For love of god !

the lad is 21 years old ffs,he’s moved countries during a global pandemic, he’s also had covid recently and if reports are to be believed he was very poorly,

pre covid when he has played in his natural position he has played well, unfortunately we seem to have wingers made of glass and he seems to be the one to move around

cut the bloke some slack ffs

He just need to make his decisions quicker and he’ll be fine, obviously if he was a little more enthusiastic it would be great but he’s a shy character.

I think he just needs more time to show his real potential because he's a very good player.

He still hasn't been great though and I don't think the RW position suits him in the PL mainly because of his lack of pace. I would start Kovacic instead of him in the midfield if I assume we have all our wingers for now.

When he plays, he's usually in the top 3 for running distance so I don't think he's lazy as well.

Okay, no more starts please, just play Kovacic or Gilmour there instead.

It's getting to Bakayoko levels, we are playing him for the sake of his price tag, he's not cut out for it. He has been absolutely woeful since his return from testing positive, time to stay on the bench for a while.

I was surprised he started over Kovacic.

He's nowhere near ready for the PL. Will have to hope he turns it around completely but he doesn't look right to me. Almost looks like someone who's realized how tough it is in english football and miss Germany.

Kai clearly wants to play and is clearly taking risks out there in the final third, Werner the 1 odd time he gets the ball in the mid of the pitch he just dives with it and loses it, they both try to force it too much but clearly Lampard isn't using them properly.

Mount wasn't ready in his first season either but Lampard kept playing him. What has Mount done part from assisting from corner kicks? Not that much better than Havertz overall.

It looks like frank is trying to play him into form but sometimes that isn’t the best idea. Benching him for a few games and having him come off the bench could actually do him favours rather than forcing an out of form player into form.

Bakayoko, Conte. It keeps springing to mind, and I hate it.

It’s looking like frank has a habit of forcing people back into the team after injury regardless of whether their replacements are playing well. He did the same thing last season by forcing Kante back into the team despite kovacic and Jorginho having something good going and now he’s doing the same thing despite kovacic working well with mount and Kante while havertz was out.

Against Everton everyone accused me of being over the top with my criticism of him...just a little reminder it involved a cake addicted prostitute, now everyone else thinks he's a complete load of w**k. I feel justified in my beer fuelled anger 😂

The opinion of Heinz lovers is not valid on this forum.

I think thats very harsh, before he had covid he was starting to look pretty good, I thought he was excellent at Burnley. 1st couple of games back he showed glimpses, last couple he has been horrific.

I just think he is one of these players that needs a run of games, but obviously with covid, we dont know how much that has or is effecting him physically.

Personally, i think it might be another couple of months before we start to see the best of him.

Another performance where he failed to show the basic things of a footballer.

Play him from the bench, or play him at the position he used to play in Leverkusen.

N.10 or 2nd striker.

He's killing his confidence, fans are losing their faith, the amount we paid for him just makes it worse. We're about to lose a very talented player and I really don't want another De Bruyne situation.

I'm not saying he's anywhere near as bad as Bakayoko (touch wood). I'm saying it's a similar situation, Havertz is clearly not showing abillity and has to be dropped, but Lampard has to play him due to the price tag. This was Conte/Bakayoko, Bakayoko was absolutely dreadful, playing like a sunday league player, but Conte was starting him in every game regardless due to the price tag and having such high hopes for him.

Under Roman I don't think Frank has that pressure, I think he can keep Kai in the bench if he thinks that is best.

I'm not saying it's Roman, I'm saying it's Frank. I think Frank wants him to get on with it and play him until he eventually turns good. That for me is what I got from Conte with Bakayoko.

I think he is a very talented player who is out of form at present. Partially due to adapting to a new league and also down to him recovering from Covid. I think he should be starting from the bench at present. We have seen some glimpses of his talent however I think he will be the type of player that always divides opinion among the fans. He has a very laid back style which means some fans are going to think he is continually off the pace. Similar frustrations were regularly voiced about RLC. He has a lot in common with Ozil, although his attitude seems much better and he also has age on his side. I think we won't see the best of him this season though.

If he doesn't make it, it will be nothing like KDB. KDB didn't even get this many run of games or minutes at Chelsea for starters and his performance against Hull was better than anything Kai has shown in a league game so far. For such a hyped footballer I'm shocked at how average he looks just doing the basic things. I'm seeing no glimpses that I saw from Hazard (dribbling) or KDB (Quickly timed shots and driven passes) when they first came to Chelsea. At best he just looks like he'll have the same impact as Oscar. Not good enough.

Poor lad is really struggling.  Isn't really offering anything, and messing up the basics.  Looks slow and makes many mistakes.  There is a class player in there - just looks way out of place at the moment.

To be fair, we weren't any better when Kova came on, and Mount was hardly lighting things up.  Collectively as a team we are suffering, and that really makes Kai stand out all the more.  I'm not suggesting a well playing team should carry and underperforming player, but it is not helping his integration.

I know it was a huge price tag but he HAS to sit.  Be a substitute for a few games and work yourself back into the 11 through good play!   If hes gonna be great someday like I think he will be this shouldn't kill his confidence.  Ups and downs are normal for a young player moving to a big club.

Also I think Covid has screwed him up terribly. He was never a fast player per say but he just looks lethargic.  There were many NBA players who came after having Covid and were a shell of themselves last season in the bubble.
