If so and regarding his history in the transfer market I‘m not sure backing him is a wise idea 😉 The last part is your opinion, right? Because I doubt that at this point a good pre-season of Werner is nor should change anything regarding his evaluation. I wouldn't say Lukaku was TTs idea, if reports are to be believed we pursued Haaland, Lewandowski and even had Kane on the wish list before Lukaku. He was 3rd or 4th choice depending on who you believe. If we're being technical TT didn't choose him but he certainly didn't reject him, he gave the thumbs up for CFC to aquire him. Aside from Lukaku, TTs history in the transfer window looking at PSG and Dortmund is actually a very good record. The last bit is my opinion, if Broja is a revelation it makes life so much easier. More focus on rebuilding the defense and signing a DM.
June 5, 20224 yr Agreed about Broja. I followed Tuchel intensively since he joined BVB and watched basically every game of his (say 80-90%) and am a great admirer of his work. But I woudn't be so sure about his track record regarding transfers. Of course this is something nobody from the outside can fully get a picture about. It's the one field I'm not convinced that he's brilliant at if one may say so. But Dembélé...well they know each other and if this could get going it'd be a joy to watch.
June 5, 20224 yr Dembele looks an attacking forward to me rather than a striker. Excellent pace with some trickery on the ball, shots on and off and assists. Reminds me a bit of early Willian when he goes past a man hopefully his end product is better. Certainly not the worst if say Pulisic is moving on.

Dembele is a far better player than Pulisic could ever dream of being. Dembele even had Pulisic benched and shining his shoes at Dortmund. Being able to scam a club for an inflated fee due to his commerical value and being able to bring Dembele in on a free would be some incredible business for us. Exciting times.
June 5, 20224 yr Having the option of Dembele, CHO, Pulisic and Ziyech in the squad means we could play 4 atb with 2 out and out wingers and proper rotation options for them. Having 5 subs will make the epl so much more exciting imo. Squad depth will play a much larger role and will put even more emphasis on the coach and their in match decisions through the impact of their substitutions.
June 5, 20224 yr I still haven't seen anything to suggest Tuchel will opt for a back 4 vs a back 5. For me that is the biggest issue.

He didn't have a problem switching up formations at his previous clubs but seems adamant on sticking with a back 3 at Chelsea. Even with James and Chilwell both out we only switched it up a handful of times.

June 5, 20224 yr Soooooo, we wanna splash big cash again for a striker whose scored one goal last season in La Liga and whose highest goals in a season the last 5 years is 8? Lukaku did better than that this year for Chr##t's sake. Seriously?

Nonetheless players brought in under Tuchel's managerial reign tend to be a success. June 5, 20224 yr £120M odd player for free but steep wages? Worth a punt although a couple questions remain about his commitment and injuries

Second, making an all encompassing assumption about people because of their nationality....there's a word for that, stereotyping. Not a good look. Third, the video game issue was back in 2018, 4 years ago when he was 21. What 21 year old hasn't made bad decisions? Back to my previous point, why would Barcelona still try and re-sign him instead of shedding his salary, his immaturity, his lack of professionalism, his poor finishing, etc.? Creative accounting for one. Barca’s books are so bad they can’t even register Christensen without selling some players. If they get Dembele to resign, they could put a residual value of £70m on him helping prop up their books.

June 6, 20224 yr Latest updates according to some reports have PSG dropping out of the race. Adding to this Barca are said to be unable to match Chelsea's current offer for the player in terms of wages, signing on fee and agent fees. Chelsea have been pushing very hard in the last few days to get the deal over the line. Reports suggest it would be a 4 year deal. Sounds good in principle especially if we add in the option for a 5th year. As it stands Chelsea are offering the best deal, no teams will meet his demands but CFC appear the closest.

June 6, 20224 yr because he's a free i think it's worth a go. Also him having his best form under Tuchel could be significant
