September 9, 20232 yr He has no idea what's going on around him, just constantly runs into defenders areas and loses the ball. He might try looking up once in a while.
September 9, 20232 yr Mudryk is awful. His technique is so bad and it’s not going to improve much after the age of 22. If it wasn’t for his pace he’d be playing Sunday league football. I don’t understand the comparisons with Ronaldo, at the age of 22 Ronaldo scored 42 goals for United. A better comparison might be Agbonlahor, but even he banged in 13 goals for Villa when he was 22. We spent £90mill on a player that scored 10 goals in 4 years in the Ukranian league. Whoever scouted him should be sacked, clearly not a footballing person.
September 9, 20232 yr Unbelievable. None of us knew who he was before we signed him and it's clear to see why.
September 9, 20232 yr Been terrible since he's been here, but we won't truly know until he gets a run of starts.

If I remember correctly the initial price was close to 60m with the rest in addons. After what we have seen to date it seems unlikely we will paying any of the addons.
September 9, 20232 yr It was led by Winstanley. Hearing he didn’t have the best of matches against England? Also hearing England’s attackers were poor as well.

Admittedly he was one of our more expensive signings back then but even with inflation he wasn't in the Mudryk level of signings.

I also don't understand with people who say we should play murdyk. It is actually the other way around, Murdyk need to show that the deserved to play. Shooting from 40 yards, trying to beat player 3v1 are not the way to go. And no playing more doesn’t solve this. Ronaldo (thin Portuguese version) was a mad hatter who tried tricks all over the park when he arrived at the theatre of sh*t... Fergie coached the silliness out of him a little and let him play. Im really not saying Mudryk is on the same level but he does possess quality. Yes he needs a run in the side and most definitely having Chilwell starting ahead of him will probably frustrate him. We really need the youngsters to listen to what poch wants and lay it all on the line every time they don the blue. We certainly need to see Mudryk for half hour cameos to stretch teams in the final half hour of games and see what he can offer against tiring fullbacks and defenders at the very least. Good player there, we need to see him get minutes.

He used to be Neymar in Ukraine league but in PL he is simply not good enough to play like that. Usually player adapt, I am no longer good enough to be star, I will simplify my game. Murdyk so far hasn't shown willingness to do that. He shoot from 40 yards, he keep trying to dribble against anybody. Edited September 12, 20232 yr by Bob stark
September 12, 20232 yr If Pochettino does not feel he is of use to us we should loan him to a Turkish side so he can at least play. Their window closes soon.

I'd happily sell him to a Turkish team if we can get £20m Went to a sports bar today in Spain that had multiple TV screens each with a different fixture on and there was a group of Ukranians in. Scarfs hats flags the lot. asked them about Mudryk being benched and they Said he'll never be as good as Yarmalenko and Tshankov and just cause Chelsea bought him doesn't make him good enough for Ukraine. A couple laughs when someone said the only thing that will take longer for him to score for us is for him to score for them. I didn't know he'd never scored for Ukraine. What has this lad actually done to think he deserves regular minutes he's shown nothing at all to suggest he's a PL footballer. Edited September 12, 20232 yr by Whats_The_Mata?

I'd imagine he's also something of an unknown quantity for them too though since her only ever played a handful of games in the Ukrainian league. He had a fantastic half a season before we paid mega money for him, that's it. Clearly the scouting team saw something in him though.

Not very interesting at all imo, managers always praise their ex players De Zerbi said it himself he loves them all but he only coached him at a very low level of football. What matters is what Mudryk shows on the pitch and in training so his managers select him at the highest level. Not what his old amateur league manager, his childhood friend or his former school dinner lady say about him. What's interesting/worrying to me is that he's had 4 coaches at a high level and a Ukranian manager. He's not scored a single goal and they're all not picking him and it's not like hes up against much competition. Yarmalenko was a very average premier league winger and i didn't know Tshankov but it looks like he had a very good record in Ukraine before struggling in La liga with Girona. You said our scouts must have seen something in him but given how terrible our scouting and all our signings under Boehly are even on paper that doesn't fill me with confidence. we seem to be actively avoiding attacking players who score goals. September 13, 20232 yr Mudryk is genuinely the only signing since our recruitment team has taken over that looks like a bust, and even then its still far too early to tell.
September 13, 20232 yr Considering Diaby, who's around the same age and far more proven went to Villa without a bidding contest, we really haven't done well. I don't even think we did much scouting at this, it's a matter of Arsenal wanted him, he must be good for us. Mudryk still has time, but it's not like he's a 19 year old, time is not on his side since he needs a significant improvement in the technical side of his game.
September 14, 20232 yr Is murdyk a bust? We shall see. But it is rare for a 22 years old to still play like murdyk. The best path for him IMO is to go on loan somewhere.
September 14, 20232 yr @Bob stark His name is Mudryk, not Murdyk, as you consistently spell it 🙂 Should this be caused by dyslexia, I apologise for making this an issue.
