We are a bit disconnected from the reality of day to day Brazilian football to understand just how massive this kid actually is in that country. I sometimes find myself translating comments from Brazilian fans and no matter what Brazilian club they support, the consensous is that he is the next big thing and the closest talent to Neymar they've seen since Neymar's Santos days.

I know it is early days and he cost a fortune already, but if everything clicks, this type of players are the ones that transform an entire club as a whole and take it to a whole new level.

I believe Cole Palmer has the same aura around him and is capable of incredible things. What I have noticed during the Euros is that it has been a very long time since a Chelsea player benefited from such a good publicity from the media and also from rival fans. At the moment I think it is very hard to find an English fan that does not want him in the starting line-up and here I include even our biggest rivals.

Thanks any good Brazilian forums for us to scout/ read that are in English ?

We bought Angelo " the new Pele" Gabriel last year from Brazil.

Couldn't wait to see him play for us.

He's on loan to Strasbourg.

Anyone know if the latest Brazilian wonder kid will go the same way ?

Apparently both he and Paez have been told they go straight to our first team squad

Unfortunately no. Palmeiras' forum is pretty active and I use google translate and then there is Youtube where the Brazilians are very active in the comments section. South American football has a very good coverage on Youtube, especially the individual highlights.

According to reports now Paez and Estevao are planned to come straight into first team as soon as they turn 18. Next season that is. Whether they stay there the entire season depends on many things.

But by the looks of it both have the chops to make it. Especially Paez looks very ready.

Estevao shouldn't really have any problems joining the first team, not sure on Paez as his best role is in the middle and doesn't tend to play well on the wings.

I wish Brazil call estevao for their Copa squad so it it easier to judge whether he is ready or not.

He is still a bit lightweight and if you look at any clips from Brazilian league you can see the physicality is far from the Prem. But in a years time a young body will gain muscle at a good rate. I am sure Chelsea will consult him about gym routines even before he joins.

Breakthrough came a bit too late for a Copa call up but definitely in line for one in their next round of internationals.

If Martinelli can make the jump, I'm quite confident Estevao will be fine considering he is a much better player than Martinelli was.

It all depend whether Estevao can handle the intensity and physicality of PL.

If we are in la liga, I won't have the same concern. PL is a different beast.

I see, hopefully he get a call up so I can see him outside Brazil league.

I watched some of Endrick clip vs Uruguay and it was rough.

I definitely read it or listened on a podcast somewhere. I think it was the BBC South American football journalist Tim Vickery.

Cheers mate. Vickery and the talk sport guy are usually very good

I also distinctly remember seeing si I,ar clips of Andrey Santos breaking through into the national side at areally young age and we were buying the next big thing. Yet all I see lately from esteemed Brazilian legends is how poor Brazilian football is currently.

I am still hoping this is Santos' break out season for us. He was meant to be the first real up and coming star that we brought. There needs to be some evidence that this South American shopping spree has some value to us on a footballing level.

Endrick managed the physical side ok but on the day was not a star on the ball. Yamal is no different to Endrick physically but yamal was dishing out a yellow card to a French player at the end of 90 tough minutes.

Maresca made a point right at the start when joining that he definitely wanted Santos and Angelo involved in preseason.

Here's hoping mate.. 🙏

Apparently Endrick only completed one pass against Uruguay in 90 mins and it was the kick off in the first half 😬. Only thing I noticed during the match was that he would usually turn his man, use his body and then get fouled. Clever player but has a lot of areas to improve, particularly as you said with the ball. He was a lost boy.

Just shows how big the step up is.  Unrealistic to throw them in the deep end at that level and expect immediate impact (although noting that, and more club experience, some will point to Yamal Lamine).

We need to be patient with all of them  - Gabriel, Santos, Paez and Estevio.  Vini Jnr and Rodrygo took a couple of years to adapt to Madrid, and bulk up.

Patience isn't enough though. Their development is not simply a function of time and waiting. Young players need management, coaching and mentoring from senior players; none of these are present at current Chelsea.

Ronaldo had Keane and Neville, Messi had Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Deco, Vini Jr had Benzema, Modric, Kroos. We have....Sterling?

I mean Madueke has improved a lot of aspects of his game last season and its well known that he looks to Sterling for guidance.

Estevao and Paez already have a lot of admiration for Palmer (joining his celebration) and will likely only increase his reputation the following season when they arrive. He was a man against boys last season so they could easily learn from him.
