Ben Jacobs update:

”Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley will lead Chelsea's search for a new manager.

Prior to Mauricio Pochettino's departure, succession planning had already begun. Clubs do this even if they don't make a change when there is uncertainty (or potential demand in other cases), or a manager is simply on a short-term contract.

Expected to be a fast appointment. Kieran McKenna, Michel, Enzo Maresca and Thomas Frank all discussed.

Sebastian Hoeneß is expected to stay at Stuggart (as @FabrizioRomano called), but another name spoken of.

Eddie Howe appreciated, but no approach to date.

Roberto De Zerbi and Ruben Amorim not viewed as likely at this stage.

Volume of names shows #CFC have done their diligence allowing to them move quickly.

Thomas Tuchel won't be offered a return. Nor will Jose Mourinho, who is currently in Saudi Arabia.

As for Pochettino, understand he's happy to go straight back into work. His departure is described as amicable.

Chelsea's strong end to the season, and form since Boxing Day, plus the young squad he was working with, mean he leaves with plenty of plaudits within the industry”

What does speaking English have to do with it?  Any signs of speaking English and the pure profit Gestapo chuck you in the back of a van and sell you to the highest bidder.

It was directed at several morons in one of the Poch threads who were bagging Poch because his English isn't fluent. He who speaks more languages than they do.

Paul Winstanley leading this, a big fan of RDZ, whom he appointed at Brighton.

I just went with Tommy T.

I've no f**king clue who to go with right now, I just went with the safe and unrealistic option.

Not fussed on RDZ at all, but it's clearly going to be him so it is what it is. Anorim is a decent gaffer but again like most of the managers on that list, very risky, no experience outside of the Portuguese league.

There's no manager on that list who I have high confidence in taking this team to the next level with immediate effect. Besides Tuchel, but that's not going to happen.

I'm not expecting us to challenge for the league, but we can't be doing this back to square one sh*t again, this team needs to be sitting around the top 4. I think with the majority of these managers we'll be back in reset mode, sitting at midtable, losing the same games, needing time to adjust. A very sh*tty situation, but hopefully I'm wrong.

Strange. Feel like his football would be well out of Juve's comfort zone.

They might, just might, just might* have learned their lesson with the throwback to Allegri.

* I stress might.

RDZ who fell out with Brighton over their "model" which isn't a million miles away from Chelsea's. Love affairs have their use-by dates. I'm told.

Surely more likely that the RDZ managerial appointment at Brighton was handled by the Owner, CEO and Technical Director rather than the Head of Scouting ?

Here's my take friends don't buy into the names being linked now I think it's all smokescreen surely they're not stupid enough to release their primary target even in a leak.

History tells us it will be De Zerbi

He's Brighton

He's available

He's young

Tactically astute

Epl experience

My preference between the names linked would be him or Amorin if we're not having a Tuchel-esque manager. What I will say is I find it poor that the board continue to obsess over youth both in playing staff and coaching staff it's disrespectful to professionals of all ages to assume that people of a certain age are of no value. The model is so rigid at this point I hope for their sakes whoever they do hire ends up being a vindication for all of their previous mistakes.

I have gone for "other" and that other would be Xavi. He is having a torrid time at Barcelona, but is young, a brilliant former player, highly exposed to top level coaches and their methods, tactically astute and a decent man manager. He just might jump at the chance to get away from the Camp Nou and Barcelona would be delighted as they cannot afford to sack him or pay him off.
