April 18, 20197 yr this is a horrible performance from us second half - how can we be so Jekyll and Hyde? It's a lack of professionalism really, you don't see the best sides switching off like this

April 18, 20197 yr if we do qualify, we have no chance to win Europa League, all other 3 teams are much better than us. We are in really bad shape, from manager down

Disagree, I think the defensive side of kovacics game is solid, think he’d be very good in a midfield 2 alongside Kante
April 18, 20197 yr I just don’t think Barkley is ever going to fulfil the early promise he showed at Everton, I don’t know if it’s the injury he got or what but he actually looks like he’s regressed as a player since then. I actually forgot he was playing at times tonight. Such a shame as it looked like he could be a brilliant signing if he’d kicked on and fulfilled his potential.

April 18, 20197 yr Is there a shred of something (anything) that someone here can point to in this performance that shows any sort of progress from the beginning of the season? Edited April 18, 20197 yr by Boston Blue

I can't remember the last time we consistently played well for 90 minutes. The days we do play well, it only happens in one half.

I think he will always be a decent squad player, not so sure about regular. He won't be very good no matter what role he has under Sarri though. This system doesn't suit Barkley at all. England seem to get the best out of Barkley, they have him further forward and running at defenders rather than with his back to goal like he often is for us.
April 18, 20197 yr Emerson challenging for the ball - yellow. Prague players continually kicking Hazards ankle - no yellow. Makes sense that

I just feel like we’re playing the wrong players, we have one of the best midfielders in the world in Kante, a top box to box player in RLC and a decent playmaker in Jorginho, but the formation just doesn’t seem to fit them, as a unit. I’ve been patient with Sarri but surely he must be seeing there’s a mismatch with the formation and the players we have. You’re probably right in that to play a 4-3-3 we need new midfielders but on paper it should be much better than it is

That’s what he should be doing in that LCM role surely, getting the ball on the half turn and committing players. He rarely seems to do that in a chelsea shirt.

I would honestly give him another season.
