Nottingham Forest v Chelsea (PL) Sun 1st Jan 2023 16:30 GMT

Another promoted side that, if we approach them the way we did first half against Bournemouth, we will beat.

If we approach them as we did the second half against Bournemouth we won't beat them.

So which Chelsea shows up? Cause it would be really nice to enjoy a second Chelsea game before City beat us 2 on the bounce after.

Can't have asked for a better game going into the new year. Just play the same system and team ( as much as one could manage). Build a bit of form and momentum, rotate people when we are winning.

Utd best them 3-0, but at Notts Forest will be different especially as they are hoping for a reaction from that poor loss. What better game than against a Chelsea side with one of their best players now out.

We've got City twice in a week after this game. We could really do with a win against Forest so we can take a bit of confidence and momentum into the City games.

Go all out here, rest players again City. First team or back ups, we know what we will get in those 2 games.

As we played ‘a game of two halves’ against Bournemouth. I’m still not sure what to expect from us against Nottingham Forest!

Three halves?

Hopefully the players enjoyed themselves enough to put in another performance as against Bournemouth, perhaps even extend it to more than 45 minutes. Too ambitious perhaps, though.

If we can beat Forest it will take the pressure off a little for the City games and perhaps that will be reflected in our play too.

Interesting to see Reece’s personal trainer clearly absolutely seething over the latest injury, the inference being that RJ was rushed back into action too quickly. If true, then this is totally unprofessional by the club and also totally unacceptable. Amateurish almost. Hindsight’s a wonderful thing but for his first game back, why didn’t Potter just give him 45 minutes either the first half or the second half, and build him back in match situations from there, especially when at half time, we were cruising along very comfortably. Jury for me still very much out on Potter. As someone said after the Bournemouth game, this job could be proving far too big for him.

That wasn't Reeces first game back.

How many times have you been banned now mate you need help. You were @Dointhejtdouble and @jt61 and at least two others go back to the Spurs site where you belong. We can smell a spud out easily on here so better luck next time which undoubtedly there will be.

For clarity, neither of those characters are me, I assure you, Bluehaze. I have been called many things in my life…..but have never been accused of being a Spurs fan lol. My points remain…..A it’s clear to me that RJ was brought back too soon, and B it’s just my personal opinion that Potter is not going to prove to be the man for the job…..though obvs I would loved to be proved wrong. Yes I do watch football at The Lane but only when the Blues are the oppo (was lucky to be there three times I think it now is since their new stadium opened). Happy new year.

And you've based this on the in depth knowledge and understanding of the injury, his rehab plan and prevent I assume?

Took you about 6 months to rejoin this site wish you stayed away. No one joins a fans forum and has thinly disguised digs at the club from the very first post which you have done for about your 6th reincarnation jog on back to N17 mate.

We have a penchant for doing this. The same thing happened with Kante and now he has been out for almost 5 months.  We don't need reece having a very serious injury that changes the trajectory of his career just like Loftus cheek.

I question Potter but it's the medical staff who would've cleared Reece, not Potter you dunce.

And no one is gonna give a RB 45 mins to get fit and then sub them at half. Not how it works. It's not a friendly in July. You either get the green light from the medical staff as fit or you don't.

Happy New Year.

Now go sit in the corner and pipe down.
