I remember his debut (think it was at Liverpool?) and thought he had everything to go on and be world class. For some reason he got very little playing time and just faded away. Next summer is going to be hugely important. The scouts need to be talking to Frank straight away and find out the types of players he's looking for and get cracking on that asp. Why stop at Morata, there are many other obvious ones we can see who we have absolutely no use for: Baka (linked to PSG) 30mill Drinkwater 15mill Alonso (linked to Atletico) 30mill Zappacosta (linked to Lazio) 15mill Zouma (linked to Everton) 25mill Jorginho (linked to Juve) 45mill Marco Van Ginkel 5mill Kenneth omerou 5mill Michael Hector (linked with staying at Sheffield Wednesday) 5mill Kenedy 15mill Mario Pasalic (linked to staying at Atalanta) 13mill Victor Moses (linked to Inter) 15mill Michy Batman 25mill Would still leave us with a squad of: GK: Kepa, big Willy, Blackman Fullbacks: Azpi, James, Emerson, Rahman CBS: Rudiger, Christensen, Luiz, Tomori CDM: Kante, Kovacic, Ampadu, Chalobah CAM: RLC, Barkley, Mount WF: Pulisic, Willian, CHO, Pedro CF: Giroud, Abraham, Brown With the exception of Jorginho I do not see any of the other sales leavings us weaker. Add those to a possible 50mill on morata and who has gone already would be around 400mill in sales.

We are a tight lipped club with a fairly solid lid on any leaks. I think if you analyzed anyone purporting to be ITK, they are probably wrong as often, if not more often, than they are correct. Obviously no club leaks everything to the press but you have journalists that don’t report until they get it off their club sources and they are right more often that wrong, for different roumors there are reliable sources that do break things and won’t report bollox: Matt Law - anything Chelsea he reports is normally solid he certainly has inside club sources. DiMarzio Gets it wrong sometimes but it generally seen as reliable for anything coming out of Italy Fabrizio Romano - same anything out of Italy Mohammed Bouhafsi - Any transfers related to French players, if this guy says it then it’s mostly spot on probably the most reliable of the lot. I agree we tend to give less scraps to the media than others or it could just be Liverpool, UTD etc have more journalists covering the club for longer and have better inside sources. I would almost guarantee tomorrow Matt Law will confirm Lamps has signed before the club announce it or at least a day or two before it’s announced, it’s not amazingly forthcoming for us sitting stewing waiting for news but as stated he won’t tweet until it’s confirmed.

The key is to know who's actually got some sources and who don't. There are some that are very good and some that are pretty good for keeping up with what's going on.

July 2, 20197 yr Lampard is the same age Jose Mourinho was when he took the job and older than Glenn Hoddle, Gianluca Vialli and Ruud Gullit when they were appointed by Chelsea. Lampard will be the first Englishman to manage Chelsea in the Champions League and the first Englishman to manage the club in 23 years.

Only a week tomorrow until our 1st pre-season match! ?

Only the 6th English manager to manage an English club in the CL group stages by my reckoning. A real mixed bags of names. Harry Redknapp, Bobby Robson, Gary Neville, Phil Thompson, Roy Harford

July 2, 20197 yr DCFC supporter Hi. I have been a little vocal on our forum regarding the amount of time either Chelsea/Lampard are taking making a decision on his potential appointment. Considering that we gave Chelsea permission to open talks with Lampard on 24/06/2019 I find both Chelsea and Lampard guilty of a lack of class and respect for our chairman/owner and DCFC We didn't have to give permission, but our Chairman was obviously aware that at some point this may happen - much earlier than anticipated. We as a club had to issue a further statement yesterday excusing Lampard and Morris from pre season training for 2 more days ! I would like an honest opinion on how you guys feel your club has/is behaving towards a fellow club?

If so, the talks have taken place on the first two available working days (i.e yesterday and today) ... seems reasonable to me. Your chairman is obviously in the loop, based on his interviews. And you're being compensated to the tune of £4M for the inconvenience of finding a new manager. I get the disappointment, but I don't think you're being hard done by in terms of the hiring process. Good luck for the coming season btw Edited July 2, 20197 yr by Sexyfootball
