changes happen in football soon.

Refs are w**k over here and they need telling.

I don't think targeting individual referees is the answer, it's not going to make referees better, and the scenes of fans chasing after Antony Taylor and his family at the airport is what nobody wants to see, thus going back to Jose's actions against him behind doors. I actually think Liverpool did the right thing with that over the top statement, worst they get is a fine and warning, most likely they will get a couple of good calls in coming game to balance the bad calls. I don't recall Poch or anyone from the club even debating the sent off post game. so what James did was just asking for troubles.

Fans have a fair reason to dig out refs, they make mistakes and some are absolutely dreadful at their job.

But they dont make anywhere near as many mistakes a the players and coaches do each game. And they spend 90+ minutes trying to figure out whether something is a real foul or just more players conning them. Coaches have no arguments either, they send their teams out with an aim of conning and cheating them as much as they can get away with. Strangely Klopp didnt seem as bothered by VAR decisions or ref decisions that went their way, and there have been a hell of a lot more than have gone against the gormless pricks team.

I'm ok with in-field refs making mistakes, that's just part of the game. It is annoying if your team ends up losing, but that's just human nature. But, when you have two refs that have come out and freely admitted to have made conscious choices to be detrimental to one team (Chelsea in this case), then that 'human nature errors' becomes conscious bias and has to be called out. On the other hand, you have VAR, that was introduced to help refs with those 51/49 calls difficult to make and they are misusing it to a point where it is destroying the joy of the game. They are just plainly cheating or drunk when making some decisions. And, it is difficult not to have a dig at the VAR officials and it should be done. They have the technology and spend a lot of time reviewing some calls, ad they get it wrong in a significant number of occasions not to be suspicious.

The problem is IMO some teams DO without a doubt get preferential media treatment which I think influences some match officials. Case in point SKY Sports right now. It's Fulham v Chelsea kick off just 25 minutes away and all they are talking about is how badly Liverpool have suffered with the VAR decision against Tottenham. Video, slo-mo analysis Carjacker and Sir Frank just talking about it over and over and over and over again. Carjacker saying there is no precedent for what happened. Oh really! Where was the media uproar and analysis when Mike Dean admitted he effectively cheated against us? If this had happened to Chelsea, and it has, more than once, would they be doing this death by slo-mo analysis before a Liverpool game? No they feckin wouldn't.

I think vast majority online referees are just trying to do a job, and split second decision could go either way, so some mistakes do happen and acceptable. For instance, if the onfield referee gave Gusto a red, happy to move on, but not when VAR over rules without evidence of clear mistakes. But when you put 2with VAR with all the technology available and time to make a decision, they still got things wrong, then something needs to be done. Agree preferential media is a factor, and I think there are other factors that associated with viewings and money side of things. Every season certain teams seems to get good calls, to make the league more exposures and more exciting

While there's obvious bias in the media towards particular teams I said elsewhere that, for me the main difference is that Liverpool, the club, has made a big noise about it too. Did our Club make any noise when two refs declared that they had taken conscious decisions to cheat us, and in one occasion even putting some of our players into physical danger by allowing the dirty Spuds to kick them to the ground? No it didn't. The Club needs to start having a go publicly when there's a clear reason for it. It seems that we are trying too hard to get into the good books of the football authorities and these are just taking the piss and it is making no difference in how they treat us.

Good news. I literally thought they were waiting after the Burnley game to ban him. So at least he misses a game that he wouldn't have played anyway and hopefully he is back for Arsenal game.

When I see the £90k fine, it makes me think how fortunate these footballers are. That is pocket change to them. It would take me years to pay that. That is a hefty fine but he probably won't notice it. For instance that time that fraudster took £175,000 from Mahrez account and it took him around 5 weeks to notice it 😄
