Wolves v Chelsea (PL) Sat 8th Apr 2023 15:00 GMT

As I said after Wolves scored the 1-0 ... I just want the season to be over. It was over when we sacked Tuchel and replaced him with Potter. The signings have also been crazy and many of them seem "questionable" at best. There doesn`t seem to be a plan behind what we are doing. We have way too many attacking midfielder/winger/no clear position fowards but no decent striker. All our best players are injury prone (apart from Silva and Enzo I guess). Mendy and Kepa are not good enough to start for a top4/6 side. We still don`t have a proper defensive midfielder. Next signing for summer: Nkunku, another no clear position forward to add to the collection. I am so sick of this.

Kovacic talked midweek about players taking some accountability for the performances and then they serve up that drivel. There are a number of players in the current squad who should never play for this club again.

Kova past his best... Clear out this summer- Kova, Havertz, Ziyech, Cucu (what a joke signing) Joao Felix, RLC

Keep Dennis Zakaria and the spine of the team Wesley, Enzo, Benoit, Mudryk, James, Chilwell, Mount... where's DD Fofana? what's Potter done to him

Yet here you are saying how after one match lamps has failed. Now he well might, I honestly believe we should have come up with a better option but do you see the irony?

I don't believe I've said ANYWHERE that Lamps has failed have I!?

Currently I can see 4 points, possibly 5 with a bit of luck.

Should get 3 points against Nottingham Forest, I think maybe a point at home to Brentford and if we're lucky a point away to Bournemouth.  Can't see anything else. Jesus Christ

It wouldn't have made much difference who was appointed interim for these last few games. A lot of the players already look like they are on their summer holidays. Interim managers are not going to make much difference when you have a squad like ours that has no character or leadership. The only time I remember it working was first time under Guus and then we had a team overflowing with strong characters. Our club is in a total mess thanks to the new owners.

thanks to the UK Govt and no doubt somebody in Govt or their cronies making money out of sanctioning RA and the transaction to TB.

Some seem to think that things will magically get better next season. I don't see it, the owners have come in and completely f**ked up. Just because they have money, it doesn't mean they are good for the club. Can anybody name one thing they have gotten spot on so far? All they have demonstrated so far is that they know f**k all about football. How they came to the decision that Potter was the man to replace Tuchel is anybody's guess. The absurd amounts of money they are throwing around at players that in some cases are Championship standard is laughable as well. "Oh, but these players have potential" thousands of players in world football have potential, only a tiny percentage make it to the very top.

I don't buy their bollocks that the club was a mess before they arrived either. They made it a mess with all of their horrible decision making since the summer. They have turned the club into a joke.

I reckon their ' investment " in Chelsea is really a tax write off scheme using the losses we'll incur against profits elsewhere in their portfolio.

It's the only rational explanation.

Absolutely mate, our game was developing and with a summer clear out and a preseason there was every reason to be optimistic.

Now we will have to start all over again with whoever comes in.

This EXACTLY! I only hope and pray that this time they give whoever comes in TIME!! WE WILL NOT be top 6 next year, we are TOO FAR behind now - we ARE also ran's and until we can accept this we are NOT going to build anything.  If we arrogantly think we are just going to fall back into the top 4 just by hiring some kind of miracle working manager then we are going to be disappointed, whoever comes in and I PRAY its somebody top notch WE MUST GIVE THEM TIME!

Then why did we insist on Potter being sacked ?

Can't speak for everyone but I think most people including myself wanted it to be done at the end of the season if it was going to be done (the owners probably felt the same way). I think the owners caved to fan pressure which is why he got the sack earlier than the end of the season.

Agree 100% with this.  It is a shockingly incompetent way to have approached this. No idea about this game or the wider industry of football, and because they happened to get this model to work with Baseball they then seem to think this model is scalable so that they can bowl in and bomb off everybody involved with the most successful club in the country over a twenty year period.  Absolute clowns.

It all started when Todd thought I don't want to work with Tuchel. The owners have set us back years.

And he's blown a third of the 1.75bn already.

Kepa - 1/10 - Looks like Lampard has had an immediate effect on Kepa, because every single pass he made was straight to Wolves, punched or didn't come out for things he should have. All the work in the last year or so undone and he's right back to old Kepa.

Cucurella - 2/10 - Offers nothing going forward. Literally seems impossible for him to run with the ball more than 5 yards without turning back.

Fofana - 5/10 - Not too horrific, but caught dawdling on the ball on occasion.

Koulibaly - 2/10 - I'm giving him 2, for the total amount of tackles I remember him making. Truly awful distribution. Never seems to have a clue what he's doing on the ball. Beaten for pace easily on numerous occasions.

James - 2/10 - Everything is too casual. He thinks he's better than he is and that he doesn't have to try. Towards the end it was truly embarrassing. Losing the ball and just standing there doing nothing to win it back.

Enzo - 3/10 - Did nothing all game.

Kovacic - 1/10 - Even by his poor standards, his passing was shocking today. I'm pretty sure he found a Wolves player more often than a Chelsea one. Constantly lost the ball in dangerous areas. Waste of space.

Gallagher - 3/10 - Runs around a lot. That's about it.

Sterling - 1/10 - Does not want to be here. No effort whatsoever. Can't dribble past a single player. Lost the ball every time it came to him. Awful, awful player.

Havertz - 1/10 - Forgot he even played

Felix - 2/10 - Same as Havertz, except with a better touch.

Subs:

Pulisic - 2/10 - Put in more effort than Sterling, but same end product: nothing.

Chillwell - 3/10 - Nothing

Mudryk - 2/10 - Nothing

Aubameyang - 2/10 - Basically nothing

If anyone else came on, they were so forgettable I can't remember.

Manager:

Lampard - 1/10 - Somehow managed to take the absolute sh*t-show that was Potter's chelsea, and has made it worse in 4 days.

Looking forward to Real Madrid.

The point here is that Merson on SSN was spot on. There is no pattern whatsoever,  there is no energy, no organisation.  It is just a collection of players and not a team.

Spot on comments from him and therefore whether Potter or Lampard is in charge it really makes little difference. It needs more than this.
