I think Imran is stating we should have scored more, Mount and Pulisic had clear opportunities to score in open play but didn't.

That sounds like the story of the season or a broken record.

Harsh to criticize Pulisic after the break yet Mount does get a fair few chances he misses.

Let's hope Werner is more clinical.

Then goes on to claim united are better placed to challenge for a league title next season, because of there history, and the exciting tram ole is building.

I would very much like to know more about Ole’s exciting tram and why he’s building it. Is it to get out of Manchester quickly when it all goes tits-up?

Typo is more accurate than McLaren's opinion.

I said at the start of this thread that if Frank was able to achieve top 4, that it would be an incredible achievement.

It will go unnoticed by the media but look at the state of squad before the season. No one of us were excited about it and expected us to finish 5-8th.

Fingers crosses, we can cross the line and get the job done.

The City game was a really difficult game but you really have to give credit to Frank, he got it right. I slated him, many of us did, I wanted us to try and outplay City like we did last time, not give them any respect. And I think he took way too long to make subs but he just won a MASSIVELY important game for us and that has to be one of his best tactical performances. That and the Spurs away game against Mourinho, that was sheer brilliance from Frank.

If he manages to get top 4, my, what a job he's done. Amazing how so many people are forgetting this. I keep hearing "why isn't Frank getting the same criticism as OGS", the same OGS that has spent over 200 million and is still 5 points behind us while having a well established team. Frank has come in at the hardest possible time, I don't care what Mourinho says about that, Frank has the hardest job of any Chelsea gaffer right now. A transfer ban? Losing Hazard? Ageing squad? There's a reason why Sarri ran a mile when he could. Frank came in and really did the impossible, that's no hyperbole. Because remember before the season kicked off, how many of us and especially rivals were predicting our season? Everyone was saying outside of top 6, it was going to be a disaster, Mourinho 3rd season vibes. That couldn't be further from the truth, we've had all our best players injured and Frank has still managed to keep us in the top 4 all season.

Brillant post. I think we will actually finish 3rd after the city win.

Losing your best player, a transfer ban and having to integrate young players with 0 premier league minutes what frank has done is fantastic.

We have a very young squad and have made quality signings for next season. We aren’t that far of challenging again.

citys best players are getting older and Liverpool won’t keep up that level of performance season after season.

I think we will win the league in the next two years.

I watch us play and I know it's a matter of finding that piece to the puzzle. I like this project under Frank and I believe in it. The way we have played football all season has rivalled that of City, we move the ball well and we dominate teams. There's just a lack of quality and discipline there, that boils down to ageing players and immature ones.

Our attack next season will look really good with Ziyech and Werner. The attack and midfield is excellent, but it's the defence, everyone knows it, Reece James and Azpilicueta on the right side is perfectly fine. But the centreback problem has been a big issue all season, that and the goalkeeper and left back position. We MUST invest there, we wont win anything with that backline. Christensen just isn't suited to the style of play, Rudiger has been really disappointing, Kurt just isn't good enough in my opinion and Tomori looked very promising but he hasn't played in quite some time, even when he wasn't injured. If I were to get rid of some defenders, it would be Christensen and Zouma for sure, and Emerson has to be on his way out, useless and injury prone.

Five consecutive wins in all competitions. Our best run since October.

Well done to Frank for getting us a SF spot in the FA Cup final after wins against Liverpool and Leicester City, both fellow top 4 teams in the league.

His lineups have been frustrating as hell of late (all three midfielders out of position today aswell as the best one dropped) but he's getting better and better with his subs and in game reactions which is really promising.

He's winning games with Kante sitting behind 2 more offensive midfielders. Looks like a more advance tactical pressing game and it's working, teams can't adapt to it.

New master class by Lampard, the break helped us more than I could have imagined!

Looks like he has another opportunity to break his voodoo against OGS

Really need to win that one. Four losses to them in a season would be brutal.

Really tough draw though, they are developing into a very good team.

Will depend if OGS has grown some balls and will actually look to play Football instead of parking the bus and kicking the sh*t out of all our players.

Stylistically United are just a nightmare matchup for us. I think we will have to be tactical when we play them this time, don't try to outplay them, let them come forward and try to hit them on the break with our pace. They're not good at breaking teams down at all, they were atrocious against a 10 man Norwich and couldn't break them down in 30 minutes on tired legs.

We've seen average teams hit us on the break, so United having the quality they have, is it surprising they've had so much success against us really?

Make it a boring slugfest, if it improves our chances of winning so be it, but if we try to outplay them again we'll just get hit on the break, our defence is woeful.

Well every team has the right to play how they want, we just need to be clinical enough and we'll beat them. Thankfully we are not parking the bus anymore but we used to so we shouldn't be complaining when someone else does it...

I hope Frank has learned his lessons from playing Ole. 3/3 defeats.

Like others have said, the only way United win is when they sit back and park the bus. They’re poor tactically.

Frank is a guy I want for many years at Chelsea.
As a coach, he showed courage, a strong personality and great potential.
We have attractive football, young people emerging, a bright future.

But Frank is in his early days, he has his limitations too and a large part of his success will depend on the self-criticism he can do, he needs an assistant to work on all the defensive aspects of the game.

This is all too evident and should have been repaired in the middle of the season.
If he does that, we can only earn a lot, because in everything else he seems more than capable.

Frank's success will be our success.

But he has to be evaluated as a coach and not as a club legend.

I reckon if we prepare this game like we prepared like against City, Liverpool, or Spurs, we'd be ok. We need to be solid and be a bit cautious against them, let them have a crack at us instead of playing on counter. If we manage to score an early goal, the  game will change completely.

Franks grown a lot  this season you can tell I no longer even think about his lack of experience, he’s competent it’s as simple as that and next season he will have possibly the deadliest front three in the EPL with Pulisic Werner Ziyich.. one thing I love about him is how vocal he is in the media about for example Pulisic reaching Sterling, Mane, Salah levels and pushing the players on .. Barkley is the same he’s been garbage all season but frank has him fired up for the run in it reminds me of Jose how he seems to make certain players really step up with the belief he has in them think over the season Kovacic he was praising a lot and them Kova scores back to back goals and was just in the most ridiculous form, Mount Tammy and Reece too also Jorginho from pre season he praised a lot for work rate and attitude and ever since he’s looked like the best captain we have. He’s certainly a motivator and has us all the squad on side, he even dropped kepa and kepa gives interviews saying he wants to stay and likes Frank a lot.

United always kill us on the counter attack. Frank has to find a way to get around it, as they've done it to us three times this season.

We used to match up better against them when Ferguson was manager, but they've caused us big issues in recent years.

Probably best playing them at there own game, sit deep, let them come onto us, and exploit the spaces on the break, especially behind shaw.

It wont be a classic, but who cares.
