Jody reckons on the podcast that just before they were sacked, they had planned out the next 8/9 games and they all looked winnable. They were top at the start of the season and dipped with a tough run of games.

I have to say, I don’t think they were winnable. The team spirit had gone. They’d stopped playing for Frank unfortunately. The performance against Leicester was terrible. No fight. Very much like Ole’s last game. The death March.

Chalobah is already proving to be better than him in the same position though, £30m  in the bank and an upgrade ready to step in has proved to be good business.

Don't get me wrong, I really like Trevoh and what he's done so far has been nothing but excellence. But it's probably too early for such a statement. People tend to easily forget what we did in 19/20 season with a significantly weaker squad compared to this one, and Tomori was arguably our best defender during certain parts of that season. Just remember Ajax away or that screamer against Wolves.

Lampard must have had his reasons. That he didn't express them in public means little.

Frank continued to play most of the other younger players he bought through into the first team so Tomori must have done something for Lampard to lose confidence in playing him.

But Tomori went from having little fanfare around him to being sold for £25m largely thanks to Frank developing him at both Chelsea and Derby.

If he was still at Chelsea now it's hard to see that he'd necessarily get much playing time ahead of our other centre backs and given our defensive record to date this season I think we're pretty vindicated in our decision to sell him and Guehi.

Almost £50m in bank from selling centre backs but still having the best defensive record in the league? Don't think you can really argue with that.

I'm not saying he hasn't had his reasons. But the whole situation was strange given he was playing pretty well. So it certainly wasn't about bad performances. That is one of the reasons why I think Lampard's man management wasn't quite at required level.

Also, I don't think that Tomori would have got as much playing time as he needs right now if he decided to stay. But that is mainly because of Chalobah's breakthrough which the vast majority of us didn't expect to happen this season. Zouma had left and if we hadn't replaced him with Chalobah we would've been in a trouble.

i think Trevoh is more composed than Tomori and Tomori also early on in most games always had these lapses in concentration.. I think Trevoh has them once in two games .. On the basis of what i have seen so far Trevoh also is taller and as he becomes stronger would be a better fit..  but both are very good players.. and playing with Silva would be a gret education for TC. Likewise for tomori to play in a tactical league will help his progression too..

He’s just done an interview with Gary Neville in the Overlap. Pretty light hearted but great to see him again. You can find it on YouTube.

Next 9 matches after Frank's departure:

  • Chelsea vs Wolves (PL) = 27/01/2021
  • Chelsea vs Burnley (PL) = 31/01/2021
  • Tottenham vs Chelsea (PL) = 4/02/2021
  • Sheffield United vs Chelsea (PL) = 7/02/2021
  • Barnsley vs Chelsea (FA Cup) = 12/02/2021

  • At Madrid vs Chelsea (CL) = 23/02/2021

Interesting and they do look winnable fixtures. Unfortunately the form of the team and the manner of the defeats suggested that the team had stopped playing for Lampard. The Leicester defeat was shocking.

It was the City defeat that was the turning point for me, that first half was a criminally incompetent performance. And when that happens with one of the best defenders of this generation on the pitch there's only one place to look.

Really good interview - very insightful about his time as manager. He’s been quiet since he’s been sacked, I wonder if there was a one year clause which meant he couldn’t speak?

I doubt there was a clause that went for a year considering he was sacked in January.

This time last year we beat Leeds United 3-1 and things were looking great under Frank. After that, we fell away badly.

That Overlap interview was brilliant.

Strange how Gary Neville suddenly became likable in our 2012 Champions League after the semi, he's alright him, dug deep on some of the questions too.

I saw another one the other day after watching that one, it might've already been posted here before, but here it is even so. Got Joe Cole in too. Worth a watch.

He’s back! Got the job at Everton!

Get innnn

Could be looking at some of our young players he knows well, though maybe he does us a favour and takes some of our unused players.

Good luck to him, at the very least he'll be in a blue club. Now it's only fair to try to follow thier local derby at the same time as our match vs West ham is running, if he upsets liverpool it'll be hilarous!

Hopefully we’ll do him a favour and send him a few players. I wouldn’t be against players like Hudson Odoi spending a season on loan there. Maybe a good move for Gallagher too.

Would Hudson Odoi want to play for him again? Frank barely played him even when he had no other wingers.

Gallagher may be a good shout though, maybe Colwill.

Gallagher is ready to play for us next season.

Hopefully he'll decline.

Unless he's homesick or being made Frank's direct assistant (apparently Jody isn't following him this time) this wouldn't really make sense from Barry's perspective.

He seemed to like Ross Barkley - permanent transfer?
