April 9, 20242 yr Can we just give Washington a game ffs, it's not like we've got so much on the line is it. Pay 20 odd million for a kid just to sit on the bench.
April 9, 20242 yr You do get one positive with Jackson, he didn't cost as much as some of the other crap at the club.

April 12, 20242 yr Blokes clearly an inside forward, would be far better playing next to a proper CF and running channels driving at a backline. Like expecting Werner to play lone striker.

Both have 11 goal or assist contributions in the league this season. Both came from Spain and one has been here nearly 12 months longer. I'll take five league goals from him between now and end of season and I'd say that's a damn good Premier League debut season... Hope he bulks up a little for next year... Isak now has 17 goals in 24 EPL games. He is miles ahead of Jackson in every respect. Technically, a million miles ahead.

Anyone putting Jackson and Isak in the same sentence need a serious re-think. Isak ALWAYS looks a threat. Can't even remember the last time Jackson scored. As you say, million miles apart.
April 14, 20242 yr Can you guys relax when it comes to Jackson? Swear you lot love jumping on him for any reason. Isak only managed 10 goals all competition last season with Newcastle. Jackson already has 12 and none of which were penalties AND he didn't cost us £60m. Goodness sake just let the lad develop. Edited April 14, 20242 yr by Sconnie Blue
April 14, 20242 yr Not sure why we're comparing Jackson and Isak anyway? Isak clearly the better player right now. So what? Still support Wacko - he's Chels.

Jumping on him for any reason? he rarely looks interested. I think that alone is enough reason to jump on him. Isak was injured at the start of last season and didn't return until January. The only time he stopped scoring for Newcastle was when he was moved to left wing. He's played the entire season up front for Newcastle and now has 17 goals. Jackson has played ST all season and has been awful in the vast majority of games he has played. The problem with Jackson isn't that we need to wait and let him develop, he's just not very good and there is little to suggest he ever will be. Edited April 14, 20242 yr by Scott Harris

This isn't some £90m flop signing, Jackson was always meant to be a 2nd choice striker. In reference to Isak who everybody now wants to compare him with, in his first season Isak played LW only 5 times vs ST and his numbers aren't even that different to Jackson. Isak is meant to be Newcastle's #1 and by what I've seen I am not even sure if Jackson is playing in his best position.

I agree with you re Jackson, however I'll go a bit further and say there's no basis for comparison as Isak was always a "right club" transfer away from doing exactly what he is doing now.

Isak is meant to be Newcastle's #1 and by what I've seen I am not even sure if Jackson is playing in his best position. Then who was our 1st choice striker supposed to be? I hope the plan wasn't Nkunku, because he's not a striker. As for Isak, it was 6 games at LW in 19 games after his injury, so pretty much a third of his games after injury he played LW. 10 goals from 16 as a striker is a good return. It's not just the goals either, he's actually a tricky player to deal with most weeks. Jackson is barely noticeable most games. I'm not sure what Jackson is actually good at. He had a few games after the AFCON where he was holding up the ball well and dribbling better, but that has all disappeared again and he's back to being invisible until he gives the ball away. Even if he isn't a striker and is more of a wide forward, I still don't think he is even good enough in that role.
April 14, 20242 yr Who knows what his best position is, and if it's not striker, WTF made the call to have him as the number1 ( and only 1) striker at the start of the season? He will stay, and that's fine with most people. He scored some goals, so good for him. He didn't cost nothing either, I recall it's in the region of 30Ms, which is still a lot. The fact we decided to go 'cheap' on the arguably most important position on the pitch just showed what a bunch of clowns those transfer people are.

So pretty much terrible play consistent with how the team have been playing. Well he is part of a team currently playing poorly, bar a couple players that have some games where they turn up so it's not strange to me. He will only get better and as for his numbers they are decent for what like Sconnie said was never meant to be a main striker. Top strikers on the market are trickier to get and at the time we got him I'm not sure I remember any of them on the market or available for tempting to us due to the price tag attached. If we decided to get a stop gap in him, then he is doing ok. Last title win our striker was Diego who got 20 goals and Hazard 16 goals. You can't compare any of our forward players since they left to any of those and in that season the usual support cast like William, Pedro, Batshuayi got 8,9 and 5 respectively. Since that title win season only Hazard, Pedro, Mount, Abraham and now Palmer with 16 have hit double figures so we've not particularly been blessed with good attacking players. Jackson is 9 goals this season and even with the horrible season and player you say he is having and being, he is still the highest scorer from open play as 8 of Palmer's have been from the spot (We can't even accuse refs anymore of not favouring us with spot kicks as we have had a bucket load of them). He's not the best, but he is returning ok numbers for the team he's playing in and in comparison to what we have had over the years in that area of the pitch. Write him off after 2 or 3 seasons of his gazillion years contract. Edited April 15, 20242 yr by abister1 Minor change

Lets not forget Isak is 2 years older as well. Jackson's had a good start to his Chelsea career, a bit of fine tuning in front of goal and he'll be a great investment for £30m.

April 15, 20242 yr Double figures now for league goals in the season and 13 in all comps. Not bad for a 22 year old in his debut season.
April 15, 20242 yr Credit for the goal and assist, but this guy has so much growing up to do. From sliding into OnlyFans thot's DMs, to collecting yellow cards due to a lack of discipline, to randomly fighting for a penalty he was never going to take. Chaotic first season.
April 15, 20242 yr Scores a good goal and makes a twat of himself (nothing unusual there) with the penalty drama. The guy can't help himself.
