I want to see more of Kepa.  No one has ever said that, but I'm saying it.  Mendy passed it to Arsenal last week led to a goal, tonight save led to a goal.  Just making mistakes that are costly. Really since AFCON he has been subpar.

@Valerie how’s the pre-season going? I’ve smashed through my Pringles and I’m going to try and scoff my ice cream second half.

I had a hot chicken ciabatta and the better part of a pizza earlier. I needed to replenish the calories I burned today mucking out my parents' flat.

Not sure I'd be putting too much blame on Mendy for their goal. He made the save, pushed the ball wide like you are supposed to, but where we should have had a right back and a right centre back, there were two unmarked Udinese attackers instead.

Played pretty well, same old dogsh*t finishing though, and then another lapse in concentration and an individual error costs a goal.

Mendy has to tip that around the post, that is something he has always had an issue with. But to get beaten by the follow up is really worrying.

Alonso frustrating as ever, Azpi very limited.

Kante and Jorginho were great, especially 1st 30 minutes, Koulibaly is pure class.

Front 3 look fluid, great movement, and link up play, but the finishing from all 3 was crap, and theres been times when we have had no one in tne box for a cross.

Pretty pleased though after the last game, still think replacing Azpi, and Alonso is paramount, and we could do with another forward too.

Looking at the highlights we look way better, don't need to worry about the current players just need to focus on getting a striker in

Holidays starting to fade and the season not far off, They're stretching the pins now!

We are playing a team that finished 12th in Serie A. I wouldn't get too carried away.

But there's no guarantee we will look this fluid with a "proper" striker, as we've already spectacularly found out to our cost once already.

Some good link play, poor finishing though again at fault

Kante good finish, looked sharp early half

Sterling first of many?

We have been caught on the break a few times

Poor from Mendy again for their goal

works both ways, If they banged in 12 goals i still wouldn't say we will challenge and win the CL and if they lose I wouldn't say they're going to to be dog poop

More about looking for signs they're starting to fire the engine up, playing as a unit and not looking like a Sunday pub team etc

Mount, Sterling, Kante and Jorginho have been good in this first half atleast. We could do with a bit better positioning at times, one of the central defenders should step up alot earlier whenever there is danger behind our midfield pivot. No need to run back with all 3 defenders and leave a huge gap between midfield and defence. Our wingbacks could improve some as well, not really exploited the space they have been given at times, Alonso in particular.

Completely agree Kante. The Tottenham game on 13th August is going to be the real marker.
