Armando Broja

No one is saying he'll be the golden bullet. If he works hard, controls a ball properly and actually wants to be here that's already an improvement on the current striker.

If he can be an improvement on Lukaku the way Eto'o was on Torres then that's a start.

And one we don't have to pay 50mill or more for only to find we got another lung of led and that Liverpool took the gold already.

Broja is looking a quality act at old trafford. Pace, strength, pressing. They are struggling to cope with him, imagine him playing for a team that control most of the ball and doesnt have to feed off scraps.

Tbf Southampton are always good to watch, ward prowse just controls that midfield excellently as well.

You're saying he doesn't need world class service from every player behind him to do the basics of football? I call bullsh*t.

Brilliant again. The only thing lacking was a goal. Should have scored that chance when he skipped past Maguire. Varane is one of the fastest CB in football and he went past him like he wasn't there. MOTM for me. Top game.

If this is true, it could explain why the players are having such difficulties in attack. I remember hearing Lampard had a similar approach to attacking giving them complete freedom and the attacking players (Werner, Havertz etc) were not used to this and this was cited as one of the main reasons our attack fell apart under Lamps.

The only attackers that really work in a free role are Havertz and Ziyech. You could argue perhaps Mount as well but the majority need detailed instructions to get the best out of them. Even Havertz I believe would benefit from attacking instructions

Any attacker prefer freedom. That is not really our problem.

Honestly, i rather borja to go on loan again.  i don't know what happen if he come to us. It feel like any attacker that come to us suddenly turn into turd.

I think it’s pretty clear we are determined to keep Lukaku, by the looks of Broja he would appear to be a nice partner up top. Pace, pressing, clinical - brings everything Werner does but can actually score a goal.

Well if we cannot or will not shift Rom then I would sooner he gets another season on loan than not play for us, as for him and Connor these loans are really helping them develop.

I honestly think he’s gone if TT stays, he brings 10% to our play, and that being generous, at least Torres has medals galore and the memory he touched World class, at best Lukaku is Heskey lite at best!

Broja is always a real handful and looks fantastic for Southampton.

But he really thrives when there is space to run into and he's getting that at Southampton. More often than not he would not get that here. So while we control games it would be an entirely different scenario for Broja here. He may still make it as I think he looks class but he won't be able to do the same here as for Southampton.

TT keeps picking him and how easy is it to move someone on that cost 97.5mill and has 325k a week wages?

PSG will buy him, hopefully or take a hit on him and send him back to the land of Vesuvius, leaning towers, and mighty motors..

Just dont feel we will get that option. We are going to get 30m+ bids this summer. He's either going or he's staying with us.

Due to his new deal he doesn't have the type of power Livramento and Lamptey did (and he surely must have known a new striker was likely coming when he penned it).

Furthermore unlike when the former left there's now Trevoh's case as a blueprint, his promotion has shown there's a clear pathway to the first team with Tuchel here so if a young player is told by TT one more loan before proper integration they'd be absolutely zero reason to doubt his word.

The one's that are good enough don't.

Drogba didn't, Anelka didn't, Giroud didn't, Tammy didn't, Costa didn't, Crespo didn't, Eto'o didn't, Sturridge (before being unfairly shafted for a sh*t record signing) didn't. Ba, Remy and I'd even say Higuain served a purpose aswell.

It's a recruitment problem not a curse problem. Problems have ranged from the player not fitting the system (Lukaku), not having the mental strength to be the main man (Morata), unsuited to the league (Falcao, Pizarro, Kezman), being passed it to the point they were fundamentally sh*t footballers by the time we got them (Sheva, Torres, Pato) or being sh*t full stop (Michy).

I would wager Broja would be a lot closer to the former category than the latter.

Broja and Colwill are bankers to be top players wherever they go as long as the avoid the sort of injuries that RLC and the like have suffered.

Who the hell cares about pizzaro, sheva ,falcao.

It is all about havertz, werner, lukaku, puli, tammy, cho, ziyech. If it is just one or two then it is the player but when it is pretty much everyone then it is whole another story especially after how tammy and puli played under Lamp.

I watched Borja against united. He looks like a menace, a complete forward. Soton played up and down football where Borja could show his complete array of skill.

But once he come to chelsea it is very different. Against Palmeiras we played with one st in the middle with everyone very wide. It will force Borja to play almost exclusively as a target man then you will barely see Borja using his running, his pace, it will be all back to goal game.

I think he signed a new contract last summer so it is fine

Very simple decision. Keep Broja and sell Lukaku.  Harry Kane needs to show some ambition for once and leave Spurs, so Conte can use the money to replace him with Lukaku.

I just have a hard time finding a club willing to spend big for Harry Kane. I guess United, but I said he should show ambition and they are just another Europa League mid-table team like Spurs. 🤣

I am not actually sure it’s as simple as that. At Southampton he is playing alongside Adam Armstrong. In Italy Lukakau played in a two.

Now I am not suggesting that Lukaku and Broja would work in tandem but it may well provide a very very attractive alternative to at least try out in pre season

It’s odd isn’t it that so many in the press feel it’s inevitable that he will be gone.

He is one year into a 5 year deal so it was pretty obvious that the club had a development path if for no other region he has stepped up in standard from last season.

So everyone said Borja is brilliant. Just watch this he get the ball run at people. Brilliant

Then you watch this

🤔🤔 I see a lot of same action but you barely see Lukaku does that with us. So either we sign Lukaku long lost twin or the way we use our st is different to soton or inter.

That is why I rather Borja go on loan again, it is hard to see Borja come to us and do what he is doing with soton. The way we use our st is very different.

Watching that video, he seems at the very least like a decent fit for Werner's squad place ... with upgraded skill, technique, dribbling and finishing ability.

In addition, he looks like he's "got a bit of mongrel" in him, as the Aussies might say .... :-)
