After reading how people that followed his work in Sweden and in Brighton talk about how poorly his teams attack, I'm almost convinced that he won't have much success here. The new owners are either bad at choosing the right person for the job, or they are actually counting on us to not be a top 4 team anymore.

At the very least Potter believes in a dynamic attack vs having an out an out striker. Think football is evolving as such. We won the CL that way and Liverpool and City both won league titles that way. Hell, even Arsenal are on the verge of winning the title that way.

Swansea had just been relgated from the Prem when he took over and he ended up only finishing 10th in the Championship under him, I don't get how his time there is seen as a success, especially when you consider the parachute payemts.

It goes without saying that this needs to change. It's no wonder we don't score goals.

And while we are missing the likes of Mount, Sterling and Pulisic right now he's had almost every attacker available to him until City so this is clearly a case of the manager severely underperforming.

If your throw in a comparison to "defensive" Tuchel it's obviously even more grim.

This is why I think its crazy when people say 'we were just as bad under Tuchel'. Did people really just forget his entire time here?

Actually this topic is too much like the worst of Arsenal fan tv., I know we have every right to voice our opinions but to me, the most important thing is to support our club. After all we have been through recently , this is when fans should come together..

no one is happy at the moment, but the new owners ( who were being lauded to the heavens on here) have a direction and plan for us..

it's the  complete opposite to the old regime , patience is the key.

understandably , for fans of the last 20 years who have supported us in our most successful era ever ,this is all new to them.

trust me, you'll get used to it,....  not winning things?... it's all part of supporting our club,  it will make you a proper Chelsea  fan!

win or lose up the BLUES !.

His teams haven't been poor in attack, but he's never had players who were clinical finishers. Brighton for example were always great at creating chances but when you're left with Maupay or Welbeck to finish off the chances you're quite limited on how many actually go in.

Senior players with lots of international experience size up new manager’s/ coaches to see their knowledge and ethics.  If they don’t buy into their message or find sessions boring or not helpful, it can cause issues with those players not getting picked or their performance drops due to playing out of position

The wilderness years where crap we nearly went bust as a club I remember being at the bridge at old 2nd division games very grim my friend. Proper Chelsea fans want to win trophies its a long way back when you fall to far behind  You can rebuild a team over a season or two and a least stay in contention for top 4 and win cups all big clubs rebuild this way.

So you'd rather us relegated or continue playing terrible football?

I pity the match going fans. Imagine paying expensive ticket prices just to see the team put on a woeful performance or see the team get relegated but it's okay to not do anything about it because it makes you a proper Chels fan

I voted for 'No, he should be given more time', because of some of the reasons already stated in this topic. Some of the criticism towards him I agree with also, but I disagree with the mindset of the people who want him to get sacked in this situation.

I mean guys how about having some realistic expectations about the clubs situation, just because performance and resultswise Potter so far is a downgrade on Tuchel, there is no reason to think that Potter can have no positive effect on the club in the longterm.

With the owners having a longterm strategy which should suit Potter's profile, how would it be beneficial to the club if he gets sacked, because of a results crisis which is clearly influenced by an injury crisis, players underperforming and a squad quality problem?

Even if Potter has underperformed in some matches and probably will do so with this squad until the end of the season, I would still prefer if the owners back him and have a proper plan which they follow than act in a volatile manner.

It's delusional how some fans have invented this scenario that things were as bad under Tuchel and how we needed a massive rebuild at the club.

The only reason we need a rebuild now is because the new owners are ripping everything up and starting over like we were a club run into the ground and Potter is taking us to mid table (or worse)

No i dont rather we get relegated or play terrible football.

But supporting a club isn't all about trophies and glory..

And going through barren years makes you more appreciative of the good years, and you don't end up as an angry , entitled "fan"

I've been through the wilderness years . Started in the early 60s.  I never expected us to win anything. I was just a fan , I could have supported other teams if trophies were more important to me then our club.

I want success like everyone, but most teams win nothing.. ever.

But they have fans that support them . Palace, West Ham, Sunderland, Millwall etc etc .

Success was better than the sh*te years certainly, but it's still Chelsea, always will be no matter.

Thanks for your reply mate take care

First time I've heard the fans singing for Tuchel since Potter took over. Match going fans are turning.

Glad that they're singing for Tuchel, hopefully Boehly will notice

Give Potter time. He still has 4.75 years on his contract left. Lol. It has been a disastrous appointment. The Yanks will have to act, and very soon, and admit they made a huge mistake in bringing Potter in. I thought as much as soon as he arrived. Just look at his CV. He has in reality achieved nothing of any worth…..Brighton, Swansea, and before that some unknown Swedish outfit. The chickens have come home to roost.

It's his whole approach that is very structured that the fans of Brighton and those that followed him in Sweden talk about, not merely finishing chances.

I expect that Boehly also noted the chanting of Roman Abramovic that he won't be so please about!!

Yes, but it’s the manner in which we have lost.

I still don’t see him going they will ride it out until the summer.

Easy to be pissed off about today but we were never going to win that with Silva being rightly rested and without James, Chilwell & Kante.

Think it is clear that we play our better football when we have Silva at the back with Zakaria in the midfield and then the likes of Hall & Carney to at least give us something to get excited about.

At this moment, I feel I NEVER want to see, Havertz, Aubameyang or Ziyech player for Chelsea again. They all look completely disinterested and the sooner they are gone the better, closely followed by Jorginho, Koulibaly, Sterling and maybe even Kovacic. Too many players just going through the motions - it's no wonder we are so easy to play against.
