December 30, 20232 yr I think he's been in a difficult position with Sterling being in form for periods of the season while being our most experienced player. So it's difficult for him to get a game, then you've got Mudryk who's been showing positive signs and difficult to bench. But for the life of me I can't understand how Maatsen gets a game over him on the wings, it's ridiculous. Happy he's had his chance to showcase his ability, he definitely deserves more gametime.

Sterling needs to be last choice for a while after that debacle against Wolves.
December 30, 20232 yr Direct and takes opponents on. Knows where the goal is. Puts in a good cross. Works on the defensive side of the game. Whats not to like?

Maybe Neil "Spy" Barnett can ask Pochettino this much more important question than his imaginary ploys about Petrovics kicking.

December 31, 20232 yr Definitely improved the defensive aspect. There was a moment in the first half Luton tried a cross far post, ball went past Gusto only for Madueke to clear it. Thats a goal last season. Jackson did well in defence too. Nice to see Sterling dropped when others are pitching in on both ends.

January 6, 20242 yr Has to be given a run now. Always positive looking to go past people something we lack accept for Sterling who seems to just run into people more often than not
January 6, 20242 yr What an exciting young player. Seems a really nice kid in the post-match interviews too. One of those players that gets fans out of their seats when he runs at opponents.

January 7, 20242 yr I don’t think Mudryk had the best game against Preston, but think some of the negatives he got were a bit unfair. Twice Enzo put the ball over the top for him, but put far too much weight on the pass, so Mudryk tried running onto it going out of play. He’s fast but not that fast! So it ends up looking bad on him when it goes out! Also, it was Mudryk than won it in the box to pass to Gusto to set up Broja’s goal. I still think he starts over Noni for me!

Was also Mudryk that whipped in a cross thart Broja put on to the bar. Whether the cross was a little high or Broja got a little too much on to it is up for debate. For me Mudryk plays for the team first, Noni plays for the team but also likes to do some things for himself directly. Sterling most always prefers to play for Sterling. So I would go with Mudryk and Noni on either side of Palmer for Boro. Now when Nkunku is finally fit, and Lavia too, what we end up with is anyone's guess. Maybe that 4222 system the Brazilian manager brought to Real all those years ago with Nkunku and Sterling/Palmer the two furthest forward lol.

Like many wingers Madueke is inconsistent. But he is always trying to make something happen and I think will improve his end product with playing time. It is one thing to take him off if he is having a terrible game, but he was one of our better performers last night and it would have been easy to pick several others to sub ahead of him.
