Armando Broja

Not necessarily especially when clubs like Napoli are offering to buy him. Salah also had a good 1st half of the season & was average in the 2nd for what it’s worth.

Yea the time for loans are over now, we need to make a call on him.

The more i look at the strikers available in the market the more i feel like we won't sign better than Broja. His goal return really doesn't showcase how much trouble he caused defences last year. Fast, good feet, low driven shot, good link up. I really want to see him given a chance in pre season.

Watch Borja highlights in YouTube and watch Lukaku highlights with inter. If you see a lot of similarities then you have to be concern

Not really, different leagues, different teams, different level of physicality.

It got nothing to do with physicality or league. Just watch these two videos. When you watch Borja highlight and you see a powerful runner You watch lukaku highlight with inter and it is the same thing.

Now you watch lukaku highlight with us and it is like watching bald Giroud.

I think you will find that from highlights only most strikers look the same, as only best bits or goals are shown.

However, during the game you will find that Lukaku and Broja are totally different. Starting from attitude, Lukaku throws his hands every time a ball is not passed to him or doesn't reach him instead of trying to win it back for the team like Broja does.

Broja is constantly working hard for the ball and has, the skill, pace and first touch to control the ball to beat an opponent where as Lukakus first touch is the worse in our team apart from Werner perhaps.

Broja can play in all front 3 positions, posession play football or counter attacking based play where as Lukaku can't.

Most importantly Broja is hungry to succeed and  Lukaku is not.

Small details but make a huge difference.

Karim Benzema in his younger days with Lyon was well known for his powerful running and dribbling and it continued in Madrid. Thats a strength not a hindrance. How many times have you seen Lukaku doing any running for us or dribbling for that matter, none! Thats perhaps a confidence issue i don't know but what i am saying lets not discard a youngster without giving them a proper chance through YouTube highlights just because they look like another player. I really hope we give Broja a chance.

First of all how dare you compare The Lump to Giroud in anyway, how insulting towards the man who score some beautiful goals and won some lovely trophies with us.

Secondly how dare you even mention Giroud and baldness in the same sentence (even though I’m sure he’d manage to even pull off that look).

Personally I think you should count yourself lucky I haven’t reported that post, instant ban if you ask me (which nobody ever does for some reason)!

I really hate those youtube compilations that people make of footballers. can not ascertain the true ability of the player as they pick and choose what to show you to prove their point.

And they always pad the video out by showing every clip twice ... and that just makes me think there aren't enough highlights to make a decent video LOL.

Spurs end of season videos probably provide a great learning curve for the YouTubers.

There is giving youth a chance, there is putting him in position to fail.

The fact that a player who is known to favor attacking defender on the run suddenly turn into Giroud for us should concern you. Lukaku is not the only only who has failed with us, Tammy was brilliant under Lamp and he has struggled big time under Tuchel.

Honestly highlights are fine if you understand what you see. They amplify what a player good at and hide what a player bad at.

Broja can control a ball and dribble with tripping over to start with.

With Werner, Lukaku and how Havertz was last season the bar has been set really low for Armando.

Watching the CL final and seeing how brilliantly RM took care of the ball whilst always being in motion. Every first touch good, all touches and positioning active. Flicks, nutmeg and one and two touches only always meaning the scouse were a step off of them. Carvajal, Modric, Valverde, Casemiro. All excellent.  Then look at us. 3 touches, tempo killers, reversing play because lack of movement and penetration.

Regardless of status, profile and cost, we must surely employ a recruitment and development strategy that aligns itself with a similar profile.

Does Lukaku possess any of these qualities because if we want to achieve our objectives we will ultimately have to beat teams like RM who do have these qualities every single important game.

If Broja can meet the profile then he must surely stay and if that is at the expense of a "marquee" forward, well then so be it.

Yeah, but we’ve beaten them 3-1.

Benzemas first touch and one touch lay offs was just sublime, Messi plays the same, trust your Technique, and the players you lay off to, like you say we don’t do that, Maybe Havz does, but usually a multi touch, just slows the play collectively

Based solely on the level reached last season don’t think Broja  has enough of what it takes to succeed at Chelsea. Bit wild in front of goal. Might be wrong.

Benzema took about 10 years to develop into the player he is today.

He was nowhere near this level when Ronaldo was leading the line for them.

If it's going to take Broja a similar amount of time to get there I'm sadly unconvinced we have that level of patience.  We tend to just buy the finished article at the centre forward position and if it doesn't work we just buy someone else we think is the finished article.

Not always. Havertz is certainly not a finished article, neither is Werner. Give Broja the amount of chances those two underperformers get based on their price tags and I think we will be impressed with what he offers.
