Such a weak mentality of armchair "fans" to question players motivation. Rüdiger was one of if not the best and consistent players this season and played a crucial role in the last one as well. Show some respect - he did infinitely more for this club than some random poster on the internet with a certain negativity syndrome. There I said it.

He will be stronger we get into way too many for him to bother.. the media will make a thing about it till we win the next one and then it will be like nothing happened.

One that disappointed me most is Rudiger. He is good at pens and did not have the stones to be in the first five.

I get Jorgi, James and Alonso being on the 5, of course they should be inspite of Jorgis last one, but Toni is better than Dave and Ross at pens.

What a cowardly way to end his career here.

I highly doubt Toni is better than Ross at pen. Ross n alonso are our two best ball striker.

Toni knows how to strike a ball, a poorer man's Alex yet a hard shot.

Yeah and I thought Ross was subbed on to take penalties..

That's a fact and not up for discussion. 😄

Shows how ruthless TT is: bring in RLC, late-ish at that, don't trust him enough to take a pen so sub him off again to bring in Barkley who TT doesn't trust enough to actually play any meaningful minutes but who apparently is better than most in our squad at taking pens.

Not really sure what happened in regards to Barkley.

He was never going to be a regular starter this season but he done quite well when he played a few matches in the autumn period but since the Burnley game he's only played 4 games (5 including his cameo for pens in the final).

I saw a bit of Barkley when he was a t Villa and he was ok yet never hammered a shot, I suspected he was wary of aggravating an injury and then see him bury his penalty with power the other night.

Not sure what his situation is.

I don't see Gallagher replacing Mount see them more as complementary.

Gallagher through the middle and Mount playing an inside right or left role.

It will need discipline from the other midfielder and wide backs to watch the counter when Gallagher runs through the middle perhaps on to a through ball from Mount to test the keeper from the edge of the box with Havertz, Broja or Lukaku ready to pounce.

Standards of this club have well and truly dropped through the floor indicated by Mount winning POTS; a player who time and time again bottles it against the top teams; yes he’s brilliant against bottom half teams but other than that, Silva should have won it for his relentless commitment at 37.

Absolute bollocks.

I can see why Reese did not win POS due to his long injury lay-off, but Rudi and Silva were better by a lot.

I agree. I can kind of understand why fans wouldn't vote for Rudiger, maybe there is a bit of bitterness about him leaving, but Thiago Silva not winning it is crazy really. His time with us is getting to the point where I would call it underrated. His performances over the past 2 seasons have been more consistent than any other at the club, but he doesn't have a single individual award for it. It seems like even the fanbase aren't noticing how good he is.

The way our attack has performed this season, it feels wrong that any of them would win any awards really. Every single one of them have bottled big moments this season, and that includes Mount.

Chatting some heavy bollocks here. The disrespect shown to Mount by so called Chelsea fans is laughable.

It would have been better ‘for Mount’ if Silva had won, shouldn’t be winning it off the back of this season, hopefully he doesn’t think that is the standard. Would be interesting to see the votes, as everyone I know went Silva, must have been down to the wire.

Isn't this the 2nd season in a row he's won it now? Don't get me wrong I like the guy but this feels really biased based on performances

Honestly giving it to Thiago Silva both this year and last year would have been way more reasonable, feel like he's being underrated because he's 37

Its ridiculous isnt it, by all means think Silva or James or whoever was more deserving of the award, its an entirely subjective opinion, but why then disparage one of our other best players, on who has came up through the ranks at Chelsea and represents everything the fanbase has been crying out for. Its so weird this desperation by "fans" to talk him down at every opportunity.

I think you could make a fair point that Mount should generally do better against the very best sides. And for large parts of the season he wasn't actually all that good but he did come across in a way which was harsh.

Mount is obviously one of our better players and definitly Top 5 in terms of our best performers this seasons though. Actually our only saving grace in attacking areas as far as i'm concerned but i've actually not yet been really, really convinced he belongs where he plays right now despite him being our best attacker. With time I believe he will be deeper in midfield.
