What if all this bad defending is an export conspiracy in South America!! There was a podcast on London is Blue regarding Estevao. So much optimism about his ability from the analysts and from the youth team coach. They know he needs to bulk up, and made some good comparisons on the benefit Kendry has had from 12 months of first team football. It's all rather exciting. I still hope Angelo comes good - his technical play is really good. Reminded me of subbuteo, and at hit one with my wrist for the kick. (The only defender that moved a bit)
June 22, 20242 yr To General? Anyway. He could be amazing player in the future. Already excellent in the Brazilian league.

June 23, 20242 yr Let’s hope he does better than other Brazilian wonders we have signed, like Kennedy, Nathan, Piazon, Mineiro, Pato, Washington etc.. and more like Willian, And erm, Luiz? Rambo? Belletti? Emerson Thom?

June 23, 20242 yr Don't recall anything like this for the other kids but even the BBC has an article about Estevao joining Chelsea and a comments section too! There must be another YouTube vid doing the rounds as the one I saw wasn't all that tbh.

Rambo? Belletti? Emerson Thom? This one has significantly more hype around him. The others are completely different cases as well. Washington was always bought for the U23-team and Strasbourg. Potentially with the hope of him either developing or just to sell on. Kenedy and Nathan were quite cheap and not the biggest talk of the town from Brazil at the time. Piazon was a sad casen. Lots of hype and the talent was there - just didn’t fulfill his potential. And well, Pato. We took him in on loan after several major injuries - hardly fits a list of Brazilian prospects. For me, Estevao is one of the most exciting investments in many years. Really looking forward to seeing him and Paez on the team.

That explains why there was an article about Estevao on the BBC, and they only mentioned paez and the strasbourg kids (they're already chelsea players) and didn't mention any of the others above iirc. June 24, 20242 yr After officially signing his Chelsea pre contract he played and scored for Palmerias, and did the Cold Palmer celebration. Lol

June 25, 20242 yr Don't feel he is worth this much amount of money when we could have invested directly in current team. Check this video. Neymar was and is all about about skilling and dribbling while this guy is just dribbling. He isn't using any skills. So probably wont perform well against better defenses. June 25, 20242 yr He’s got a solid year to hit the gym and gain some strength. Hard not to be excited when you read what his youth coaches say about him. Welcome!! Maybe lessons the attention on Kendry also. Beyond excited to see him play. Edited June 25, 20242 yr by PhilH930

Estevão still has long ways to go to even warrant a decent YouTube video, but that's probably why's he called "Messinho" instead of "Neymarzinho". Not that nicknames tell the whole truth, but as far as I remember Messi is and was all about close control and precision instead of showcasing a fancy bag of tricks and I'd be very pleased if Estevão continues his development the same way.

Give me body feints and close control instead of slowing the play down just so you can humiliate a player with an unnecessary rainbow flick every day. There's a reason Messi is the greatest player of all time and doesn't do silly tricks, efficiency is key.
June 25, 20242 yr In terms if club structure we should get that club from Portugal. It would be so much easier for him to acclimatize to Europe playing there first. However Brazilians are used to moving around the world with ease.

Makes you realize just how talented Neymar is. His career is a bit of a tragedy. Deserved to have been seen at his best in big tournaments.
