October 19, 20214 yr So Atletico lose Griezmann to a red for an accidental boot to the face. I'm old enough to remember Diaby booting JT in the face in the league cup final, knocking him out cold and putting him in hospital. No red. No pen. Nothing. Edited October 19, 20214 yr by Backbiter
October 19, 20214 yr Liverpool always get help from referees be it EPL, FA cup or Europe. When was last time their player was sent off? Milner had to kill someone in Citeh match but still would not get a second yellow..
October 19, 20214 yr Unbelievable, no way was that a clear and obvious error. VAR really want Liverpool to win.

Well, to be fair, VAR did not overrule the ref's penalty decision, but rather asked him to review the screen to see if his initial decision was correct. I can see why he felt it was a bit of a dive, as their legs really did not entangle, but there was a bit of a push, so in my mind it was 50-50.

The problem with VAR is we are now getting an official miles away refereeing. When he told the German ref to go to the screen it’s telling him in his view as a fellow professional he has made a mistake. It’s very hard then for the on pitch ref to overrule VAR, even though it has overstepped it’s interpretation.

I see what you're saying but I think it would of been a 50/50 decision at the beginning, but once it's been given as a penalty it's meant to be a clear and obvious mistake for it to be overturned. Clear and obvious is their own official rules remember. In my opinion it wasn't a clear an obvious mistake otherwise people would be saying that it 100% wasn't a penalty. October 19, 20214 yr I don't know what thought is more sickening, the media love in for Liverpool and them going for number 7 or what City would be like if they won it.
October 20, 20214 yr being loved by the media isn't really a flattering thing as they are mostly idiots
October 20, 20214 yr Not a big surprise but Bruce has left Newcastle United. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58775879

October 20, 20214 yr So who will Newcastle replace him with ? If it was up to me, I'd get the best manager available, which is Conte. Hopefully it will all be sorted quickly, and without too many photos and videos of Amanda Staveley ... :-) Edited October 20, 20214 yr by Sexyfootball
October 20, 20214 yr A horrible nothing football club with entitled fans and a penchant for playing terrible football. I want them relegated, the championship suits them well I think. Conte or Howe will end up there in all likelihood.

Just imagine that pressure he was constantly exposed to. Even in those circumstances he managed to stay calm and bring the best out of their squad.
