There's middle ground to be at.

Would it be ideal to get experience in the side? Yes, but we were experienced in 22/23 and finished 12th, United had two of the most decorated players in football history last season and finished 8th (all be it won a cup).

Experience only works if they're performing, if we bring in an older has been/never was CB and Jackson is making him look silly in training then either subconsciously or otherwise they're simply not going to look up to him or listen to a single word he says.

22-23? wasn't that the year the new owners decided to go gun-ho, sack a manager after 6 weeks, hire a newbie and fired him after less than 6 months ( who hasn't got a job since then), then replaced with a legend who possibly dammned his future career after a little cameo? It's a lot to do with the madness of the organization  rather than just the experience of the players

Conor i would keep at Chelsea as a squad player.  Such an asset. Enthusiasm and loyalty. But if he had to go I would hate to see him go to any other English club.

Atletico Madrid have made a move for Chelsea's England midfielder Conor Gallagher.

I think Southgates plan to start with TAA in the base of midfield plays into Conors hands. He wasn't very good and Conor can handle that spot a lot better. TAA's attacking prowess (mainly a deadly right foot) is his main trait but for some weird reason Southgate decided England can't attack anymore and keep hold of the result. If they continue in the same vein Conor starts at some point and he won't look back.

Reece James could play that role. Reece is far more adaptable. Not sure why he wasnt included in the squad, I mean if Southgate included Luke Shaw. But here we are.

imho
the midfield that would work best is with Declan Rice solo and then 4 in front of him
Saka -----Palmer----Bellingham----Foden
that is how you win - tournament football is different to league football or champions league football
Mainoo comes on to add some more defensive qualities when needed
and Gallagher comes on at some point when players will inevitably get tired.  Or you start with Gallagher and then you go Palmer?

Agreed, but I'd put Foden central and Palmer on the right.

WOKEGATE won't drop his golden boy (SAKA) no matter how good Palmer was last season

I'm no fan of Saka, but to be fair he had a good first half the other night and then Bowen proved to be the right sub at that stage of the game.

Palmer's time will come.

I don't think Rice and Conor are really complimentary partnership unless England are looking to hold onto a lead at all costs. As Arteta quickly worked out Rice needs a partner who excels in the one thing he's really weak at (build up play) which is where Wharton should come in.

It's a shame really but that's how it is at International football when you have a stacked squad.

I agree about Saka first half he was good.

Need to put Foden on the bench and bring on Gordon or Eze as attacking players on left.

Gallagher playing longer should help Bellingham and Kane take advantage of Saka's crosses.

I also think Watkins should come on as Kane is too slow say after 70 mins though not technically as good as Kane though much more mobile.

I notice last time Palmer played he cut inside and gave Kane an assist yet Kane took it on the wrong foot, one footed perhaps...........

It appears Daniel Levy has a stake in Atletico Madrid, only explanation for this piss take of a bid.

Looks like news travels slow in Spain. 😂

The club don't need to sell to comply with PSR.

But it actually might demonstrate how much money these clubs have and are willing to spend. Yet we're going to hoover up all of the South American talent, farm them out to the French league for a year or two and then sell them for 80m, 100m, etc. To what market exactly?

Why does this kid feel he has to continually prove his worth

Team caption for 30 games last season apparently. The lack of respect form these fking moronic sporting directors is palpable. Its this level of disrespect that has contributed to the finest female football manage in the game in now plying her trade in the US instead of with us.

Nothing to do with the players, there are so many people at this club that i despise now behind the scenes. "We want to make all Chelsea fans proud" W**kers

No team has money except PL.

Dortmund went to final with Maatsen as their starting lb and they can't afford Maatsen 😂😂😂

Yep. So someone tell me who going to pay tens of millions for the dozen kids we end up picking up, never to play for us, when the PL teams can go to the same farmers leagues and pick the same kids up before we do.

Also half of these kids don't play for anyone, let alone us. How are they going to double or treble in value. Its more sh*t from this Winstanley Stewart b*llsh*t duo.

😁😁😁 I am also curious what is going happen but many people believe estevao and paez to be hazard level talent, if that is the case we should be fine.

This slow turgid football England plays is not for Conor. I feel he won't see a minute again unless he comes on in 90th minute to just waste time.

He didn't do well and this style is not for him. Not sure it is for anyone..

From what i've seen Leicester fans say it was similar for them last season, not sure how Gallagher will adapt to Maresca's style

It all depend on what Southgate want from his midfielder. If you want somebody to press and run to create space for Saka then Conor is the guy.

If you want somebody who sit and make sideway pass then Conor is not your guy.

If only Southgate knew what he wanted. Conor's pressing is meaningless, in fact probably a liability, leaving spaces, if no one else is pressing. One of the fundamental problems with the team.

Southgate's so far past his sell by date he should have a yellow sticker on his f**king forehead

I found something looking like him in the back of my fridge. Curdled.

Somewhat surprising there has not been more interest in Conor.  I'd be happy with him staying for another year for continuity purposes, and he somewhat earned that. But do not want to see him leave on a free like Rudi or Andreas.

Good player, but not in our best 11.
