Chelsea v Man City (CL Final) 29/05/21 KO 20:00 BST

As long as we go into this match with a fully fit squad, we have a decent chance. We are in a good flow. 6 days break is long enough and the occasioon should overrule fatigue. We've played a handful of games against weaker opposition this and last season where we had much longer rest and still lost and drew leaving me scratching my head. We can do em! I just don't want to lose to silly errors or a bent ref.

Ladies and gentleman, one week and a couple of hours to go till our biggest game since May 19th, 2012.

Will this thread forever be pinned and fondly remembered, videos reposted again and again, and smiles brought to faces as the Bayern thread still is this to this day?

Or will it be unpinned and disappear forever, and tried to be forgotten as the united one from 2008?

Will be working so wont be able to see it live, will record it.

Question is should I check the last page of this thread before watching so as to know what to expect in case things did not go our way?

Or do I gamble the amazing feeling that could be mine if we win and I do not know before watching vs the devastation of watching us lose when I could have tempered it a bit before hand with foreknowledge?

Take a sickie. There are times in ones life that you just need to be there as it happens.

One is the birth of your child, and second is your team in the champions league final!

Nah businesses out here are still suffering the covid effect so we are short handed. Managed to get cover for the day of my wifes brothers wedding last year but that was it. Used to have a pool of 6 workers to cover the day to day stuff. Now we have 3 including me.

Yeah I am the supervisor of the store so if I do that I kinda screw myself lol.

Would be different were I still in England, but where I am in Canada nobody gives a sh*t about football. So I can easily avoid the result if I want to and watch the recording as if it were live. Sorta be poetic watching it at 8 at night over here when most of you have to wait 8 uk time as well.

I will just be wrestling between the logical mind and irrational heart. Former will want me to check the result, and by check the result I mean read the last section of this thread to see if @Malta Blue and @Munkworth are screaming YEEEESSSSSS! or blaming the poor choice of socks for our defeat. If it is a defeat the theory is knowing without seeing first will be less painful.

However the heart says wait and see, and remember how great Munich felt.

Honestly though even uf City smash us 5-0 or we manage a composed 2-0 win I dont think the former will feel anywhere near as gutting as Moscow 2008 nor the latter as magnificent as Munich 2012.

On the contrary, we educate him about priorities!

Funny thing though when I shared I was working during the fa cup final where was this reaction guys and gals? Lol

We look exhausted. I really can’t see us winning. Just hope the boys don’t feel any pressure and can play to enjoy it which might help a little.

Anything can happen in a final. But city are clear favorites. I worry about our fragile mentality to win finals at the moment. City will dominate and we will have to be strong at the back and look for the counter attack.

After the last four or five performances I am convinced we’re getting an absolute hiding next week. The biggest margin so far in an EC final has been four goals on four occasions. I suspect City might set a new record. The only way I see us winning it is by way of some unjust fluke. We simply haven’t got the players with either the ability or fortitude beat them on this stage.

Kante must play, if he's unfit then keep him as a DM and limit how much he has to run forward. Hopefully Mendy is fine as well, without these 2 I think we will have to play 11 men behind the ball again.

We could get stuffed against City yet then again we have beaten them twice this season, so perhaps TT knows how to play Pep's teams.

Keep the faith at least until the end of the first half. ::HeAdS:::

Whatever happens next Saturday I’m going to Disneyland on Sunday at 35% capacity only, no mental waits

Also if you’re feeling negative about the final, not many thought we had a 🙏🏻 vs Bayern, but we did have players back then who knew where the back of the net was!
