Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea - and gone again!

Diego is a great comparison because he had plenty to say that disrespected Conte and the club. He was forgiven through performances. I doubt Lukaku has the stomach to do the same.

I never forgave him. I knew he was gone once he tried to force a move to China in the middle of the season. His form dipped considerably too. He could easily have ruined our run to the title, but thankfully, the other players maintained their levels and got us over the line.

but aside from Joe Cole did any of them dream of playing for Chelsea or did they come for the big pay packet and the chance we were building a winning team?

Those that didn't dream of it, lived the dream later on. Source: ex Arsenal playas

I think it's a real shame so many have bought into that twitter dickheads sensationalist posts.

It's even bigger shame how many are willing to tolerate disrespect of their club, manager and themselves as fans, if it's from someone who they think can help their team in the pitch. All the rival supporters are openly mocking us and if that's our response to that kind of behaviour, then we fully deserve that as a club.

Already posted and redundant, Drogba had built up 6 years of equity with the fans at that point, won titles and no bullsh*t PR about being a fan etc from the beginning. Now, as for Lukaku, we are literally in the f**king honeymoon period, he’s been here 5 seconds.. our 2nd highest paid player. He’s harped on very recently about being back home and harping on about being a fan etc, kissing the badge. The second sh*ts gets tough, his ego can’t handle it.. just like his best mate Pogba minus Raiola.

So him doing the same thing at the end of his first season was different as well? When we all though he was just a diver who couldn’t score and had the touch of a donkey?

I think Drogba complained in his 1st season also.

Anyone think Lukaku holds a bit of bitterness for us not bringing him back to the club way sooner? We constantly loaned him, didn't show him much interest until this past season, and even before last summer we were preferring Haaland over him.

Well, this isn’t Lukaku’s first time at the rodeo. Negative comments from Drogba were unlikely to derail the momentum of Jose arriving with the influx of new signings all trying to bed in and adjust to life in west london, too much noise from elsewhere at the time. 10 seconds into Lukaku’s star studded return and he’s gone off to bitch and moan about being here and the manager, derailing the entire football club and running us through the mud in the media. Quite different in my book and no excuses.

Drogba never disrespected Jose, Lukaku has disrespected Tuchel. Why are we still comparing this to Drogba’s comments? 😅 contexts are so different…

You statement make 0 sense. Drogba said he wanted to go back to Marseille, Lukaku said he wanted to go back to inter. Drogba said he wasn't happy in chelsea and he felt disgusted.

How in the heck the context is so different 😅😅

Drogba led the line (well shared it with Gudjohnsen) to a 95 point title win, scored in a cup final and gave a genuine 10/10 performance against Bayern Munich.

Lukaku does even one of those and threads involving him would resemble a bunch of 13 year olds on the way to a one direction concert.

Yep and it took him producing Messi/Ronaldo numbers in a double season to win everyone back round.

He did his talking on the pitch, if Rom wants a similar come back story he has to do the same, starting tomorow.

Wow you’re on quite the campaign here 😅 Lukaku should hire you. And now you’ve fast-forwarded back to 2009, even though I was responding to your ‘first season’ 2004 comment.

Drogba did his talking on the pitch ‘before’ & ‘after’ in 2009, Lukaku has done nothing before and it is to be seen what happens now. The only similarity is wanting to go back but not the context in which the two players are speaking from, additionally, Lukaku has gone one step further by disrespecting Tuchel himself. Not to mention the timing of all this.

If he plays he will produce against Chesterfield. However VVD, Diaz and especially Conte will make sure he has no Influence against the other teams we play this month.

I understand where both you and @dkw are coming from here. I will back TT. If he decides he wants to play Rom fine by me, if he wants to drop him to the reserves fine by me to.

I will back our manager, even though I wish he would come up with a good plan B too.

This whole situation just sucks. Stupid interview to give. And it comes out right when he was getting healthy and in scoring form.

I hope Tuchel keeps him out of the starting lineup tomorrow but limit the punishment to that. I think we need him. We lose the last two games without him.

I expect we will lose to Pool and City regardless of if Rom plays or not.

Our confidence is on the floor. Key players like Jorgi and Kante are knackered or not fully fit. We cannot keep clean sheets anymore and we struggle to score goals unless given pens.

At full flow we are a match for City, Pool and any side in the world. Where we are now with injuries, sickness and lack of belief we stand little chance.

Whatever he said is completely irrelevant to me, I'm not even interested enough to read further than the headlines. Football fans tend to be such ridiculously oversensitive cry-babies. If he trains well, gives 100% effort on match day, and hopefully scores goals, then he's doing all that I require from a Chelsea player.

Even a Belgian one
