I wonder what was said at half time to make them come out and do absolutely nothing? We surrendered everything in that second half.

This group of players are incredibly complacent.

Just food for thought. Surely Sarri gave a speech before the game so should he be praised for the first half display?

Are the players tired? Are they just not arsed? Lacking leaders to pull the team through?

I think now our opponents just know they'll start better and it's making it harder.

This is something I bought up earlier in the thread, this is something that was happening before Sarri took over. We have been a one half team for a long time now.

We really lack a proper motivated captain. Someone that can impose his character on the team. Clearly the team and Sarri are not completely together. That said no manager has ever made Luiz perform consistently and he was awful with his distribution tonight. And why he is allowed to take those attacking free kicks is a mystery. I can only remember one success.

Palmeris use of the ball was poor failing to make the quick forward pass when it was  needed on several occasions, instead going back and confine us to that terrible to watch passing  play around our penalty area.

I’d like to see ampadu get  a run in central defence while rudiger is injured CHO will make plenty of mistakes but he will get better if allowed to relax on the pitch and not feel he has to score in the first 30 seconds. Cho, RLC, and ampadu won’t win us the league or even ensure 4th. But they could be the basis of the next gen along with rudigier, Christensen and pulisic.

‘Despite season long problems which are getting worse and not better there is still a lot to play for this season.  Like him or not there is no plan b for the rest of this season, so let’s get onboard with the plan a. It was disgraceful to hear the boos for Jorginho. Quite undeserved.

A few positive stats courtesy of the BBC :

Chelsea are the first English side to win 11 major European games in a single season.

Chelsea are the second Premier League side to reach 100 goals in all competitions this season after Manchester City.

Olivier Giroud is the first Chelsea player to score 10 goals in a single season in European football

So it's not all bad LOL

Why when the opposition has a corner do we bring everyone back in the final third.

Remember when Mourinho used to leave three up top? We scored lots of goals on the counter from corners from Cech being able to collect the ball in a clearer area and getting up field quickly.

The boo’s were from the away supporters because we were taking the piss with time wasting.

Costa didn't play in any of those matches.

Just a thought, I get the impression with both Costa and Terry that they are fighters, both on and off the pitch.

I think our current squad is lacking the alpha-male aggressive player that galvanises the rest.

Watched the 1st half , had txt commentary for the 2nd so didn't see 1st hand the 'meltdown' on the pitch

writing with a much cooler head today, its par for the course lately that 2nd half performance, at least CFC in the semi final and with cup football that's all to really care about

do I think it will get any better- no, seems we are on a roller coaster ride not only from game to game but from half to half now, haven't seen Frankfurt play this season but the pundits are bigging them up already, play like we did in the 2nd and we will struggle to get to the final, although I did  like Sarri in the post presser showing some passion for a change and saying he wanted to win this comp, so there may be hope for some pragmatism on the pitch from him yet

What I expect for the remaining games is for teams to pack it in against us in the first half keeping things tight, knowing that at the beginning of the second half we will be vulnerable to an increase in intensity and pressure, and likely fold when scored upon.

Well to qualify for The Europa Liga Eintracht had to beat Bayern in DFB Pokal Final. To get to this stage Eintracht defeated Inter. Talking about a banana peel this is it. I would say this is Die German West Ham.

Started very well, but than Second Half Syndrome kicked in and we looked like crumbling yet again. Scraped through in the end, but far closer than it should have been,
