There is a lot of quality that we have brought in that, with the right coach, can improve a lot. We are without several players, however Mudryk, Palmer and Jackson clearly have lots of talent, Nkunku is a top player. A back 4 of Colwill, Badishille, Disasi and James can become really good, and our midfield trio is class. There is a lot of good here, overshadowed because we Spursyed this result.

As Neville said, we were in such control with the defence looking comfortable and our midfield were winning the battle then one bad pass from our keeper changed all that. That's football - it can turn in a split second. Could have been worse if that Nketia effort had gone in. What is so annoying is that Sanchez kicked it long quite a few times today and if he had done that, we would have probably seen the game out 2-0. But overall, we have to be happy with a lot of that performance and hope we build on it.

October 21, 20232 yr When did we last beat a top six side* in the league? *appreciate defining top six isn’t always easy. City, Liverpool, Arsenal, United, Spurs. Maybe include Newcastle now?

Remember the same things were being said after the pool game which we couldn't win and see what happened in the next run of games. We need to beat the big boys to gain the confidence of a top team. That's the reason I'm f**king outraged with this result. We had this in the palm of our hand and we threw it away. N'kunku, Chilwell, Carney, Fofana, Chalobah, Broja, Lavia. All not available. James, Disasi, Jackson, Madueke. All just returned from injury and possibly not fully match fit. A new team still learning to play together in a new system. A team that had been low on confidence and in the bottom half of the table. Arsenal had every first choice player available. Perhaps only a slight question over the match fitness of Partey. A team used to the manager's system. Just beaten Pep and City. Bursting with confidence. And we were, without any doubt whatsoever, the better team. By some margin. This is a young Chelsea side. It is growing, evolving, learning. But still, with all those hurdles and injuries, we have shown against Liverpool and now Arsenal, we can compete. We can take points off them. I believe, it won't be long before we start beating them.

October 21, 20232 yr Its actually a good two points lost. the team showed us they want to play and can. Should have seen it out... really... but I think we're all seeing improvements from week to week so encouraging all round.

October 21, 20232 yr In my way back. Really pissed off with Sanchez, and the whole of the Bridge were, as he got them back into a game they’d lost from kick off. If it wasn’t for that mistake, which has been coming for a few games now, we’d be laughing. Overall, quite satisfied with the performance and how we’ve dominated a team that is riding the wave (mind you, they’ll crash back to mediocrity soon enough). Those Woolwich boys silent the whole game except to celebrate the draw, which they did as if they’d won the Champions League (never will). They were the worse away fans by a mile so far this season. Keep the faith, with time, luck will start coming our way.

I'd say only Palmer and Badiashile have made an instant impact since they first played for us. Thats why I say quality. Waiting for Nkuku to make his first appearance. Same for Santos. Mudryk, Madueke, Disasi, Ugo, Jackson all have potential but there's a lot of work to be done.
October 21, 20232 yr A while ago i was looking at these fixtures thinking we might not even pick up one point between now and december, but we are now already there and feel bad about it, that is a big step in the right direction. However, It would seem at this point our only january priority should be a world class goalkeeper. The striker talk is of less importance imo.
October 21, 20232 yr Ok caught the goals now. Big slice of luck on our goals, Mudryk deserves that luck. Sanchez obviously gets his kick wrong. He is clearly aiming for Enzo, gets it badly wrong however I agree with those who place a large portion of blame on Conor switching off there. Rice is switched on an executes the finish very well. Conor is ahead of of Rice and has fallen asleep, he should have bailed Snachez out. As Sanchez should have been bigger and bailed out Gusto for falling asleep and letting Torssard in. All that hard work gone because players did not pay attention for the whole game.

October 21, 20232 yr That error has been coming from Sanchez. It’s not the first time and he’s got away with it a few times. Very poor from him. He has saved us a couple of times so I suppose we should go easy. He needs to improve it though. Overall, I would have taken a point beforehand. Given the performance and being 2-0 up, it feels disappointing. But we’re seeing more positive signs and it’s been ages since we last went toe to toe with a rival - so that’s got to be pleasing. Poch is getting a tune out of this team.

It was a bad kick, is clear he was aiming for Enzo and got it wrong. However he had made poorer kick outs, to Nunez, to Pedro, and been let off the hook. That goal is on Conor, he was in front of Rice and he switched off. Watch his reaction, he was not mad at Sanchez imo, he was mad at himself as he truly is "porper Chelsea" so that hurt him. Now Sanchez should have stopped Tossards goal, but he blew his shot at redemption.
October 21, 20232 yr Not too down after that to be honest. Excellent team performance and we were comfortably the better side. Sanchez. I think he is a decent keeper but when the ball is at his feet it’s clear he won’t be first choice next season. Gusto. Thought he was excellent bar being at fault for the equaliser. Martinelli who? Silva. His class is permanent. What a player and it’s a shame that we didn’t have him at his peak. I get the feeling we’ll kick on when he goes though. Colwill. Was good today and much prefer him central. Cucu. Outstanding. Best game for the club by a mile. Saka got very little out of him. Caicedo. A couple of mistakes today but he’s a Rolls Royce. Enzo. Another 7 out of 10 performance but I get the feeling he’d be getting rested if it wasn’t for the injury list. Gallagher. Excellent game and played like a captain. His pressing was top notch. Mudryk. Happy he scored and there is a top player in there. Got better as the game went on. Palmer. You just know he’s going to get better and better. Our best signing since Thiago imo. Sterling. Excellent today and rightly first choice. Zinchenko will be having nightmares tonight. Jackson. Needs to shoot earlier. Reece. Good to see him back. Noni. Did ok.
October 21, 20232 yr Low table team performance again. Top teams don't drop points at two goals lead at 15 minutes from the end Poor really poor again.

We got lucky Saliba made that error, Sanchez and Gallagher cancel that luck out on the first goal. Our second goal am very happy for Mudryk as I think he will be a very good player and deserves thar luck, but it was a very lucky goal. If lady luck is no with us we draw another blank at home. We gotta improve on that and our home form in general.

October 21, 20232 yr The Mid block game plan will work even better with more attacking impetus. Nkunku and a fully fit Jackson would’ve been crucial here.
October 21, 20232 yr De ja vu. England have just lost the Rugby World Cup semi-final having been in front all game until 3 minutes from the end. Fantastic battle.
