August 5, 20232 yr I do think we are at a point where we either pay the money or walk away. Im absolutely sick of hearing about this saga. The situation we find ourselves in is self made. Brighton are taking the piss but also that is negotiations for you and we have been too slow to shut it down. Why has it taken so long to get to a point where we are now considering a 90mil offer for him? In the beginning bright said 100 so why didnt we sit around a table and negotiate something that meets in the middle? Now at this point so much water under the bridge and brighton are fed up and digging their heels in. I absolutely blame our side for not taking any control in these negotiations, whilst throwing money left right and centre at unproven 18 year olds. What message does all this send. Yes brighton are c**ts but our recruitment/owners are fking clueless. Now Get the deal done. We need him and youve wasted too much time already.

He's probably had more clubs than Caceido has had games. Yes, but can you imagine the reaction here today if we were about to sign a player with sketchy attitude issues who in the last five years played what should have been his peak years at clubs of the level of pre Shiekh City and Bolton?
August 5, 20232 yr "Ecuadorian Romano"? I mean seriously WTF making up sh1t like that these days? Next thing we will see is North Korean "Ecuadorian Romano" says it's a done deal, apart from clubs couldn't agree on a fee. Wait, have we been there already?

Didn't take much notice at first it being twitter and that but that guy being the "Ecuadorian Romano" speaking out alongside has made me take notice a bit. A lot of smoke and coincidental activity (Sanchez/Kudus) very much taking place it seems.

Also Caicedo was absent from the Brighton pre season kit photos this weekend. If true Brighton got their Rice money they wanted all along, just 5mill less up front and 5mill more in add ons.

True,I'm not sure how that relates to signing a one season hit for £100 million though ?

If true we are truly mugs and will get hauled over the barrel by every club moving forward when they overvalue all their players we want. Two £100 million players is nuts. We didn’t learn from the Cucu deal at all did we.

Two £100 million players is nuts. We didn’t learn from the Cucu deal at all did we. Unfortunately I won't be surprised if this report is true. Since the departure of Roman the idiots that took over have shown a consistent lack of common sense and business acumen required to run a club in the EPL. We should have been very afraid as a fan when one of the first thing they did was to sack the entire club structure without the tiniest inkling of how to run a football club. Buying two players for 200m not only sets a precedent with other clubs but also place enormous pressure on the team and the players to perform. The Press witch-hunt will be massive anytime we lose a game. Not only that, the way we bend over backward all the time for Brighton is not only nauseating but deserves to be investigated. No matter how good Caicedo is, he does not have 3 legs, and he can always be injured. We could have taken another route and gotten another player for far less and build over time. The club won't die or go to relegation if we don't get Caicedo. So what exactly is all this rubbish about?

Arguably the United States' best player. If we do sell Gallagher for 50m, getting Adams for only 20m, who is very good defensively, in the pivot would be a great depth option. Enzo Caicedo Adams Santos

Yeah, we definitely weren't run likeable crazy house under Roman were we, made no mad decisions or huge overpriced signings....

August 6, 20232 yr 1 hour ago, The Rising Sun said: Brighton are probably already lining up another one season wonder for us to break the bank over Brighton see us as a laughing stock. Seen this fan preview in the Guradian and their contributor says: ”And we might be about to see another piece of great business from Tony Bloom: selling our third choice goalie to Chelsea and using the money to buy Chelsea-target Mohammed Kudus from A**x…” and… ”It’s all about De Zerbi…. He’s already winding up Chelsea about how we’re in Europe and they’re not.” So I’m fifty/fifty about signing him. On the one hand we get their best player and weaken them on their quest for European glory to rival ours, and on the other hand, we spend 100m and they offload another overhyped five minute wonder and we again look stupid. And they have a better season again and everyone worships Kudus and we offer 150 million for him next summer and get told it’s not enough.
August 6, 20232 yr While Sanchez was far from my first choice this "Brightons 3rd choice keeper" line is a disingenuous twisting of reality at best.

August 6, 20232 yr People forget with caicedo we have a midfield that can last 8-10 years. I see him the difference maker in us getting CL and not getting it.
