Looked bright when he came on. Ran with the ball, took players on 1 v 1 and put in some more than decent crosses.

His end product is usually like the kid he is, but he puts the fear of god into any defence he faces. He should have been playing right from the start of the season, at least he really tries.

True. But very easily dispossessed twice on the wing letting them flood forward.

How many times do we see Sterling dispossessed.

I think with Madueke you will see a mixed bag, a bit like we already get with Mudryk. He has some skill and can likes to take players on. He has also managed to score a couple of goals in his limited appearances. But equally he can give the ball away cheaply leading to counter attacks, and his final ball is far from predictable. He may get a start tomorrow, and if he takes the opportunity well then who knows? But if he has a poor outing tomorrow it could be his last for us. Supposedly he is on a list of players that we may look to offload in January. At least on loan.

The thing is players like Madueke & Mudryk need the game time in order to get the confidence and consistency.

Due to how we've played those season, the environment isn't the best for developing young talent as it stands.

Issue with loaning him out is it’s midseason, and unless the manager views him as a key player and a game changer it will be another 5mths wasted. Another thing is “where?”. He is probably pushing for a loan/permanent move away but looking even at the bottom 3 teams, I am not certain he will start at any of them. He has 1 goal in 8 PL starts over almost a full season, the bottom 3 have wingers who have better contributions in the league.

Finally off my head I can’t think of any of our “big money” loanees who are starters in their clubs since Boehly took over. He be joining the ranks of the Andre Santos, Casadei, Moreira, Angelos who aren’t starters out on loan.

The only one is Slonina ... started 18 out of 20 league games to date. At least he's getting plenty of practice at making saves (Eupen 2nd from bottom in Belgium's Jupiter Pro league !)

Hutchinson is getting a few minutes off the bench at Ipswich (albeit we got him on a free) and has a goal and a few assists, and Casadei is a regular sub at Leicester (also got minutes last night). Fofana has been a flop, but has actually now scored a competitive goal for Union Berlin (in the last round of Bundesliga fixtures),

Santos is the one that worries me. Not getting picked by two managers at Forest now ... 

Moreira I see as a hopeless case. No idea why we signed him. I can't think for one minute anyone actually watched him beforehand.

Moreira was a free transfer I think but I agree an odd signing.

Agreed. There are also limits on the number of players we can loan out. If we sell him at this point it would likely be at a loss. But currently it seems unlikely that he will get a ton of opportunities in the first team.

Just an inexpensive gamble. At worst the club could make a decent profit off of him. 

From preseason alone, the lad looks like he won a lottery to play for the club.

Could have signed Kudus, Elanga, Mbeumo, Diaby, Harrison. Expensive gamble, i'd say.

Could also have kept CHO who's far more talented than Madueke came from our academy and was just as injury prone to boot.

Madueke wasn't a gamble it was just a nonsensical signing and unfortunately not the only one

Pochettino looks a bit stupid freezing this guy out. Would be different if we had players in great form and were nailed on starters, but there isn't a single attacker in the team that is performing well enough to limit Madueke's playing time to almost nothing all season.

If he had been fit, sure. Missed 5 games with injury, came back from the U21s with hamstring issues.

If we sell madueke I am going to rage

I know I've been highly critical of him but it's only cause his end product is so poor. Well taken goal today, maybe time away has made him start to work harder. 

Amazing what giving players chances does. Madueke and Mudryk both looking more comfortable in the league now.
