February 12, 20242 yr Thing is, I think he will need to become our regular RB (if he can stay fit) I don't think James can play the role. It's too much for him.
February 13, 20242 yr He’s looked great since day one, and I mean preseason. A little rash, which he’ll learn, but has all the attributes. Still early days, but he’s the kind of player Real Madrid eventually come knocking for. He’ll give James a run now as well
February 13, 20242 yr jackly and hyde... awfull firs half.. awesome second half.. Bags of potential.. loads of grit. Poch dont run him to the ground.
February 13, 20242 yr Absolute Baller... Something of the Dani Alves about him Cant see James getting his place back if he continues his integration to the team.

February 13, 20242 yr I think people are counting out Reece James way too early. We'll see how he is next season now that he's had his surgery but let's be honest, as good as Gusto can be and he'll only improve, if Reece gets close to what he was before he gets straight back in the team.
February 13, 20242 yr Gusto at his best is probably 60-70% of James at his best. Not a dig at Gusto, just that James is arguably the most complete full back in Europe. It’s just great we now have a very good fall back option vs a dead Azpilicueta. Edited February 13, 20242 yr by Sconnie Blue

James is 0 compared to gusto currently because he isn't fit and hasn't been since winning the champions league. gusto can play left and right back and looks pretty sensational so far. James was a great player for us, but his inability to remain injury free now counts against him. Really hope that changes but the speed at which Gusto is settling into the side should be concerning to James.
February 14, 20242 yr Didn't realise he's only 20. Probably explains some of his brain farts but, heck, he's got a future.

It's not so much about counting James out, I just can't see him ever being capable of bombing up and down the pitch without injuring himself.

Perhaps James could be converted to a different role that is less likely to lead to further injuries. He played in midfield for Wigan quite effectively.
February 17, 20242 yr I'm repeating myself, but this guy is Madrid bound one day. I think he's superb, and will only improve with experience.

February 18, 20242 yr I don’t know what training do they do in France. Gusto looks like he is about to pass out after 70 min, every game
