The guy is so full of sh*t, he's hilarious.  "Told i couldnt share it at the time"  lol.   like he was "told July 1st Frank announced due to FFP"   absolute cretin

If he revealed the news, would he be outed because his real name is Carefree Youth?

So he was told the news, told not to share it, but admits it was done faster than he expected?

Why get worked up over it in the first place? They're all full of sh*t and Matt Law is no different.

Don't get me wrong Lampard has talent, but he has made a number of mistakes during his year with us.

Everyone is entitled to their views. I didn’t see much of Derby last season, so I’m interested in your opinion. What mistakes do you think Frank made?  While we are on it what did he do well? Did he change the Derby system? Did they perform above or below expectations? All I saw was the couple of premier league playoff games where derby were in the end unsuccessful.

Yes, Derby gave Chelsea permission to speak to Lampard on that date, but it doesn't mean Chelsea actually did open negotiations on that date or that Chelsea should have opened negotiations on that date either. He was on holiday with his family until the Friday just gone, maybe Lampard didn't want to talk business during his holiday, and maybe Chelsea didn't think it was appropriate to go chasing after him during his break. It's possible negotiations only started on Saturday for these reasons.  I think it's ridiculous to say we are lacking class when you don't have all of the details.

To be fair I’m pretty sure part of the reason he chose Monaco or wherever and Roman parked his Yacht in the same place wasn’t a coincidence, it was reported he went into the boat and discussed with Roman.

I’d assume the offer and deal was made then informally and now they are ironing out the details.

It was never going to be a 2 day job, Derby’s comp, the transfer ban means there will be back and forth about club targets and vision both sides will want guarantees, he has to pick his whole back room etc.

I wouldn’t put this down to marina trying to save 100 quid so Roman gives her a pat on the head, there genuinely is a lot to get done.

Matt Law is full of sh*t? He is almost always on the money when it comes to Chelsea news, he posted last night the deal has been agreed so I would expect the club to announce by the end of the week.

You can’t use Spurs trophy drought as a measurement of time because it’s never ending.

Poor Spurs. Football's equivalent of Brexit.

I reckon Lampard and the club "informally" agreed things weeks ago. via representatives or in the supposed meeting at st tropez. I have no doubt that via a 3rd party, he was told we wanted him and Sarri was off to Juventus.

Derby giving him permission to speak to us last week does not mean we paid his compo that day, if anything id suspect we told them we will be paying it for sure, and therefore could we speak to Frank beforehand.  Officially getting permission to speak is the endgame, its not done first like yrs ago (due to secret talks or whatever you want to call it)

The FFP theory was bollocks. As Mel Morris said, he didnt return from holiday until Friday so id assume Monday was the earliest he had talks with us, formally.  Hence Derby excusing him from training.   But in reality, Lampard is already our manager and has been for at least a fortnight IMO

Frank Lampard is our manager,  he is sat at home now with a copy of his Chelsea FC contract.  We just haven't announced it yet.

Who would have told them that? We're not exactly a club that tells the press anything, especially Marina Granovskaia, she never says anything. This is probably just the media making things up..........again.

That’s probably true it would have been a very closed meeting I just thought it was funny when I read it

someone else might have been at the meeting and talked. You would be amazed at how information gets around. Politics and business have proved that time and time again.  On the other hand it could be made up. Does it matter? His lack of track record as a manager and lack of experience are so blindingly obvious though that there is no point in asking that question. There is no answer to it and you wouldn't even interview him unless you had already decided to overlook t he fact that a guy can earn say 4 million a year with just one year's experience because he is Frank Lampard a club legend, as a player.

This is, most likely, going to be such a transition season it doesn't really matter who is manager. Alex Busby, Walter Winterbottom, Ferguson and Jose combined couldn't turn Morata into Salah or Aguerro, won't turn Pedro into Stirling, won't turn Christenson into Van Dijk, won't turn Kovacic into De Bruyne.  No way can you take 2-3 players from the Championship and turn them into a premiership winning team in a season. Hopefully though the season will be fun.

And maybe Frank will work miracles and I will eat my words. I hope so.

Brian Clough managed to do it.

I'm a firm believer that top managers are born not made. Next season will be tough for Lamps with the transfer embargo. The fans will give him a break, though don't expect it to last forever, memories are thin on the back of a losing streak. Frank himself will expect to be judged as a manager not a player. He will make mistakes and hopefully learn quickly from them but the slack he will be cut by the fans and board mustn't take away the competitive attitude that made him a winner. It will be a very interesting season, one that could snap Chelsea for the next decade.

Why not we had both those players and someone else turned them into that when we decided they weren’t good enough, I’m exadurating of course but there is truth to it, maybe someone like frank who will actually give players a chance and harness what they have, Salam did well at every club he played at as did KDB except Chelsea, I’m hoping frank can change that culture.

I understand that places and time are limited at top teir clubs but I think if frank believes in someone he will have the courage of conviction to give them a proper chance, I also think he won’t have his glued on 11 like we have had here for so long and will rotate more and that’s really refreshing.

What do you think my point is?

Frank wasn’t a double glazing salesman then started his football career last year at derby he has been in football at top level from childhood his dad was a player, his uncle was a PL manager his cousin was an England international, he is our top goal scorer ever.

Marina was a PA in an oil company with zero football background to say she has more experience in her role because she’s been a director a year longer than Frank a manager is not only nonsensical but innacurate, Frank started training to be a manager and getting his badges before she was director.

So to make it clear why it’s a bit rich coming from her she is the director at one of the biggest clubs in the world coming off being an assistant in an oil company asking a man with lifelong and family football engagement about experience, it’s called irony...add that in was tongue and cheek and that she probably never said it and hopefully your knickers will untwist

So because he was a footballer we shouldnt question his ability as a manager? Theres been plenty of great players who have failed massively as managers so his playing career doesnt really matter. The bit in bold is just incredibly stupid as it is in fact 100% accurate and logical, she has been in her role much longer than Frank has, you just cant see past her being a woman in football as usual.

For a club like us he wouldn't have to go far to find a suitable response, as he won the champions league as a player with RDM as an untested, wet behind the ears, manager.
