The 90 minutes left me angry, depressed and empty, in that order. Felix would have been a huge positive, if he hadn't stretched himself into that lunge. He looked like he wanted to beat his man and be direct. Huge disappointment that he will now sit out the next three, but not Potters fault. Their first goal, a deflection that took Willians shot away from Kepa, who would easily have saved otherwise (maybe - it was straight at him, but.. more later) was just bad luck, not Potters fault. Shortly after we had a shot deflected that took it towards Leno, bad luck again. We bossed large amounts of the game and got a deserved equalizer, only for Felix to make a tackle he should have never gone for, bad call on his behalf, but hardly Potters fault. Finally another Kepa clanger (what was he thinking?) gifted Vinicius (Snr I presume) an opportunity my grandad could have found the net with, but not Potters fault.

Now I have to listen to idiots attack Potter as the reason we are, where we are, again. Watching so called "experts" clamor for his head and stoke the sh*t. I wasn't at the game myself but according to ESPN fans were singing Thomas Tuchel's name, if true they need taking outside and having a word with. TT's transfer choices are the main reason we are in the sh*t now. They weren't working for him, so he was fired, remember? He brought in duffers like Aubamayang, Cucarella, Sterling, Koulibaly, none are anywhere near worth what we paid.  We need a class keeper (Mendy? don't make me laugh, he's got two left feet) and a proper finisher (no idea who, but i don't get paid thousands to watch football around the globe and find him.)

Face facts - we are not going to finish top 4 - will be lucky(?) to even get Europa. Time to stop expecting this team to win every time they walk out. It ain't happening, so get off the team & Potters backs and bloody support the club. There are are enough opposition fans who hate us, already fanning the fires our own idiot's are starting. If the footy gods are reading this - please find some other team to have your sh*ts and giggles with.

Quite possibly Just whereas I'd be looking for us to look further ahead than next week.

Granted its tough now with so many injuries but with a fit squad  is there really any value in still playing Jorginho, Ziyech, Aubameyang, Pulisic, Havertz, Azpilicueta (for different reasons than the rest, stunning servant to the club) and Kovavic? I don't think there is. They have so little to contribute now

There is no other option though. I am happy to play more kids but you need kids that is ready not some random kids from b team.

Is there any other dm left that we have except jorgi? Any other RB except Azpi?

Completely agree with what you are saying in some aspects we are experiencing some major bad luck along with 90% of our useless players seemingly uninterested.

Just to add that Potter hasn't done anything to convince anyone he is the right man. It's been roughly 4 months since he got the job. Not 1 single player has improved, if anything they look like they've gotten worse. There is also no style to the play, no passing patterns, static movement. I think the truth lies somewhere in between. Its Potter and the players.

Wrong line up, no reaction with his subs, brings Jorgi on when we loses Zak. He really is terrible with his tactics and subs ain't he?

Even as one of Trevs biggest fans I could see he was having a stinker and needed the hook at half time, and he ends up losing his man for the winner. Really poor.

That meeting did a lot of good eh?

And ironically that second goal probably doesn't happen with Mendy in goal. Don't get me wrong he probably would have messed up elsewhere but I am pretty confident Mendy would have come and claimed that cross.

His best player is the one that had 1 training session with the rest, that's how much we lack quality and coaching.

Hahaha the bloke who couldn't communicate in the same language as the rest of the team and had no idea what the rest of them were doing was our best player. Well until he got himself sent off...

What is spending £250m i n summer and 4 players in this window if its not a rebuild. Need somebody that players look up to and can motivate them

The players that have been bought for this 'rebuild' are the equivalent of rebuilding your house out of jelly and candyfloss instead of bricks.

I'm not convinced at all about Potter, but I am astounded by how many people believe that this is all on Potter and not so much the people running the club and ESPECIALLY the majority of the players. The players are largely a bunch of not that good bone idol money grabbing twats. I don't care who manages this lot, they will only even try if it suits them. And I can't even remember the last time it suited them now.

If I ever see Havertz and quite a few others play for us again I will be physically sick. They disgust me.

It's both. It's not just Potter. It's not just the players.

A lot of the players are crap. But also, Potter has taken them down even further than they were under Tuchel towards the end. Take them out one by one and put them in good teams, e.g. Mount at Liverpool, Pulisic at Newcastle, Havertz at..someone, they'd look good. But all together, and with this leadership, it is simply not working. We are spiralling down and down and its only going to get worse.

I have read that Felix speaks good English

The only fault that Potter can be blamed for is that he continues to trust certain players. Sorry, no one can convince me that with these players we can win something.

Seriously, tell me the ones who are close in spirit and mentality to Terry, Frank, Ivanovich, Ballack, Cheh, Drogba, ? Even the sloppy Mikel is much better than these morons. When was last time when we turn the a game from loosing position? And with a GAME, not with a LUCK? Where went the times when we can turn a game against Man Utd for example, or Napoli?

And  Potter how can fix and remove all of the trash just for 3 months? This is what the others before Potter left- A MESS. Klopp was the same when he arrived in Liverpool.

Tuchel won the CL. Yes, but how? Got some luck other teams to be in bad period. Just like the title with Conte. The Club World Cup was the same, painly wins in extra times with lucks.

Last season if Newcastle and Arsenal were in form like this season, could we finish in top 4? I seriously doubt.

Unlike every other poster on this forum and clearly proving that despie watching and pkoaying football for 60 years i  talk through my ass I thought havertz played well and put in a shift. He just isn’t a number 9 and I don’t really know what his proper position is. I thought he worked hard and was the only front player  using his body.

as for the team Trev had a shocker, Zakaria wasn’t much better, hall needs a season in the championship, Dave is well past it, Arrizabalaga has lost his confidence again. The defence is worse now than when lampard was coaching, something I thought I wouldn’t see so soon.

Potter has had a lot of bad luck but clearly has to shoulder some of the blame. He could have hooked Trev, he should have started cucu and used hall for 20 minutes. Personally i think Jorginho and kova are our best midfield duo. Felix could have just been given 60 minutes instead of the full intended 90.

im not convinced Potter is the right manager, but  he probably has to be given more time. The defence is so terrible it’s a joke and ther is no chance of it improving just now. Silva is our best defender and he shouldn’t really be in the team, particularly if we are playing a back 4.

and to state the obvious we won’t win  games without forwards that regularly score goals.

such a disappointment ,this game.

Good post,  we desperately need at least some of em back sooner rather than later! Getting half of them back fully fit is better than all of em back half fit.

Excuse me for jumping in like this.

On North Stand Chat (the Brighton forum) I am known as "Swansman" and as a fierce, die-hard Potterian defender.

The similarities between "Swansman" and a fierce, die-hard Potterian defender called "Droyman" is a bit difficult to overlook.

I don't like getting involved on this "Shed End" right now because of the nonsense spouted here, but with people believing you to be me - which would be a reasonable guess perhaps if it wasn't for your excessive and nauseating use of exclamation marks - I'm just going to have to straight out ask you: who the f**k are you and are you trolling me or Chelsea fans?

Whilst I agree with your post overall, I'd say this is far off the mark. Yes we had some luck, but we faced Atletico Madrid when they were top of the league (and eventual champions), a pretty much replica of the Madrid side that won the CL the next year and who finished 2nd, 2 pts behind Atletico. Then we faced the EPL winners who led the table since the 20th round. They were all in good moments, probably even more than ourselves fighting for that 4th spot and we did our job perfectly against them which is why we won in the end.

We faced City then yes. Until the final Guardiola finally did what he had to do years ago because his tiki-taka style is out of date from long time. He played with pragmatism. And at final he turn to his mania of possessing and passing-all of the players to be in other half of the pitch. One counter attack and was over. I think last month was more than obvious that this style is dead when Spain played.

Other thing - there is no place to compare us with Real Madrid. Even they have bad periods they never been like us now and recent years. To struggle , to wait other teams to put them in top 4 or to win CL.

I'm waiting for him to run up the touch line trip over a match stick and break his leg and have a long concussion to put him in a coma for the rest of the season....knowing his luck since he came he it will probably happen.    Emotional intelligence...who needs it.  I hope he can cope or he will become a broken man...still there is always.....

Unlike 'some' on here I am NOT a Johnny come lately gloryhunting Chelsea fan, I've probably been a fan since before you could say 'football', do you know the history of Chelsea FC?

So are you criticising me for being younger than you? I have supported the club since 1993, bit hard to support the club much longer, given I was born in 1986.

He only played two thirds of the game and was still our best player by the end

No, none of us can do that, but, those of us who do remember times before Matthew Harding know where we came from. It wasn't all roses and trophies, but it was character building. Look at Liverpool & Leeds, when I was a young 'un they dominated football, much like Man C do today. They both went into huge decline for years, it's just a part of football. Until Ferguson, Manchester Utd were just also rans really, the odd cup or so, but nothing that hinted at what was to come. You just have to accept (and learn to enjoy) the good with the bad and not expect CFC to be winning trophies every year. We had some great times and fun following in the 80's, we'd win when we least expected and lose horribly against some cloggers, but it was, nearly, always the best day of the week. Nothing lasts forever, so try and find enjoyment in just supporting your team through thick and thin, you'll live longer and happier.

He looked lively though. Was by far our best attacking player and unlucky not to have an assist and maybe a goal too.

Straight red so 3 game ban. It’s the clearest red card you’ll ever see.

Maybe looked a bit like Werner but on the left... young forward's tackle got him sent off
