September 25, 20232 yr Was having a brilliant game before the red card. Thought it was an incredibly harsh red, he's won the ball and then the Villa players momentum has took him into the challenge. Getting to the point where its not even worth trying to win a 50/50 anymore.

The red is made even more farcical by the fact there were worse tackles by an Arsenal player and a Sheff Utd player yesterday, neither given as a red.
September 25, 20232 yr Never a red in my opinion. VAR is the worst thing to happen to football in decades. It was brought in for minimal intervention and only clear and obvious errors, the fact that the ref looked at it 11 times on a screen should surely be a giveaway that it wasn't clear and obvious.
September 25, 20232 yr Unfortunately I think it was a red card considering that stupid follow through law.
September 30, 20232 yr Curtis Jobes got a similar one today.. so atleast there is consistency in referring.. no surprises Macca crying about it and freeze frames.. hardly a murmur for Gusto

I still don't think Gusto's was a red card, it certainly wasn't a clear and obvious error from the ref. The yellow was fair.

Yeah and look how the reporter talks about the freeze frame .. it was the same against us.. maybe given we are mid table these times we have to accept it .. I just see us getting nothing from refs these days..

I still don't think Gusto's was a red and what annoys me, On MOTD last week Shay Given said, yeah definite red and yet today, Neville was saying no way red for Jones and yet it was a lot worse. And in the North London derby last week, Nketiah's challenge on Spurs keeper was the worst of the lot - proper leg breaker if he had made contact and yet he only got a yellow.

We already saw no consistency last week. Saka's challenge was worse than Gusto's, and there was a worse one in the Newcastle v city match.

November 13, 20232 yr I reckon that strains been there for a while. Pretty obvious with that heavy strapping he's been carrying an injury for a while. Shame because despite the miss I think he's very solid at right back. He doesn't have the absolutely world class touch that Reece has but he's a darn good option.

November 14, 20232 yr I somehow missed that he is supposed to be playing for the national team. Goes to show we signed a good player.
November 14, 20232 yr Ofcourse he's got time on his side but right now I don't think he's anything more than back up quality. A decent one especially compared to an ageing Azpi but he's not shown anything to make me think he's going to give Poch a selection headache when Reece is fit.

I don't think you realistically can sign any RB that will give poch headache to compete with Reece

Team isn't jeopardised when he plays and he's only ever going to play when Reece needs a breather.

Agreed, hopefully he improves for a few years under us, then should he get antsy for a starting berth (assuming Reece is still fit and healthy) we turn over a little profit and bring in another solid young backup to learn under Reece. Seems a decent enough deal for all involved.

When you're a backup to Reece James you're basically a starter, he's got nothing to worry about when getting game time, unfortunately...

December 19, 20232 yr Looked quite good when he came in. Was always an option and injected a bit of urgency which was lacking . First time I’ve been somewhat impressed with him going forward although he didn’t get many crosses in. Edited December 19, 20232 yr by Dubair
