Once again proving he is more equipped to perform consistently in our midfield than probably any of current options bar Kante. Some will say sending him out on loan was a mistake but I'd disagree. I think it's worked superbly.

Agreed, this is how to bring a young player on.  His spell under big Sam will have taught him a lot about work ethic,defensive responsibility etc . From there he’s taken it on another level at Palace. Hopefully the progression can continue next season for us.

Palace are a lot better than Brentford. That semi final is not a foregone conclusion

Have to say I like the way Arteta responded to questions after Arsenal lost. No excuses, simply not good enough. Normally I am all for how TT deals with the press but he should have replied the same way after our pathetic  display against Brentford, not look for every excuse under the sun.

I believe pool are gaining an advantage by having an easy game today where City face a dogged Atletico. 

I expect City to get through but they will have to work hard for it, and that may cost them the title this weekend.

Benfica 0-5 Liverpool

City 2-1 Atletico.

Was hoping I would never be reminded of the match in which we somehow managed to drop two points at home to a team of 17-year-olds who couldn't even name a full bench.

Without a doubt pool are already 0-1 up. With thar draw they are in the final already. They are too good for Benfica, Bayern or Villareal.
