Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again!

Featured Replies

Taken out of context or not I'm disappointed Romelu fell for the trap, especially considering it appears to be a trap he set for himself.

The top 3 clubs thing has be around for decades and decades we all know Barca, Real and Bayern are the big dogs. However, he didn't need to phrase it the way he did to make us look we're the consolation prize. Some things are just better left unsaid.

As far as I'm concerned a line can be drawn a we move on from here but I like many other fans especially the ones that were happy he returned are hurt. I've always maintained that when KDB and Salah left I wasn't fussed it was Rom that I was disappointed about.

I don't like how he has gone about how he feels, but I was pretty frustrated when he returned from injury that TT either didn't use him or brought him on as a sub with 10 - 15 minutes to go. He then wasn't able to play after then catching covid.

If he's available we should be starting him up top, we signed him to score goals. Get him, Werner and Havertz playing closer to each other, we should be able to get far more goals.

Agree with this. After all he has always been a Billy big boll*KS so let him show he is worth all the hype.

Game ain't played on paper, but heck a front 4 of Lukaku, Havertz, Werner and Mount should be awesome. SHOULD being the important word there.

He should issue a public apology and explain himself before the Liverpool match.

If that doesn't happen and he starts on Sunday, it sends a very wrong message, imho.

The damage has been done, an apology will not undo that, only lots of goals in this tough period ahead will brush this mess under the carpet.

I agree. I don't think he should say anything. I have no doubt he has discussed everything with Tuchel and that should stay behind closed doors. He needs to knuckle down and do his talking on the pitch where he is paid to operate. I am sure he will get a mixed reception from the fans but if he can score some important goals in the games ahead this will quickly be forgotten.

Of course, the damage's done and he;ll never live that down. From now on, whenever Lukaku plays badly or does/says something wrong, this sh*t will be brought back up to remind everyone what a disrespectful dummy with an oversized ego he is.

My point is, we can't allow that to pass without consequeces. Whether he meant it or not, he publicly disrespected his club, manager, teammates and fans. If nothing happens and we just get on with it, it sets a very dangerous precedent. Arteta /Aubameyang is the most recent example, as much I'd hate to admit it, but Arsenal manager got it right, no one is bigger than a club.

Shouldn't be anywhere near the first team squad for the feasible future, nobody is bigger than the club, certainly players with such a small medal collection, much much better players have been and gone, the club keeps moving foward. Win lose or draw ktbffh.

Yes i do agree but i just think he should keep his gob shut now because even an apology could make it worse, plus i would just cringe anyway, the only way to win me over is goals goals goals, and loads more goals.

😐

Ugh, for someone who says he looks up to Didier i really wonder what goes thru his mind sometimes. His agent should know better also.

I don't really understand why he did that interview as well, Inter fans moved on, they are 1st in Seria A and have Dzeko and Correa to replace him.

He could of writed something on Instragram or whatever platform he wanted he could have controlled the narrative, but going to Italy and doing an interview in Italian for a big paper you just know some quotes gonna take out of context.

What bottered me the most is the fact that Chelsea paid 100 million for him just a few months ago and he's already thinking about his next move.

I wouldnt mind him staying but he gotta score a lot of goals from now on and shut his mouth when he's outside the club.

I was really happy that we got him this summer, thought he changed, was a better player and more mature but i was wrong.

Well, I didn't mean him literally speaking, we've had enough of his stream of consciousness as it is. I meant a written statement saying sorry/was misunderstood/misconstrued/struck by wood and so on so we could save face and at least attempt to move on from it. Otherwise it would look like he spat in our faces and we just pretended it was rain.

As for goals, that goes without saying, the only reason he's here, but for God's sake, keep him away from the microphones.

Diego is a great comparison because he had plenty to say that disrespected Conte and the club. He was forgiven through performances. I doubt Lukaku has the stomach to do the same.

I thought he got bounced straight out of the club after this incident with Conte ?

Am I remembering things wrong ?

no you're right, he was absent and training in Brazil on his own i believe at the time of this interview, he wanted to go to China previous season in January, after that he did come through though but after we won the title conte didn't want to work with him anymore

Maybe I am wrong but I thought he did stay away for a bit before coming back and helping us to win the title, was forgiven by many fans, and then he got the infamous text from Conte in the summer.

you can see conte is wearing nike, we had the adidas sponsor when we won the title, this is the second season, after the text

there was a problem in the 1st season in January, after that they reconciled

Exactly, lets not kid ourselves most footballers love the badge that pays them, and why should it be any different? Why did I grow up a Chelsea fan…I often used to question this in the dark days. It’s in our blood now, players are different they come do a job, some may profess undying love but really why would a kid from far off regions really love us? We’re his dream, the wage packet. Whilst they are here we expect 100% on and off the pitch given their astronomical salary. Rom now has to produce on the pitch,no ifs buts or maybes if not we rightly can call him. After that if he wants to f8ck off back to Italy so be it, he may not now though find the grass greener.

Even more so for those who first joined when Roman bought the club. Some became legends, some are best forgotten, but aside from Joe Cole did any of them dream of playing for Chelsea or did they come for the big pay packet and the chance we were building a winning team? The latter right, so they were mercenaries that went to the highest bidder. That is not a knock on them for it, just the truth.

You mean this Didier?

Or do you mean Deschamps?

Already posted and redundant, Drogba had built up 6 years of equity with the fans at that point, won titles and no bullsh*t PR about being a fan etc from the beginning. Now, as for Lukaku, we are literally in the f**king honeymoon period, he’s been here 5 seconds.. our 2nd highest paid player. He’s harped on very recently about being back home and harping on about being a fan etc, kissing the badge. The second sh*ts gets tough, his ego can’t handle it.. just like his best mate Pogba minus Raiola.
