Mason Mount

Featured Replies

Let’s be honest Reece and Mount only have to look at what we’ve given CHO to know their worth. A bit part youth product on £120k a week should have them asking for at least £150k

Timo Werner earns close to £300k a week. Havertz reportedly earns about the same.

Mount and James will ask for something similar to them in my opinion. Our wage structure is entirely messed up.

What kind of a message does it send to good players from the academy, when young players and a lump come in from lesser leagues at hugely inflated wages? Reece and Mason have both proved themselves now at the top and deserve to be paid equally to the incoming players, otherwise they too will look elsewhere in search of better rewards.

Yes they have proven themselves now and I'm sure it will reflect in their new contract. You don't think 200k is a good offer for James and Mount?

Havertz earns 150k a week from what i've seen

it's Malang Sarr on 120k that doesn't make any sense. Although i think how they reason is, because he is a free, they figure he will cost them 24M on wages over the entirety of his contract, and if they can sell him for 30M they just made an easy 6M profit???? + they have a squad player for all those years.

Firstly all footballer's wages are totally out of sync, personally though I think that 200k is the realistic starting point. Real were openly tapping Reece up after our game this season and will turn his head if we don't give him what he's worth on today's market.

I understand the maths, but I question what it does for squad harmony when inferior players like Saar and Niguez (not to mention Lukaku) are being paid so much more than far more talented and important players.

That is a good case as to why our wage structure is totally messed up. It shows players it's better to run your contract down and take the lump sum with increased wages than to be loyal. Therefore we have to make the package we are offering attractive enough to sign long-term.

i don't understand it either, it doesn't make sense

most likely it's the negotiating and trying to compete with rival teams that inflates the wages

this would seem reasonable to me

Ngolo 2023 290K (extend to 2024)

Mason Mount 2026 or 2027 150K-200K currently on 88k (expires 2024)

Reece James 2027 or 2028 150k-200K currently on 58K (expires 2025)

Koundé ????

Ben Chillwell 2025 190K

a Winger???

Kai Havertz 2025 150K

Pulisic 2024 150K

Mateo Kovacic 2024 150K (would like to see an extension till 2025 maybe with a pay-rise to ~170K)

CHO 2024 120K

Jorginho 2023 110K

Mendy 2026 100K currently on 52K (expires 2025)

Thiago Silva 2023 105K

Hakim 2025 100k

RLC 2024 60k

Emerson, Trevor Chalobah, Broja, Gallagher, Gilmour, Ampadu  i don't know their salaries

we get rid of Barkley, Werner, Lukaku, Sarr, Alonso, Kepa & Azpi (will free up 1.222.000 a week)

Rüdiger and Christensen are already leaving which frees up an additional 180K a week

this means we can afford to invest up to 1.4 million a week in wages, 340K of that already going to the Mount, James and Mendy extensions

that would leave us with around 1.05 million to pay 6 or 7 new players, so we could potentially get 7 players in on 150K a week and not have a significantly higher wage bill

oh i forgot Saul, he's on almost 200k a week, but the return of Gilmour, Gallagher and Broja will even that out probably

Not impressed with cheap 2nd rate gutter-sh*te journalism, hardly in the door, and Chelsea are f**ked for next season, Mount to City, Reece to RM, ffs give it a rest…

Personally I'd like to see us sell everyone who is earning over £150K a week, and then that becomes the new ceiling. Football is in dire need of an absolute salary cap.

And to be honest £150K a WEEK is f**king ridiculous anyway ... 🙂

That idea would only even get off the ground if fans boycott games.

To be honest I'd rather it went on players as opposed to saving billionaire owners money anyway.

150k is a lot? That's about 7-8m a year.

Top musicians and actors earn more than that. Footballers also stop earning in their 30s.

Ed Sheeran earns 700-800k a week. Tom Holland makes about 7m shooting one film.

If I'm Reece or Mount I'm asking for 300k pw.

I see them both renewing at about 160-180k a week personally. Probably a tasty signing bonus too.

Can see it being 200kpw.

When sh*t like Werner and Lukaku are being paid extraordinary amounts they have leverage (and rightfully so) to demand a higher salary all things considered.

Signed both of them players in their 'prime' for large transfer fees, its wrong but that automatically gets you more wages. Both of these lads are still young, i imagine Mount will likely get slightly more than Reece too with him being an attacker. Defenders are so often underpaid compared to the attackers. You'll be even more shocked when you find out how much Foden and Saka are on. Stick Mount on £200k+ now and he'll be on £400k+ in a few more years. That's how Barca got in trouble in the first place.

Barca's issue was that they were rewarding everyone with ridiculous salaries which destroyed the wage structure. Bloody Sergio Roberto was even on 300kpw. Sergio Roberto!Barca and Real knew in the past they would get bailed out by the Spanish government. but not this time.

Rewarding players for performance and loyalty will likely set a good precedent vs a bad one.

just give them 150k a week with bonuses based on performance and reaching targets

You think Reece James will accept that knowing Real would offer him double that? There's club loyalty but there needs to be some common ground.

There's got to be a sweet spot + bonuses. Still think 200kpw on a 5 year deal + bonuses for reaching targets is the best way forward.

Last time I looked into our wages our top bracket was 150kpw with some exceptions

mounts on around 80kpw so 150kpw or less plus bonus structure should suffice surely?!

FFP in all although a shambles also new owners will be going through all of it may seek reductions/adjustments on new contracts for all ofc could also increase it

should be wage caps, mental amounts regardless

i wouldn't be against 200k a week + bonuses. But they will never start with that. He's on 58K a week and has 3 years left. So either he will miss out on let's say an extra 100k a week for 3 years, which is almost 16 million pounds (if he tries to run out his contract) or he signs a new one which runs till ~ 2027, collects a sign on fee and has his wages almost tripled
