Chelsea's next manager - evergreen post

I must admit, we are coming across as quite amateurish (again) this summer. Kovacic still hasn’t officially been announced despite it being leaked on the website a few days ago, and him not being listed in the players leaving the club at the end of the month. What on Earth is the hold up with just releasing a statement confirming that we signed him?

I know Mel Morris loves spouting off to the media but again, we get more updates from the other club than our own. All these ITK’ers on twitter claiming it’ll be 48 hours, then the 48 after that, then the 48 after that... making out they know anything and aren’t just guessing makes me understand old @yorkleyblue points about social media.

I'm fine with the club not announcing anything until it's all done and dusted. I't the fans that need a good kicking for being so impatient. The one thing I like about the club being silent, is that you know when they do announce anything, you know it's official!

Kovacic is 10000% done. The club confirmed it through an article on the website, so what’s the hold up in just putting up an announcement? It is amateurish to post an article confirming something you’ve not actually confirmed yet. It’s very poor IMO.

As for impatient, our pre season starts on Wednesday and yet again we could potentially go in to it managerless. As long as it’s done before then, I’m happy but we knew Sarri was going a month ago. I’m sure there’s reasons behind the delay but we do seem to drag our feet more than other clubs in my opinion.

Pre season 30 years ago we moaned about electric fencing, now they moan about not being kept informed.

BIB: The club didn't announce anything, some trigger happy employee probably posted the announcement by mistake, hence the post being quickly removed. As for the second part of your post, the club has no obligation in keeping you in the loop about who or who they don't employ. Once the deal is done, they will announce it!

I don't think that's EB's point (correct me if I'm wrong EB), it's the fact we've seemingly left it so close to pre-season again. Of course there could be a variety of reasons and it could well be down to Derby and Frank rather than us... but there's nothing wrong with being exacerbated at the whole situation.

They were the days, and no pre season tours to USA or Asia, it was running up and down the sand dunes in Wales, in their mix and match le coq sportif training kit.

It seems strange that we employ experienced business people or ex-pros to carry out roles at Chelsea.  Reading this forum it seems half of the people here could get a deal done far quicker and much more successfully.

As for people moaning about Chelsea being the only team to 'do things wrong' or 'drag their heels' - That's only because you only follow Chelsea.  Every team has fans that moan about the way they do things.  The big difference at Chelsea is that we actually win things.  A lot.

Calm down and wait for it to happen.

It's happening.

Mel Morris says it's just a matter of time.

This one is done for all intents and purposes. To say i am excited would be an understatement.

Friendly matches you could get to and the Anglo Scots Cup though we never got through to meet the Scots.

We have a subset of very spoilt fans who make the rest look bad, I noticed this ever since I joined this board very spoilt subset of fans it's embarrassing at times.

Cue the queries "How much time? Our f**king board is clueless"

This is more complicated that we think, and certainly beyond the comprehension of most Twitter users.  Your not negotiating one contract with Frank, you're negotiating several contracts with the staff he wants to bring in.

And I don't think Frank will just say yes to a first offer.  He knows Chelsea.  He knows he needs to have every club expectation clearly spelled out, and he needs to be clear what those expectations are during the ban as well as after the ban.  He knows what happens to Chelsea managers after two years, and I'm sure he's looking to make sure what happened to them does not happen to him.  There are a lot of "what ifs" to work through.
