Again though while Werners transfer fee is not a big deal, as I can see us taking 30mill for him whereas no way we will with Rom, he is on 272k a week. Who in their right mind takes that over? I think we're stuck with rom for another year as then he's loaned to italy

March 4, 20224 yr He is the perfect example of what I mean when I said we should have been patient and got the right player instead of desperately throwing £100m away to get Lukaku. There are always new players breaking through, and Broja is doing that at Southampton. He has everything in his locker to become a top player and if we let him go, I will be furious.
April 26, 20224 yr Author I've seen a lot of Broja's finishing and it looks very good yet I don't see him leading the line like Havertz, looks to me like he is a No.10 or in a front two. Does anyone see this differently?

Does anyone see this differently? He works very hard and has good movement and pace. He can lead the line for sure. With Saints he plays in a 2 man front so usually peels off Adam's. Wonder if he could bring JWP with him, what do you think @Valerie

Oh and he is capable of scoring a goal here and there, but the - and the hair matter most, obviously. Good call @axman2526!

Unless there are any objections we must bring this to the new owners attention! @Munkworth would you be willing to perform a presentation for him?
April 27, 20224 yr Just promote Soonsup-Bell to the first team - we don’t have to taint it with players from sh*t clubs that way.

Certainly adds that grit into the front line, both Broja and Kai seem to love getting into the defenders faces.
April 27, 20224 yr Broja has shown more for Southampton than Lumpkaku has for us, unless you count energetic finger pointing…

I thought we were playing Havertz up top with Werner and Mount either side and then in the 2nd half when it is not working Werner and Havertz go to a two with Mount behind them.

He's a young striker who like other youngsters burst onto the scene. Opposing defenders and coaches are now prepared as to what to expect from him. He will come good again but like all players starting out will have dips in form too. I do think we need to temper our expectations of him, it could be he requires a further year on loan to see him fulfill his potential.
May 30, 20224 yr The more i look at the strikers available in the market the more i feel like we won't sign better than Broja. His goal return really doesn't showcase how much trouble he caused defences last year. Fast, good feet, low driven shot, good link up. I really want to see him given a chance in pre season.
May 30, 20224 yr Seems like he was good 1st half of the season, but tailed off 2nd half. Maybe needs another loan spell.
May 30, 20224 yr Saw articles saying he never settled at Southampton and wasn't happy there. Can't imagine he has that issue at Chelsea having been there for 10 years.

Not necessarily especially when clubs like Napoli are offering to buy him. Salah also had a good 1st half of the season & was average in the 2nd for what it’s worth.
